  1. I am not sure you know what the word favorite means Odds to make the playoffs Boise State +300 Liberty +400 Memphis +700 Odds to win Boise State +25000 Liberty +50000 Coastal Carolina +100000 Tulane +100000 App State +100000 UTSA +100000 Memphis +100000 Fresno State +100000 UNLV +100000 Miami (Ohio) +100000 Toledo +100000 Texas State +100000
  2. I dont know if there are enough drugs in Vegas for anyone to have even considered the playoffs, when this kid transferred.
  3. I have no idea what happened. There are 2 competing rumors out there. The other being he hired an agent, and the agent told him he could get him more money. They asked UNLV to match and UNLV said beat it, so the kid could not play another game for eligibility reasons. Could be UNLV didnt pay what was promised, I just cant imagine what was promised being in the 6 figures.
  4. He was better than decent vs the 2023 schedule that featured such powers as Gtown, Lehigh, Fordham, Bucknell, Harvard, Colgate, and Merrimack. Did play Army and BC They lost 4 games last year.
  5. not sure I buy this He played 4 years at Holy Cross. Completed 57.4% of his passes. 65 TDs and 16 Ints. 100k seems like a lot for UNLV to pay for a decent running QB that is at best mediocre throwing the football. There are a ton of those guys around.
  6. Correct. Eric Swann 2x pro bowl DT was drafted out of a semi-pro league.
  7. People take some of the comments too literally. Not all flips are created equally. Huge difference between a recruit flipping because of a major change (i.e Cam and Banks) and someone that has been to 3 High Schools and had 3 different random recruitments. Context matters

    Texas RB Talk

No reason to move anytime soon. WR is arguably the best position group on the team and RB is the worst position on the team this year.
  9. Arch tried to be a bit too perfect on some of his throws, especially those wide open wheel routes. Just lob it out there. He will learn. Arch had some issues, biggest one was chasing the big play. He will learn to take the 5-7 yard check down. I am sure Sark and his uncles told him that already
  10. It just a different approach with Manning under center. Motion and as cut dramatically in the UTSA game, when Quinn left. Sark is simplifying the offense for Manning and taking a different approach.
  11. That game was next level. 10 attempts of 20+ yards on 29 attempts. Huge difference from seeing Sark and Quinn shredding people in the short and intermediate game this season. I don’t remember seeing much motion on offense either.
  12. I would love to see him play the 1st half next week and have the ability to start Arch in the 2nd half up 28-0
  13. Just seemed to me to be a different game plan. Lot more running and throwing shots off play action. I would have lost a lot of money, if someone said Blue would get 25 carries in this game.
  14. Guessing he meant the 2Q, specifically that long clock killing drive
  15. that is going continue. PK finally has guys that fit the position. It was a little odd looking when PK would drop Burke into coverage last year, who is a Jack forced to play Buck. Guys like Moore, Collins, and Orogbo have the athleticism to drop occasionally and help disguise blitzes.
  16. This is a crazy take. Bama is about a blue blood as you can get in college football. Bear Bryant certainly didn’t suck ass at Bama. They have had their ups and downs, but this is just wrong
  17. I have Worthy over Bond. I think he is better after the catch than Bond, but that is arguable. I do think Helm vs Sanders is legit. I just lean to Quinn being 1 year better and more efficient. Either way the offense appears better and that is what really matters
  18. Wingo will be the best of the bunch when he leaves, but he is not quite there yet. He may get there by the end of the season. It is more like this Worthy vs Bond Mitchell vs Golden JWhitt vs Moore that is starters vs starters. How many starters are you picking from 2024 over 2023?
  19. That was impressive and very similar to the Wyoming play from Worthy. I am not sure Bond is as shifty as Worthy. I think Worthy is faster, but I would pay money to see them race.
  20. Quinn lit up Bama in both games (at least until he left in the 1st game). Lot more man coverage from Bama. Quinn going 10-16 on 3rd down with over 7 yards to go on average vs Michigan, was really impressive. Depth is better, but last year's topline guys are better. Sark brought the rotation way in vs Michigan. That was the only game vs decent defense Texas has played this year.
  21. I dont this this group has really upgraded the WR position from last year. Almost impossible to do that. I do think Ewers' improvement, has upgraded the overall offense. I am not sure Ewers from 2023 could have shredded that Michigan defense. I thought Ewers played his best game ever as a Longhorn vs Michigan this year.
  22. Not a soccer fan, but it is excellent at developing footwork. That is benefit for these big boys that grew up playing soccer.
  23. Watching TyAnthony and LeFau has eased concerns over LB depth.. That said this class is looking very good. Wingo is averaging a ridiculous 31.5 yards per touch Simmons is already the best pass rusher on the team. 6 tackles vs UTSA, speaks to him rounding out his game to more than just a specialist. Probably needs another year in S&C before you put him out there vs a power team. Leads the team in tackles for loss and sacks Gibson leading the team is rushing.
  24. How many stud DT are in the portal every year? Maybe 1 or 2? How many has Texas won so far? It’s very hard to find All-conference type players in the portal. It is arguably the hardest position to find in the portal. That is part of the reason that a kid playing in his 2nd or 3rd football game ever has most the SEC begging him to come to their school.
