  1. I do not think he is a great QB. I am pointing out he has been a damn good college QB. He has 17 TDs and 1 int over the last 6 games. He has thrown 3TDs or more with 0 interceptions 5 times in that span. I agree that this will be a tough test for him. I doubt the OL can hold up vs the Texas pass rush and the WRs can get open. I am just saying he isnt a scrub. He is capable of making some plays. He would probably rank in the top 3 of Qbs that TExas has faced this year.
  2. That is a take. Texas has an OL ranked 7th in run blocking and #1 in pass protection by PFF. There are few situations in the country better for a QB than at Texas this year. Texas is going to lose 4 starters off that OL, maybe 5. Going from arguably the best OL in the country to possibly replacing all 5 starters and you think the offense should be better? This is a take straight out of fantasy football, where skill positions are all that matter
  3. Ranking the 8 remaining quarterbacks in the College Football Playoff by PFF grades ASU has a WR problem, but Leavitt has been very good all year. He is actually graded the #1 QB in these playoffs by PFF. I still dont think ASU is going to break 20 pts, but people are under-estimating him as a player.
  4. Sweat. Felt like he could take 2 OL and 2 Gaps on every play at times. Just freed up everyone else
  5. It is really rare for this conversation to happen to a 3 year starter. Last I think of is Chris Simms. Here is the PFF grades for the remaining QBs in the playoffs. 8. Stockton: Offense: 57.6Pass: 54.7Run: 61.6Overall Rank: Not ranked 7. Ewers: Offense: 72.0Pass: 71.2Run: 56.2Overall Rank: 154 Ewers is either really good or he's getting benched in favor of Arch Manning. There's no in between. For the season, Ewers has 2,867 passing yards to go with 28 touchdowns, but 10 big interceptions. Texas can go all the way, but only if Ewers is on. 6. Maddux: Offense: 75.9Pass: 72.1Run: 69.1Overall Rank: 110 5. Howard: Offense: 84.2Pass: 84.2Run: 61.7Overall Rank: 43 4. Allar: Offense: 85.5Pass: 82.2Run: 75.0Overall Rank: 35 3. Leonard: Offense: 85.6Pass: 75.9Run: 83.2Rank: 34 2. Gabriel: Offense: 89.9Pass: 89.3Run: 63.3Overall Rank: 16 1. Leavitt: Offense: 90.1Pass: 85.6Run: 78.1Overall Rank: 15 Ranking the 8 remaining quarterbacks in the College Football Playoff by PFF grades
  6. This where I am at. Turnovers and penalties have haunted Texas all year. That was cleaned up vs Clemson. Keep it clean and this is a beating
  7. It is a bit of a double edged sword though as you touched on. The motion can clear up reads for a QB, but there is also managing all that motion. There is timing to motion (you dont want a snap hitting a leg as an example) and things like making sure people are set (you snap it before and its illegal procedure).
  8. Michigan Quinn is what we all want. Texas is going to see some talented defenses after this week. This should be tune up and confidence builder for the offense. The Michigan Quinn that showed the best pocket presence of his career will likely be needed to win these playoffs.
  9. irony of this is amazing. You started out saying OL could not pass protect vs Georgia. I pointed out that PFF credit them with 2 sacks allowed. I mentioned that the sacks were combination of OL, RBs, TEs, and QB. You decided to latch on to that. So to sum this up you created a false narrative about the OL to combat the false narrative about Quinn. fantastic. Little curious as to what you think the false narratives on Quinn are (outside the "pussy) in this thread
  10. actually that was my point. your point was
  11. But how many are on the OL.. That is answer is way less than 13. I believe PFF credited the OL with 2 sacks in the first Georgia game. That does not mean the rest were on the QBs (TEs and RBs shared the load). Clemson is example. They had 2 sacks and neither were on the OL.
  12. Keep in mind the missed FG happen after Quinn made his worst read and throw in the Georgia game. That cost Texas a 1st down. FG was made and then penalty wiped it off. Lot of stuff went into losing the Georgia game. Bert should have made that FG, but Quinn should have made that read also. Georgia led the nation in dropped balls. It is easy for Texas fans to remember the drops that hurt Quinn, but it also ignores that it happens to every QB. Also ignores the excellent plays WRs made, it generally balances itself out. OL is one of the best pass blocking unnits in the nation. Most of the sacks are not on them.
  13. guys you are mentioning were sophomores at the time. That goes to my point. I believe Junior Angilau was the only upper classman on that OL
  14. 1st 2 years were a train wreck on the OL. Year 1 you had the killer combo of Thompson and Card at QB. Year 2 was freshmen Quinn and Card with a rough OL. Hard to be consistent with a poor OL and inconsistent Qb play. i would say the 2022 offense being 17th was a very good job.
  15. I think this is obvious. PK inherited NFL picks on the defense in Ojomo, Coburn, Sweat, Murphy, Overshown, Ford, and Barron. The DL has been a staple at Texas under PK. The OL was an issue and had to be built up.
  16. This is the probably the first disappointing offense Sark has had at Texas.
  17. This is why this thread goes on. We all know when the pocket is clean and the Sark is scheming open reads, Quinn looks amazing. We know the poor mechanics and lack of pocket presence show up when there is any pressure. I havent heard Babers talk about in awhile, but Quinn's pressure to sack rate has always been very high. I expect him to look good this week for the reason above. His QBR is 29 nationally. His ADot is extremely low. 14 turnovers in under 12 games. He is a solid QB. People waiting for him to be the guy recruiting services predicted. That seems highly unlikely at this point. He is a very talented game manager. He is not going to lose you games, but he has not shown the ability to win games either. He has a chance to change that narrative in these playoffs. We will see how that plays out.
  18. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of McDonald in this game
  19. WTF are you talking about. Wow, you have made this thread dumber. I did not think that was possible
  20. You mean like the Georgia games? Most people have recognized that little was asked of Quinn and that is why they have said Klubnick played better. All you have to do is go back and actually read those comments. It’s only really offended 1 poster
  21. How many QBs play behind a defense that gave up 12 pts a game during the regular season?
  22. I think that is what people are saying about Klubnick, but apparently that does not apply to all QBs.
  23. I think he means Cade put up 24 pts vs a defense that gave up 12. That is 2x Quinn put up 16 vs a defense that gives up 20. that is 80% Cade put up 3 TD passes vs a team that gave up 4 all year. Quinn put up 1 TD pass vs a team that gave up 12
  24. Arch is a legit QB. He not a Tebow type gimmick QB. Just a way to add an element Quinn can not and get Arch some action
