  1. I'll worry about Kane next week if he hasn't shown up. Until then, I'll consider this time well spent letting his ankles rest and strengthen.
  2. Romero deal to be officially announced shortly. Had his medical in London this morning. Tanganga to Galatasaray on loan is agreed to, pending Tanganga's decision to join them. Who else do we get? Hearing Sissoko, Aurier, and Sanchez are being shopped. Sending those three packing would make my day.
  3. Agree with all points. I'm incredibly interested in how the Empire handles the Clone Army. If you watched the Rebels episodes, "The Lost Commanders" and the second part of that episode, "Relics of the Old Republic", you noticed the Empire dismissed the veteran Clones and showed frustration with them. I'd like to see what happens next.
  4. Not sure, I've never been on a Sunday, just Fridays and one Saturday. I can't imagine you would wait long. They move along pretty good.
  5. Glad you liked it. I'm going tomorrow. I've been telling anyone who will listen that Goldee's is legit. It's the best in FW for my money. It's going to suck when the Top 50 list comes out and they start getting really crowded.
  6. Cattleack is the gold standard in DFW right now. It's a shame they're only open on Thursdays and Fridays. Maybe one Saturday a month. I'd be there more often if they were open every weekend.
  7. I did not get the Turkey, but I was told it was outstanding. I continue to get the brisket, ribs, and sausage. All very good. Really enjoyed the moist brisket. See what you think.
  8. There's an article behind the Star Telegram site from last year that talks about the Flores smoker and some of their cooks coming over to Roy Pope Grocery to sell their BBQ and brisket tacos. Don't know when that's supposed to happen, but since RP re-opened, they've had a limited menu. Things might have changed though, since I haven't read much about Flores/Campo recently.
  9. Yeah, this week was fantastic. This is the overarching story line that The Bad Batch should operate within. I'd like to see more of the Empire and their origin. What's really interesting to me is what was brought up in the opening episode, the transition from Clone army to conscripted/volunteer army. Hera's backstory was fun to watch. It was brought up in Rebels, but this was great this week.
  10. I've been on three separate occasions. Once, pre-pandemic, second time was in the fall of 2020, and this last time was late March early April of this year. First time, the brisket was good but the ribs were dry as sand. The second time, the brisket wasn't very good. The third time the brisket was good, but everything else was very average. That's enough of a sample size for me to make a declaration. Especially when BBQ prices are what they are now. I spend upwards of $30 each time I go to a craft BBQ spot just so I can get a combination of brisket, ribs, sausage, turkey, pulled pork. For me to keep going back, it better be consistently great, not just "good". I'll try it again at some point, but for now, the go-to spot on weekends is Goldee's. Hands down the best in FW. Have you tried them yet? Worth the trip. It's off the beaten path, but not a bad trip. It's maybe 5 minutes off of 820 and 287. I also want to try Hurtado BBQ in Arlington. Been wanting to try it for a while now, just can't seem to make the schedule work to go over there. Anyone had that yet?
  11. I went sometime back in the spring. I first went pre-pandemic, then again back in the fall. Varying levels of success. I enjoyed Smokeaholics, it's just too bad they don't have seating. That's a major drawback for them.
  12. So, did he he cream her or what?
  13. If it's a weekday trip, you'll be limited to Heim's or Cooper's in the Stockyards. Personally, the shine has worn off of Heim's for me. They were outstanding when they were in the food truck, really good when they moved to Magnolia, extremely average once Travis and Emma opened multiple locations and a catering facility. I think they just got spread too thin. It's not bad, it's just not as good as it once was, and it's pricey. Panther City has been, surprisingly, hit or miss. Derek Allan's is average. I went to Dayne's recently and really liked the brisket, but was incredibly disappointed in the ribs and sausage. Smiley's in Roanoke was a huge disappointment, but their brisket was good. Smokeaholics off I-35 is really good, but there's no place to sit and eat there. It's a to-go spot. Heard they opened up a spot in the Crockett food hall but I haven't been yet. I hate that Flores BBQ on the trail went away, they were excellent. The best place in FW right now is Goldee's. They're in SE FW off 820 and 287. Best BBQ in the city. It'll be on the next top 50 list for sure. Pretty sure they're only open on weekends though. Excellent everything. Great bread too.
