  1. There is a reason Sark put him on the bench. Feel free to argue your points on the Georgia game with Sark. He was bad vs OU and Arkansas. If the Quinn that played in Ann Arbor shows up, this is a double digit win.
  2. I agree on the A&M offense. They are going to have a hard time breaking 20 pts, unless they get a lot short fields (turnover and punts). If Quinn has a bad game, it will be a low scoring game tight game like Ark. For the record I wasn’t bothered one way or other about Arch coming in.
  3. What? You can go back and look at my post saying their pass rush is overrated and they are 13th in sacks. One talking about Texas has huge advantage with Helm and RBs vs the A&M LBs. You can look at the post saying Texas is 3rd in YAC and A&M is 114th in YAC allowed. The only way I see A&M winning is if we get bad Quinn (OU,Georgia, and Ark versions). Good Quinn and this is a double digit win. Do you disagree with my assertion that Quinn does not handle pressure well at all?
  4. Texas OL is really good. They have given up 49 pressure this year through 11 games
  5. Interesting stat for this game Texas offense #3 in YAC (almost 2k) A&M defense #114 in YAC allowed (almost 1400)
  6. It’s Quinn’s reaction to those things. Every Qb’s performance drops with those, but Quinn drops through the floor. Make it easy for him like Florida and he looks like Heisman candidate. Get some pressure and he becomes a self-sacking mess. Does that when he his reads get muddy. Watch him self-sack vs Arkansas with little pressure. His sack to pressure numbers are god awful. Anyone that has watched Quinn knows his pocket presence is his worst trait
  7. This is a legacy game for Quinn and one all the NFL scouts want to see him play. He has a minor ankle sprain. He knows how big this game is for him. I cant imagine he isnt going to play.
  8. It was most noticeable on the roll out, when he tried to slow himself down. He was still running out his fakes late in the 4Q vs Kentucky. Walked fine after the final kneel down. He was banged up, but it did not look like a major injury watching the game. The injury reports seem to validate that
  9. I am not a fan of either to be honest, but no way they leave PSU out. Name is too big. Sagarin has PSU SOS about 30 slots higher. Committee would never bring in Vegas guys. Would be interesting to see Vegas's top 12 though
  10. I would bet on Quinn playing. He already missed time this year. He already has an injury reputation.
  11. 100%. If they lose to Purdue, I would not even consider them for the playoffs. They would never do it, but I wish they would just put Vegas guys on the committee
  12. Talking more about A&M stunting like crazy vs Auburn. That was a dumb ass game plan. You start looping DL vs the run and it is basically Russian roulette. That isnt factoring in Auburn has 1 of the best RBs in the SEC. Kentucky got caught slanting towards the OZ, only to find out 5-12 yards later it was counter. In the pass pro I share your concern. Why I said winning 1st down will be huge in this game. The book is out on Quinn. Muddy his reads or pressure him. I expect A&M to try and pressure him and see if he can keep his cool.
  13. That was a dumb ass game plan. I doubt A&M repeats that.
  14. I think it is similar outside of Josaiah Stewart. A&M doesn have that guy. Scourton is more of a power rusher with a spin move .
  15. Texas was getting 7-9 yards when they were not dropping safeties. Just look at the 4Q.. Not sure that will translate perfectly, A&M at home playing for an SEC Champ birth will have them little more motivated than Kentucky
  16. Same with the SoCar game. Lot of pressure on the OL in this game, because they do not have a QB or RB that can mask their mistakes. This is the worry. Texas struggles on 1st down allowing Bateman and Elko to dial up their excotic blitzes.
  17. Georgia has edges that nobody else has. LBs running 4.5s. A&M is more like Michigan's front. They are talented and powerful. Texas hasnt really struggled with power rushers. A&M DL is not the sack machine the media makes them out to be (13th in the SEC). They will get some pressure though and make Quinn navigate the pocket. Biggest advantage for the Texas offense is Helm and the RBs vs the A&M LBs.
  18. They hammered them in the run game. Bateman can get too cute. He loves to run stunts. He even ran some 1st and 10 with Auburn backed up inside their 5. Texas needs to take advantage of that when they catch them in the wrong stunt. Would be nice to get some long runs out of the RB position in this game.
  19. The offense has me a bit worried in this match-up. A&M is big and talented on the DL. They are very good down to down, but give up explosives. Those explosives tend to be big runs and deep shots. Texas has not done either of those well. Sark will go after their LBs in coverage. Going to be important to stay out of 3rd and long and not allow Elko to dial up blitzes.
  20. You made me look it up Worst: 2007 Notable picks: JaMarcus Russell (No. 1), Brady Quinn (No. 22), Kevin Kolb (No. 36), John Beck (No. 40), Drew Stanton (No. 43), Trent Edwards (No. 92)) Worst: 1996 Notable picks: Tony Banks (No. 42), Bobby Hoying (No. 85), Jeff Lewis (No. 100), Danny Kanell (No. 130) Worst: 2013 Notable picks: EJ Manuel (No. 16), Geno Smith (No. 39), Mike Glennon (No. 73), Matt Barkley (No. 98), Landry Jones (No. 115)
  21. Wonder if he changes his handle to _jayythemediocre_
  22. Sark seems to like to pass early (especially in big games) and close with the run. Texas has 374 pass attempts and 401 rushes. Quinn and Arch have 49 carries combined and probably 90% of those are on called pass plays.
  23. Texas hasnt seen much 3 high this year. Ark is pretty much the only game that Texas saw a big helping of that, perhaps I missed one in the out of conference slate. That Kentucky look is pretty common. They showed a ton of 2 high shell and spun into a cover 3. You have 7 guys inside 5 yards of the LOS. One of the safeties is coming down.
  24. I think most GM's are throwing up in their mouths over this QB class. I am sure one will be good, but overall this is one of the worst Qb classes I have seen in quite awhile.
  25. Defensively, Texas has a real advantage. A&M is pretty good at staying on schedule, but I dont think they score with any consistency, if Texas doesnt give them short fields (turnover and punter) Offensively, this is has more variability. They have a good DL, but not great pass rushers. They big powerful guys. I think the OL can handle them. A&M is excellent down to down, but give up explosives (long runs and deep shots). Those are 2 things the Texas offense does not do well. A&M is not a great tackling team, that is where I think Texas can get some explosives. Helm and the RBs in the pass game are a mismatch vs the A&M LBs. If Texas can win 1st down this game will be a comfortable win. IF A&M defense is winning 1st down and Elko can go mad scientist with his blitzes, some anuses are going to be puckered as this will be a dog fight.
