  1. I wouldn’t mind a fake screen. Send the WR on a stalk and go. Not throwing to the flat or perimeter screen on the 1st series would be the ultimate change up from Sark
  2. Georgia ran a lot of cover 3 (2 high shell and rotate a safety down) on standard downs and 2 man (2 deep safeties and man coverage) on passing situations. There was and will be deep shots available vs the Cover 3. Georgia CBs haven’t been great at playing the ball. There was and will be intermediate looks open vs that 2 high in the middle of the field (15-20 area).
  3. I think Sark is on the verge of a better script. That has been the key for Texas all year. 1st half Quinn vs 2nd Half Quinn is real. Sark is going to work his joystick and have Texas coming out hot early.
  4. https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fqb-stats-and-metrics-post-week-12-v0-55zpky9ktu2e1.png%3Fwidth%3D942%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D8930b1d4671b44f8e3ac03803212fc30800ec942&rdt=44238 just something I saw posted
  5. The Cam vs Jones is debatable. The other 4 OL having another year makes that a moot point. There is no doubt the OL is better this year.
  6. Sanders' athletic testing at the pro day didn't go quite as well. He posted below-average numbers in the vertical (30 inches) and bench press (eight reps), and his broad jump (9 feet, 6 inches) and shuttle time (4.32 seconds) were merely average. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2024-nfl-draft-texas-jatavion-sanders-explains-poor-pro-day-testing-lists-which-star-tight-ends-he-studies/ Argument is silly. There has not been any noticeable drop from the TE position.
  7. Look at Juan Davis. Instead of looking to block the end, he is going into the Flat and looking back at Quinn. At no point does he look to block anyone. I guess in theory you could say it is Triple option.
  8. The fumble was a called RPO (looking to hit Juan Davis in the flat off a split zone action). Quinn pulled it and took off.
  9. Hard to know if it is picked, but it is more about the situation. No need to take that chance given the game situation. It OK to throw it out of bounds and kick the FG. Quinn is having way too many turnovers this year.. 11 turnovers in 342 touches. That is a turnover every 31.1 touches for perspective Beck is at 34.9 touches
  10. Georgia fans are probably just as worried about QB turnovers as Texas fans. Quinn is actually more turnover prone this year than Beck. Beck- 435 pass att and 53 rushes- 14 turnovers (12 ints and 2 fumbles) or 1 turnover every 34.9 touches Ewers- 306 att and 36 rushes- 11 (7 ints and 4 fumbles) or 1 turnover every 31.1 touches. The Qb that takes care of the ball probably wins this game.
  11. This is the throw Quinn has to make this weekend. There are openings in the Georgia Zone in the intermediate game.
  12. Georgia looked pretty dialed in. I am not sure it was anything nefarious. Georgia had MSU the week before and looked like shit. I am assuming they took that week to prep for Texas, while Texas was prepping for Red River that week. That was also a do or die game for Georgia.
  13. Strange game. Both QBs were terrible. Both defenses held the offenses below 280 yards. Texas running game has really come around since then. That is the key. Have to stay out of obvious pass situations. If Etienne is out that very good for Texas
  14. Who was in a panic? Said all week that Texas wins easily if every offensive drive ends in a kick. Mathematically it’s pretty easy to underestimate giving up 0 pts.
  15. Cool, you must have a lot going on. I underestimated the defense and the run game. Glad they carried the load, especially the OL. Run game improvement the last few weeks is one of the better developments. Still think the pass game needs to improve to see Texas deep in the playoffs. I guess it is possible that Quinn can be the Texas version of Dilfer. I’ll be happy if that is how it plays out
  16. you are right. It was Acho
  17. The numbers are the numbers. You can believe them or not. If you want to do the work and actually prove there is a flaw in them, I welcome you
  18. Georgia is legit. That one DT was throwing DJ around. I do think Wisner is running the OZ much better. He is cutting that play back way more frequently than he was at the time of the Georgia game. Hitting inside the guard as opposed to outside the TE. Georgia speed makes it really hard to win on the perimeter (outside runs and screens) OL was credited with giving up 2 sacks vs Georgia. Lot of the issues were 2 fold. Quinn's inability to navigate a pocket (well documented) and Georgia getting good match-ups vs the TEs and RBs. People see 7 sacks and immediately say OL. That is not usually the case. Sack rates are one of the most consistent things when QBs change teams in the NFL. Flood needs to mix up his protections more. You can not allow Kirby to scheme up match-ups where NFL first round guys are being blocked by Helm and Wisner in pass pro.
  19. you do 1st half numbers. I said A&M was the perfect Quinn game. Struggled early, Heisman level 2Q, and turned the ball over the 2nd half. Everyone understands Quinn has the potential to be elite. The issue with Quinn is volatility and consistency. You never know what Quinn will show up in a game. You can say that about every quarter. He can be elite at times and absolutely wretched. so not good reads and poor decision making.
  20. This makes the assumption that people judge to first time starters that same way they react to 3rd year starters. This is basically, people are going to be pissed when Arch makes the same mistakes that Quinn does with 30 less starts.
  21. Okafor told that story. He said a fan sent an email to Coach Boom. Not sure I believe that, but good story
  22. understand, but his workload is a concern. I hope my fears turnout to be unwarranted.
