  1. The game plan vs Texas is well known. Deviate from it at your own peril. Take explosives away, force Sark and the offense to be patient, and make them win in the red zone. Wyoming followed the script with DBs that run 4.9s and frustrated Texas. Bama did not with NFL players and got lit up.
  2. Are you drunk? Some of this is pure fiction. Fans never saw Rising or Kinne, so nobody ran out of patience with them. Kinne saw Colt and said I am out of here. Elhinger was just a better fit, than Shane. That was Herman call, not fans losing patience. Now how about you name the Texas QBs that started out poorly and faded away? You are going to chastise fans for their lack of patience on Swoopes, Heard, or Thompson?
  3. Texas completed a screen pass today…...to a KSU player
  4. @6th Streetis a miserable fuck, but he has a point. This Texas defense is nails vs the run. The also struggle mighty vs any hurry up passing game. It has been an issue all season. I would expect TCU and TEch to treat the Texas game like one big 2 minute drill
  5. The guy that comes to mind is Josh Allen. He got more accurate in the NFL
  6. That was a conversation during the summer, I think that ship has sailed now. I doubt Jones has gotten any work at Guard
  7. Was a big day for Westlake out there. Burke had one of his best games
  8. It’s a lot to ask from a freshman to start his first game on the road. I doubt Sark makes a change this week
  9. Whether a defender catches a ball or not is irrelevant to judging the quality of the throw. Right now I am not sure where Maalik is as an option. Today he was not serviceable for a large part of the game. We didn’t see any improvement from game 1 to game 2. I don’t think Texas wins out unless Maalik drastically improves or Quinn comes back. Sark and MM have a lot of work to do this week in practice
  10. I think you’re embarrassing yourself. It’s been widely reported that Newmann runs a lot of the same concepts and even verbiage that Sark is running at Texas. 2A has nothing to do with what offense a team runs. That doesn’t mean he is prepared for the speed of the game, just that he is familiar with the playbook
  11. The one thing for Arch is he essentially ran Sark’s offense in High school, so it isn’t going to be completely foreign to him
  12. Once KSU stopped blitzing and playing bump and run outside the easy reads were over. That was a stupid game plan. They had 0 ability to win 1 on 1 vs X and Mitchell. Bama made that mistake vs Quinn in start 2. Difference being KSU was blitzing early and also getting minimal pressure.
  13. Not sure I have ever seen a game end 33-30 game and felt like the defense came through. Welcome to Texas football
  14. Thank God, KSU didn’t follow the blue print until Texas scored 17 pts
  15. I am not convinced KSU will play very aggressive, until the the down and distance are in their favor. They know they can not play 1 on 1 with Mitchell and Worthy. They do not want to give up big plays and get behind, because the would put the game on Will Howard throwing the ball. They do not want that. The play book is out on the Texas offense. Dont give up big plays and make Texas beat you in the red zone. Blitz Maalik on favorable downs, but no need to put yourself at risk unless Texas is rolling in the run game and you have no choice.
  16. In a game where Texas needs to run the ball, you want the guy that struggles to block in and the guy that opposing defenses put a safety over the top of to be out?
  17. Guessing it is Sanders. Praying it isnt Worthy. That would be the biggest loss of the 3 mentioned
  18. I think this game is likely lower scoring than many people are predicting. Both teams want to run the ball. This could turn into an old fashion Big 10 slobber knocker. Texas has an advantage in the run game. They need to cash that in.
  19. Why? Sark went heavy run last year vs both ISU and KSU.. In both games Texas ran the ball at least 40 times. That is his answer to the 3 high. KSU has 3 DL and 2 of them weigh 245 pounds. I am going to bet Texas runs a lot of the Big 12 formation with Agbo. If KSU starts crashing down their Safeties, then Sark will throw deep. This year Texas has Mitchell and Worthy. Unlike TCU last year, KSU doesn’t have 2 NFL CBs.
  20. Need to stop the option game. Kansas ran for almost 5 yards a carry vs Texas. Their RBs were 16 for 91 (5.7 per). KSU will look at that film and try to replicate it. Secondary cant give up the easy dink and dunk, but this game will be won by running the football and stopping the run.
  21. Drunk Racing would get my vote for the next sport that needs to be in the Olympics. There is nothing more fun, than watching idiots outside a bar race. At minimum it should be part of the X games
  22. he could have been flagged for a PI on that. He was the pushing off trying to keep the defender away as he waited on the ball. Worthy just isnt as nuanced as Mitchell is at positioning his body. Watch Mitchell on the long TD throw. It is late and a moon ball. Most WRs would catch that with their chest facing the QB, giving the DB a chance to make the play. Mitchell waiting and then turns to get his body in between the ball and the defender. He catches the ball with his chest facing to the end line, almost doing a 180. That is a WR, who understands how to position his body.. Pictures probably make it easier to appreciate. This is just a great play by Mitchell on a poorly thrown ball.
  23. I havent seen the target numbers this year. I did think Sark mentioned in a press conference that Worthy was over 70% rec/target this year after being around 50% last year. (that was like 2 weeks ago). His usage has changed. I am sure someone has it. All that said Worthy is going to be Worthy. He just isnt going to make many 50/50 balls. That horse has been beaten. It wasnt a lack of effort. He could have been flagged for OPI. To be honest at 160 or whatever he is, that is not a shocker. Mitchell is the guy for that. He made a great play on the TD. He is probably the only receiver on the roster that makes that play. There are not a lot many college WRs that do. That was an NFL catch.
