  1. Banks has been dealing with an ankle injury most of the year.. I think is more about health, than regression
  2. Correct. That is view from behind. Most of this is based on a former Sooner, Spencer Tillman, losing his shit over the spot in the booth
  3. Ill never understand this. Tough to go 1st round as a traditional ILB. Being able to rush the passer is worth a couple rounds in the draft. IF you play ILB, you should pray for a chance to occasionally come of the edge.
  4. Malcolm Brown would like a word with you. You have Ingram and Brown that both have multiple NFL seasons (is Brown still in the league?)and never broke 1K season in college. 2010, 2014, and 2017 were the worst rushing teams. They happen to correlate with bad QB and OL play.. 2010 Gilbert completed 59% for 10 TDs/17ints. 2014 Swoopes 58% 13TDs, 11 ints. 2017 Elhinger/Beuchele 59.7% 18Tds/11ints. 2023 season is probably the best situation any runner has seen at Texas in a very long time. Brooks was named mid-season All-American and has never been the focus of opposing DC through 6 games. The running game is rolling, because of the passing game. Sark has even said "we pass to open up the run" in a press conference this year.
  5. I think the past RB woes are more about shitty OLs and poor QB play, than talent at RB
  6. Someone can you they are terminally sick. That does not mean you are prepared to watch it happen. Some kids will stay, because it is all about playing time next year. Some will watch that disaster and say they dont want to be a part of that dumpster fire.
  7. You just can not have 2 guards that will have a couple assignment busts a game. Despite Brook's production, Texas is a passing team.
  8. 100%. I think Texas scores vs OU with Rojo. He was better than Bijan in short yardage situations. Sometimes aggression trumps patience. The OL is blocking better this year, but still has way too many busts.
  9. I think a lot of the comments on Robertson looking good were based on the situation. He was thrown into a really bad situation and performed admirably. That doesnt mean he performed well.
  10. I am not talking about a singular game. A high level player does make quite a few plays. Thompson doesnt make quite a few plays. He has 3 interceptions in 41 games (24 starts). He is not great in the run game, due to poor fits, bad, angles, and poor tackling. His athleticism is a limiting factor in the passing game. Catalon does fly up the field. He still tackles better than Thompson. His ability to get involved at the LOS is huge in the run game.
  11. Probably because he has never been a high level player. He is physically limited. He had some bad run fills vs OU (1st down after the 4 down disaster comes to mind). PFF has him at 45 in Run defense and 29 at tackling. He sets the floor. I would say coach on the field, but that didn’t play out vs OU. Safety is an issue. Not sure it can be fixed this year, but people are going to hope someone like Williams can come and raise the level of play
  12. Right now the starting IOL needs all the time they can get..
  13. It’s true, but Thompson is playing out of position at FS. Williams is the best cover guy of the group. Feels like the staff put too much faith in Crawford and wasted camp.
  14. Seems like a bit of grade inflation here
  15. TCU’s freshman QB came in and looked amazing in start one.. Any team with a legit passing attack could give Texas issues. 3 areas of concern prior to the season were edge, interior OL, and speed at safety. All 3 of those have been an issue through 6 games. 2 of those leave Texas vulnerable vs passing teams
  16. He is a RB. He should go. The offense will be completely different next year. This year every DC is worried about Quinn, Sanders, Worthy, and AD.. Those guys are all likely gone next year. When that happens opposing DCs primary game plan will be to stop the run and make a new QB and young WRs (with a portal guy or 2) beat them throwing the ball.
  17. Tush Push is deadly in Philly, not only because of Jalen Hurts. They also have arguably the best OL in the NFL and an All Pro center… that is slightly different than what Texas sends out there.
  18. The offense is just different this year. The last 10 years everyone’s game plan was to stop the run. Nobody has come out and focused on stopping the run this year. DCs are way more focused on stopping the passing game

    PFF Thread

    @linux OU PFF results?
  20. Sark made an error, but that error wasnt playing aggressive. Texas was tied and needed to play to win. Sark did that. OU was missing 2 guys in the secondary. Playing for a 47 yard FG was not the right move. I believe Auburn was coming into the game 3 for his last 6. Sark should have continued to play aggressive and gone for it on 4th down. In the wisdom of hindsight people are pretending that kick was a lock to go through the uprights. I think Sark gets the 1st down there and he starts to worry about draining the clock. He lost his nerve after the sack.
  21. "QB finding receivers instead of focus on middle" Just wondering what this means. Quinn is completely 77.5% of his passes the last 3 weeks for 10.4 yard per attempt.
  22. Since I looked. #3 so far and #59 on the remaining .
  23. I believe Hutson is back and likely the starter at center
