  1. It's his footwork. I dont understand how a kid that has had a Qb coach since about the time he came out of the womb can have such poor footwork. It been an issue since he came to Texas and even in the Florida game, he would throw off his backfoot with no pressure. It has to be frustrating the hell out of Sark.
  2. It was simple read. Sark called play action pass and the ILB was blitzing and mugged up on the LOS. It was pretty obvious, not much to make a decision about
  3. Yes. Quinn is great with a clean pocket and 1st read is there. He one of the best QBs in the country in that environment. He has a rep for poor pocket presence and an inability to handle pressure. Only way for him to win over his detractors is to have a big game with a messy pocket. There just arent many chances for that.
  4. I dont think anyone is claiming that ball should not have been caught. Golden made a catch on worse thrown ball. That isnt the point when judging if a ball was well thrown. Great throw, WR catches it in stride. Good throw, slight adjustment for a WR. Ill explain with an example. I have said the 2nd best throw was the 1 in the flat to Blue. That was tight window (heart skipped a bit when it was thrown, that looked like it could have been picked) and hit him perfectly on that upfield shoulder. Arch is not as good at that. Being accurate on the short routes are a huge part of Sark's offense. Throw it to the back shoulder and it could be 1-2 yard gain, hit that front shoulder and you give the receiver a real chance for YAC. Catchable ball and good ball are not always the same thing. People are too caught up in the Quinn is a pussy thing, to be rational.
  5. Beck threw Bobo under the bus in the presser after the Ole Miss game. It was almost subtle, but message was delivered.
  6. they are talking about the 1st one, where Moore had to slow down and turn around to catch it (he dropped it). It was not a good throw, but good enough that it should have been caught. Ill call it effective.
  7. Kentucky has some real NFL talent on defense. That offense is bad. IF Texas defense can shut down the running game this week and next, these should be comfortable wins. I would not mind the offense getting a bit of a test before the A&M game (assuming still a comfortable win)
  8. Ill take the under on 30 for all 3 games. There will be at least one that the offense has issues with (likely UK or A&M). Ark coming off a bye. They quit vs Ole Miss, be interesting to see if Pittman got the team back. Kentucky coming off a bye and Murray St, so 3 week of prep for Texas OFEI: Texas 11, A&M 29,ARk 56, UK 69 DFEI: Texas 1, A&M 16, UK 43, Ark 51 Pts per Drive Offense: Texas 8, A&M 49, UK 107, Ark 70 Defense: Texas 1, A&M 39, UK 58, Ark 81

Tied foe 14th in Sacks in the SEC with A&M (didnt expect that) for the season
  10. I watched the first half quickly. His best throws were to Moore in the endzone and the swing to Blue. 2 other throws stood out the 1st series throw to Helm and a later a crosser to Bolden. I definitely could have missed a couple. Outside of that it was all 1st read and checkdown throws. Sark was on point in this game. Quinn played very well, but this was one of the easier games he will have (SEC defenses!!)
  11. Quinn is going to have a high completion percentage. Texas runs so many screens and swing passes. Not complaining, I am guessing Texas had over 200 yards on them vs Florida (2 TDs (bond and Wisner) and explosive from Blue (great throw on that))
  12. I saw this Texas skill players turned in their best yards-after-catch number of the year with 277, accounting for 83.2 percent of Ewers’ yardage total on the day. I think it is fair to say Bond makes a difference. That number seems a bit high, but guessing that factors in yards on catches behind the LOS. I thought I heard Babers say Bond has 5 TDs where he got the ball behind the LOS on 11 touches (screens and reverses).
  13. Just keep in mind the portal can work and it can kill you. FSU has proven that
  14. That second series was just masterful from Sark. After missing the FG on the first drive and Quinn’s first 2 throws in that 2nd series, I was thinking not this shit again. Sark called a beautiful series from that pt on, with a tip of the cap to Gibson and his effort on 4th down. The 1st 2 TDs were about as easy as gets for a QB (second being play action to Helm, OL was pass blocking not a RPO). Florida DC gave up on doing anything interesting schematically after that.
  15. It’s a bit more complex than that. If a WR is 8-10 yards behind a DB and he has to slow down and turn around to make the catch, it’s not a good throw. It’s good enough. Effective throw and good throw are not always the same. Good throw requires minimal adjustment from a WR. A great throw requires no adjustment.
  16. Quinn was very good in this game. This was a great environment for him. There was little pressure. WRs were running wide ass open all game. Quinn was able to hit his first read the vast majority of the time. Quinn is a 1st read QB. When Sark is dealing and Quinn has simple reads, he has always been one of the best passers in the country. Great confidence builder for Quinn and the offense. It’s a step in the right direction. Didn’t give us much evidence of how he will play when a defense muddies up his reads and takes away his #1 or how he will handle pressure.
  17. OK.. Yes.. The one drop was under thrown, still should have been caught though. There was the one down the seam he overthrew. Ewers best throw in a long time was the 2nd dropped TD pass by Moore. Though the throw in the flat to Blue was as very good
  18. Florida was doing some Zone drops early (the near interception was 1 of them). They pretty much abandoned it after the Helm TD.. Florida sent the MLB and the Safeties departed the middle of the field. Easiest TD pass Quinn will ever have. They lost 3 DBs in the Georgia game. I don’t think DC was comfortable mixing it up after that. Give Quinn a pocket and easy reads and he is going to cook. Good game from Quinn and the offense, but Sark had the Florida defense on a string
  19. I gave the credit to Sark on that. Quinn missed a TD (Bond) and bounced a ball off a Florida defender’s face in the first two plays of the drive. Sark deciding to go for it and getting it (thanks to Gibson’s second effort) just changed the feel of the game. Then the Bond reverse call right after. The play design on the wide open Golden play was awesome. Sark hit all the right buttons on that drive. From that point on the offense played loose.
  20. Probably a great game for PK. He gets hammer the defense about the run game right before Ark, Kentucky, and A&M. Perfect timing
  21. I really like the way he runs. I would really really like it if he held onto the ball. He is the best runner between the tackles and only downhill runner.. I thought Blue looked good m. H is just scary int he open field
  22. Felt like Sark changed the feel of the game going for it on 4th down. Then hit the suck reverse to Bond.
  23. Its PFF grades. I don think they are 100% accurate but is usually a solid barometer of play.
  24. When the season started, who had Taylen Green and Deigo Pavia as the 2 best QBs Texas would face?
