  1. Yeah, Crisis Talks going on today regarding Nuno's future. Rumors that Conte might be in the fold. I'm all for Nuno leaving. I think we've had a large enough sample size to know what his philosophy is, and it's not in keeping with Levy's statement about how Spurs "need to return to their DNA". Levy won't leave, but he's not helping matters either. I was encouraged that he hired a Director, but it's looking like Paratici isn't the person he should have hired. He's the antithesis of Spurs' philosophy. It was head scratching when Levy hired someone that has no interest in his vision for the club. Paratici is too "pragmatic". On the field, what's most damning is that Spurs need a midfield. They need to cut ties with several players and go after several more. This is the sum result of Levy's refusal to sign anyone from Jan 2018 to Summer 2019. No depth, and no one prepared to step in. What happens in the next few weeks will be telling. This is Levy's most crucial decision.
  2. Nuno is a dead man walking. Paratici might as well join him. Clearly, a difference in visions between him and Levy.
  3. Well, could be flipping over to the football game full time after that.
  4. I only got to eat there once, but I really enjoyed the food (chicken fried steak) and the fantastic service.
  5. Holy shit. Jon's is coming back. I hope Bonnell pays tribute to the old location by putting up a wall you can sign as you enter. Sad story with the owner of the original one.
  6. That should do it. Poor effort by Harry. Good new is that El Clasico is starting on ESPN.
  7. COYS!!! we need a Derby win!
  8. Ate there in September, it was average.
  9. Agree with PCH. When the Pitmasters start to delegate, and spend less and less time at the pit, quality drops. Heim is the best example of this. They grew so big so quickly that Travis was running around 4 locations (Magnolia, White Settlement catering, River District, and Dallas) in less than 2 years and he couldn't spend time at any one pit. It was not as good. I really hope Goldee's doesn't follow down that path. That place is awesome, and the guys running it couldn't be any more hospitable. Their lives are about to change in a big way starting this weekend.
  10. Goldee's is a deserving number #1 TM BBQ Joint. They're my favorite in FW, and it's not even close. In addition to their BBQ, their bread is first rate. I've had Brix, and it was good. I've had Daynes, and it was good (though their ribs were below average when I went this summer). Panther City was inconsistent the times I've gone and wasn't that memorable for me. Smoke-A-Holics was fantastic too, but the carryout only option detracted somewhat. The meat wasn't as hot by the time I got to a place to eat it. Thankfully, Heim dropped down to Honorable Mention. They have slipped significantly since I first went there in 2015. It's borderline bad now. Derek Allan's is decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. 407 in Argyle isn't worth the drive but it was listed as Honorable Mention. BBQ on the Brazos slipped to HM as well. I never liked them. I thought they were severely overrated.
  11. He's great against lesser competition. He has his best games in the early rounds of the FA, the Carabao Cup, and Europa lightweights. He needs to play this way against mid-table and top 6 clubs. But I agree, if he can keep this up, we'd have a good year.
  12. Unreal. Hope this works out for the best.
  13. One of our own!!!!! Finally!!!!
  14. Did you get that bone in beef rib inside the hot dog bun? That thing looked huge when they advertised that at halftime!
  15. Yeah, I meant to mention that last Sunday. I drove by there on my way to pick up lunch, and saw cars parked everywhere. It's amazing. In fact, at lunch on Friday it was that way. Amazing.
  16. COYS!!!! Slovenia side Mura in Europa Conference play. Need a win to right the ship.
  17. All of this. The biggest problem with Kane has been primarily the lack of service and not his mental state. That lack of service comes from a shit midfield. The midfield personnel aren't creative enough, and NES's tactics have the players that are starting in the midfield playing too deep to contribute to any offense. There's a reason why we're just punting the ball from our own box to Kane and Son. Our midfielders are too spread out. That's what set up the first goal yesterday. We just punted it from a couple of yards outside our own 18 yard box up to Kane, who didn't contest the Arsenal defender, only to see it get headed back to start a counter. Didn't even try to play it out of the back with Dele, Ndombele, or Hojbjerg. The Argentines didn't exactly think through their move to play during the International Break. What a waste for everyone. How many minutes did they actually play? That was handled poorly by everyone involved. I think that the club felt like the EPL was going to issue some kind of ruling impacting all clubs, then they got caught flat footed when nothing was decided prior to Cutty and Gio hopping on a private plane right after our last game before the break. That break killed our momentum. Sell Dele, he needs a fresh start. He's looking like a headcase. Ndombele needs to go as well, if he hasn't checked out, he will by the festive period and he's too manic/mercurial. He's our second highest paid player and it's a roll of the dice week to week if he makes an appearance. After 3 managers having issues with him, he needs to so somewhere else. Go after some creative midfielders. Go after a manager that promotes attacking futbol. This is what Levy said he wanted; to get back to "the DNA of our club". Then he goes and hires a Director that doesn't share that philosophy. Go build the club around your vision, quit being contrarian to your vision by going after the first thing that glitters (Mourinho). This team started to fade in January 2019 when they sold Dembele. That was the right move since he was 32, becoming injury prone and admitted that he couldn't have kept up with the physical play in the Premier League. But, Spurs didn't have a replacement and Dembele was irreplaceable. Couple that with Eriksen leaving a year later, and that leaves a hole that hasn't been close to being filled. Poch wasn't the problem, lack of investment in the first team and not moving out dead weight was the issue. Poch should have stayed, and certain players should have gone. NES won't go anywhere for awhile, because there's no one else to come in and run the club. But, he ain't the answer. By the end of the year we need to have decided on a new manager and a list of transfer targets. Go get those players as soon as possible and get them in training before August. Sell other players as well. I think this is Kane's last hurrah. He'll go to the continent next year.
  18. I think this about sums it up. I'm old enough to remember when Levy said he wanted a manager that promoted attacking futbol.
