  1. Came here to post this. Shooter was a legend. That 80s run at Marvel was amazing. One of the projects he oversaw at that time was Marvel's New Universe series of titles. He worked on one called Star Brand, which I really enjoyed. That New Universe concept didn't last more than a year, but it was intriguing and had some great stories.
  2. It's been fun. Keith David is great and it's a nice '70s period piece.
  3. Couldn't get that YouTube clip to embed, but it's the excerpt from the Milius doc talking about Jaws and includes Spielberg's comments. Full doc is now on YouTube it looks like.

  5. That's not entirely accurate. John Milius wrote pages of the Indianapolis monologue for Quint at Spielberg's request. Shaw told Spielberg he couldn't remember that much material so he condensed it down after spending a lot of time reading through it. Great documentary on John Milius that includes Spielberg telling that story. It's called Milius and you can stream it for free on PlutoTV. Worth a watch, highly recommend.
  6. Shaw was great in The Battle of Bulge too. Scheider would go on to play Frank Murphy in Blue Thunder. Another excellent movie.
  7. Spielberg called John Milius at his home while production was going on at Martha's Vineyard because he felt like they were missing a scene for Quint. He asked Milius to write something for him. What Milius came back with was several pages of monologue for Quint. Shaw couldn't remember all of it, so he told Spielberg to give him some time with the pages and he'd condense it. What you see on the screen are the highlights from Milius' script. That entire scene with the monologue, Dreyfuss' quiet reaction, John Williams' music, the rocking of the ship, and the sound of a squeaky ship, makes the movie. Growing up, that was the scariest part of the film for me. Simularly terrifying is the air traffic control scene from Close Encounters. Great storytelling in both instances.
  8. Off the Bone BBQ is permanently closed and has been replaced by a Taqueria. Bud had an article earlier today about that.
  9. The penultimate episode of Clone Wars, Shattered, is perfection. For as much as everyone talks about the tension and build up in the Gorman Revolution episode in Andor S2, those 3 minutes of zero dialogue with just Kiner's score playing in Shattered are amazing! Just captures everything perfectly, outstanding storytelling. Those last episodes of CW are the best SW content since ESB. I say that as a huge fan of Andor and Rogue 1.
  10. Sounds like we got Frank as the Gaffer. Other part of the managerial change, is that it sounds like we're getting the Brentford Fitness coach too. After last year's injury issues, that might be as big a deal as getting Frank.
  11. The transfer fee for the crowbar is outside Levy's budget.
  12. Fabrizio is reporting "Here we go" with Frank as the new manager. Hopefully, Frank can bring a couple of Brentford guys with him, namely, Bryan Mbuemo.
  13. Not that I noticed, but their rolls were good.
  14. Ate there Monday night. Slightly above average.
  15. Or Eriksen, or Jan, or Toby. But we didn't have those guys, and we lost 22 out of 38 EPL matches. We set a record for most losses without being relegated. That's tough to ignore.

  17. We just told everyone out there that one spot above relegation isn't good enough. Europa isn't the mountaintop, it's an honor, but it's not the EPL title, and certainly not Champions League. Ange's record outside of his first 10 matches wasn't good. Thanks for Europa, but it was the EPL form that got him sacked. Reports coming out that his coaching staff and medical staff were at odds. It's predictable that the club would leak these kind of stories after moving on, but if there's any truth to it, one side has to move on, if not both. I would imagine the club had exit interviews with everyone and the players provided some candid feedback. Based on that, Ange was out.
  18. It's fun so far. Has a bit of of a Banshee feel to it, but not quite as over the top.
  19. Arsenal fans, and one in particular, is the reason why I abandoned the EPL season thread. The constant bitching was too much; e.g. referees v Arsenal. I had enough. Wenger complaining that the Europa Champions get a UCL spot was fun.
  20. Fuck it. Let's throw the EPL again next year and go win Champions League.
  21. IF Ange were to leave this summer, this match encapsulates why. Another home loss, questionable adjustments, not ready to play. I get the club was coming down from quite a high, but this is a sorry way to end the campaign.
  22. Brighton planning a Guard of Honor for Spurs today. Classy.
  23. Nice save Vicario! Champions League!!!!!
