  1. To be honest, I would have liked Sark to dust off the 1987 playbook and run a trap or 2. The guards were getting destroyed in the run game. Ear-holing a DT on trap or Wham block might have slowed them down. Might have been a disaster also, but I would like to see more quick hitting plays vs Georgia. They are just so fast sideline to sideline.
  2. Or throw the ball to Golden on the crosser, instead of into double coverage, and the false start and missed FG doesn’t happen. Lots of plays in this game could have changed the results
  3. It should not be absolute. There are disparate schedules in conference play. A reasonable mind would ask what would PSU’s record have been if they played Oregon, OSU, and Indiana in the regular season similar to OSU? PSU only played 1 of the top 4 teams and lost at home. It’s not like teams in conference games did not move up and down. It’s one thing to try and limit the downside to conference games, it’s another to be blinded by a rule
  4. I think the committee boxed themselves in with all the playing in conference championships won’t penalize you.
  5. I think that is too simplistic way of looking at it. OSU played the best of the Big 10 in the regular season. PSU only played OSU at home and lost. Same records. OSU had head to head, better wins, and better SOS.
  6. I thought OSU got screwed. I don’t get PSU above them
  7. I had 2 big surprise moments from Sark in this game. I was shocked he opened the OT with Manning. I was just as shocked when he opened immediately pulled him after gaining 5 yards. Not sure why he didn’t just hurry to the line and run with it, especially given the offenses Redzone issues
  8. Quinn did not lose this game, but he failed to make plays to critical moments in this game. That has fans frustrated. At some point they want to see Quinn win a game and make plays in big moments. I just think Quinn is Dak or Cousins. Good enough QBs to put up stats and play, but not guys you trust to make plays in critical moments.
  9. Was Sark bad is the redzone? I saw multiple open receivers. You can argue he was too aggressive in OT, but there were open receivers there
  10. Texas won the majority of regular plays in this game. Georgia won the vast majority of the critical plays (that includes vs the Texas defense). It was like playing the Chiefs. They play like shit most the game, but you know if it is close in the 4Q they will win. That is what championship teams do
  11. Texas can’t win without the run game (vs real competition). This was pretty standard Quinn. Some really good, 3-4 turnover worthy plays, couple bad sacks, and some misses. When you have an inconsistent QB it’s hard to throw it 6-7 times to score on a drive by the way Ewers didn’t lose this game. That was a collaborative effort by the offense to lose this one (penalties, drops, guards really struggling).
  12. Quinn has the arm. Seen him throw deep outs. He does not use nearly enough. Feathers a lot of ball that he should just rip.
  13. This thread seems active, did I miss something?
  14. Georgia was Quinn’s worst game as a Horn. It’s redemption time. Let’s go
  15. I wouldn’t mind a fake screen. Send the WR on a stalk and go. Not throwing to the flat or perimeter screen on the 1st series would be the ultimate change up from Sark
  16. Georgia ran a lot of cover 3 (2 high shell and rotate a safety down) on standard downs and 2 man (2 deep safeties and man coverage) on passing situations. There was and will be deep shots available vs the Cover 3. Georgia CBs haven’t been great at playing the ball. There was and will be intermediate looks open vs that 2 high in the middle of the field (15-20 area).
  17. I think Sark is on the verge of a better script. That has been the key for Texas all year. 1st half Quinn vs 2nd Half Quinn is real. Sark is going to work his joystick and have Texas coming out hot early.
  18. https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fqb-stats-and-metrics-post-week-12-v0-55zpky9ktu2e1.png%3Fwidth%3D942%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D8930b1d4671b44f8e3ac03803212fc30800ec942&rdt=44238 just something I saw posted
  19. The Cam vs Jones is debatable. The other 4 OL having another year makes that a moot point. There is no doubt the OL is better this year.
  20. Sanders' athletic testing at the pro day didn't go quite as well. He posted below-average numbers in the vertical (30 inches) and bench press (eight reps), and his broad jump (9 feet, 6 inches) and shuttle time (4.32 seconds) were merely average. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2024-nfl-draft-texas-jatavion-sanders-explains-poor-pro-day-testing-lists-which-star-tight-ends-he-studies/ Argument is silly. There has not been any noticeable drop from the TE position.
  21. Look at Juan Davis. Instead of looking to block the end, he is going into the Flat and looking back at Quinn. At no point does he look to block anyone. I guess in theory you could say it is Triple option.
  22. The fumble was a called RPO (looking to hit Juan Davis in the flat off a split zone action). Quinn pulled it and took off.
  23. Hard to know if it is picked, but it is more about the situation. No need to take that chance given the game situation. It OK to throw it out of bounds and kick the FG. Quinn is having way too many turnovers this year.. 11 turnovers in 342 touches. That is a turnover every 31.1 touches for perspective Beck is at 34.9 touches