  14. "Yeah, yeah, same thing as that, but I don't give a fuck"
  15. Superman is still an outstanding flick. The first half of the movie is especially good. Donner captured the style and ethos of Superman better than anyone in that first 45 minutes. From the opening moments with Marlon Brando playing Jor-El, to the wheat field as Clark is leaving on his journey, the movie really does a good job with the source material. Glenn Ford, Terrence Stamp, the aforementioned Brando, and Susanah York, all make an appearance. And of course, the music as South Austin mentioned, is still amazing. Effects are noticeably outdated, but that's to be expected. I'll spoiler alert a 43 year old movie for those that haven't seen it. "I don't give a fuck Riggs. That's why I don't have an ulcer. I know when to say I don't give a fuck!"
  16. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0434676/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t23 Donner's cousin, not Richard Donner himself. Great character actor. Donner's Superman is superior to any incarnation of Superman that's come out since. The Lethal Weapon movies are amazing, and of course, Goonies.
  17. Fenerbahce about to announce NES. What a dumpster fire.
  18. I checked out Smiley's last Friday. Massively underwhelming. The most accurate word I can use for them is "immature". They don't understand the concept of a customer focused business model. There were three of us that went, and upon arriving, we walked right up to the counter with no one in front of us. I ordered a half pound of moist brisket, half pound of ribs, and a sausage link. The lady running the counter (I think the Pitmaster's fiancée/girlfriend) told us to have a seat in the Food Hall, and they'd call us when it was ready. No problem. 15-20 minutes later, they called us up. We thought they needed to go out to the pit to get more meat, but they never left their corner of the Food Hall. Don't know what the hold up was, but we waited around wondering what was going on. Our order was put on a sticky note, and stuck on the heating lamp over the butting board. Weird, but okay. We all thought that they had forgotten about us. Finally get our food, and I was disappointed in the portion size. My half pound of brisket was a thin sliced piece of meat. Any other place and that would have been considered a quarter pound at most. I got one rib, the size of my index finger. I asked the lady running the counter if that was a half pound of meat for each and she said yes. I was shocked. The brisket was good, not worth driving through all the construction on I-35 and Roanoke, but good. Very moist. The rib was below average. It needed to be cooked a little longer, and it was really tough. The sausage was average. The others in our group that ordered the turkey said it was good. I can't comment on that. No plastic ware to cut the sausage link or brisket with, and when I asked, the lady behind the counter said "we must be out, go around and look at the other restaurants in the food hall, maybe they have some". They didn't. Had to steal napkins from the other restaurants too, Smiley's didn't have any. No bread either. That was strange. I think this place has potential, but they need to up their game. They need to put some focus on the customer. Just a very immature operation. Goldee's is still the standard in FW for me. I haven't had Dayne's yet, but I plan on it. Maybe they can beat out Goldee's.
  19. Jesus, Sterling, and Laporte were the players mentioned. Don't know what Levy's endgame is here. I suppose he's saying no right now, in an effort to help recruit a manager.
  20. Great episode. The series is really starting to come together nicely.
  21. Jesus Christ what a shit show. Just get someone on a 12 month deal until PSG sacks Poch after their annual UCL flame out.
  22. Just wait until you get through Rebels. Then you'll see why most of us are excited with Filoni at the helm. Ahsoka and Rex were both phenomenal in that last 4 episode arc. Just quality story telling.
  23. I was completely furious at sacking Poch and hiring Jose to begin with. Bale still had something left in the tank, maybe not every match day, but he still had something left.
