  1. Ewers was amazing. Texas was 10-16 on 3rd down and if I heard Scipio correctly the average distance was 7+ yards. That 1st half was probably 80%+ conversion rate. That is a testament to how well he played. IF that number was 35-40% (Texas was 38% last year on 3rd downs), it is a different game.
  2. They do. The whole Manning story is BS.
  3. Harbaugh doesn’t recruit to build college football dynasty. He is a great coach, but recruiting isn’t his thing. He is more Bill Synder, than Saban
  4. Michigan did exactly what people thought they would do. They blitzed. Sark had all summer to prepare for that. He abused them in the short game and Quinn was dealing. Obvious game plan was just a bad call
  5. Single Sark is svelte. Married Sark is fat.. You know what you need it do
  6. Michigan guys think Grant has the higher ceiling between the 2 (not the better player currently). He just hasnt consistently shown that. This play got a lot of pub.
  7. Grant and Graham are both projected to be 1st round guys. A new coach isnt going to really change that. To quote Charlie Strong the cake is baked. I think it takes a little while for the coaching affect to be seen. Biggest risk is at DC. MInter was great at mixing up fronts, coverages, and had ton of simulated pressures schemes that got home. Wink can can fall in love with blitzing. He is much more aggressive. He is more likely to bring true blitzes (5-6 rushers, instead of some the simulated pressures that bring 4 from various spots (Aranda type stuff if that helps).
  8. Losing Sainristil (2nd round) and Rod Moore out with injury. Keon Saab was penciled in as starter. He transferred and is starting at Bama. They liked DK Waller and he was supposed to compete for a job. He is now at Kentucky. I think the secondary has taken a a step back.
  9. If I remember correctly that Bama team mostly went man and gave Quinn easy reads. He lit them up (while he was in). Michigan is very good at mixing coverages, at least they were last few years. Michigan is better in the front. That Bama team was better in the back end. Michigan system is much more complex.
  10. He is going to be a guy that does well at the combine. He is a guy that you watch and just think this guy should be way better. Maybe one day he puts it together and hits his physical ceiling. Hope it isnt this week Strengths: Big-play speed Receiving playmaker Manufactured touches NFL size and build Concerns: Inconsistent vision Pass protection Open-field elusiveness https://www.thedraftnetwork.com/2024/06/13/donovan-edwards-scouting-report-nfl-draft#google_vignette
  11. The more I watch Edwards, the less a like him. I think he runs with blinders on and Scipio (I believe) said he is a head case. Apparently, if things dont start well he has been known to sulk on the bench. That said the guy is far from slow. He can make you pay, when they open up holes for him (if he finds them). Michigan can lull you to sleep and all of sudden Edwards pops off a big one.
  12. This isn’t that type of game. This will be the national game. Texas gets up for these types of games. I might worry about coming out flat vs someone like Kentucky. Not to mention Sark has been prepping for this game for months. Players have been prepping for months, even if the coaches didn’t tell them.
  13. Interesting stat from Fresno State game. Fresno targeted Will Johnson 8 times. Completed 5 passes for 77. 29 yards after the catch. 4 of the 5 receptions went for 1st downs. He also had a pick 6..
  14. You clearly have your opinion and state it in your typical fashion. If Sark hasn’t been prepping for Wink to blitz, then he is negligent. Your opinion also presumes that Michigan is incapable of getting pressure with 4, which is certainly debatable. If you want to bring 5 and 6 defenders consistently, I will bet on some big plays for Texas. Sark is going to run a bunch of quick game and screens, because he isn’t an idiot.
  15. Texas is going to sending plays in through the helmet radio
  16. It was 52-0, so this obviously being over-critical, but neither played consistently on the other side of the LOS. You would have liked to see them be a bit more dominant vs a weaker opponent. Played solid, but far from dominant.
  17. Bond can run with anybody.
  18. Just potential for a wet ball and strong winds, but weather predictions 4 days out are not usually very reliable.
  19. Weather could be a factor. Chance of rain and 10-20 mph winds. Not what you want to see for Texas.
  20. Definitely. Communication and situational awareness looked markedly improved. Have ot give a shout out to Lefau. LB depth was a concern coming into this season. That kid looks ready
  21. I was thinking if Michigan should play 2023 Texas defense. Play coverage and ask their 2 beasts in the middle to handle the run game. I just do not think that is in Wink's DNA. Some blitzes will get home but give up a couple explosives (especially early) and the game could get out of hand for Michigan. Only change I could see offensively out of Michigan is a heavy option game plan using Orji. Warren was in start 1, so he will probably be better, but I cant see him improving enough to make the passing game anything more than a C-. If Texas contains the run, I cant see Michigan scoring 20 without turnovers/special teams.
  22. I get it. If you are were a Michigan fan watching the CSU game. They probably thought Texas did not look physical on the LOS.
  23. He is one of the most overrated players in the country. He is a tweener. He is best on the edge rushing the QB, but he can’t hold up there in the run game. He is not great at playing a traditional LB role.
  24. I don’t think the DL played bad. It wasn’t the focus of the game plan. Defense gave up 192 yards, that doesn’t happen with bad DL play. The knock was just they were not dominant and a lack of splash plays. Good, just not dominant
  25. I saw 5.5 and 49.5. Kind of like that under there. Implying a 27.5-22 game
