  1. This gal blows me away - originality pours out of her
  2. I’m not sure the above video works so here is a bonus photo to keep the ski vibes going....
  3. Me too! (My vid but let’s go!) IMG_3148.MOV
  4. I feel fortunate to have experienced the Dallas Club Scene in the early 80’s to early 90’s during my college and post college party years. Early memories of Confettis, On the Air, Video Bar, Tangos (dancing frogs on the roof), and then the Starck Club came along and became arguably the most cutting edge and electic club that Dallas and all of Texas for that matter has ever had (I remember ecstasy was sold at the bar and the colorful characters that always hung out in the Bathroom lobby and the random crazy videos in the restrooms) Then Deep Ellum revived as I remember when it was only Club Dada and Club Clearview (I attended the initial keg parties In the original building that eventually evolved into Club Clearview after they got an official liquor license). Knox Street Pub (playing pool in back room), Stans Blue Note, Stoneleigh P, the ultra preppy Boardwalk Beach Club near SMU, 2826 in deep Ellum was rocking in the early 90’s during Texas OU weekend. Borrowed Money on Central and Cowboys on Garland Road for your urban cowboy “meat market” I know I’m missing many but it is a start photos below of Entrance to Starck Club and a few match boxes I collected over the years
  5. I’m not sure about Walt Garrison...very possible but I know for a fact Donny Gay (8 time PRCA bull riding champ) got his start there.
  6. Since this thread has expanded into Arlington, I submit Old Kow Bell Rodeo in a Mansfield...1959 -2004 - demolished around 2005 now Mansfield Legacy High school sits where Kow Bell once stood. At the time, the only indoor Rodeo in the world to have rodeos every Sat night year round. In Junior High our parents would drop us off for the Saturday night rodeo not knowing that we were actually entering the junior steer riding...My short Bull riding career ended with a kick to my chin that required stitches which ruined our whole gig when all the parents found out
  7. Speaking of Johnny Marr greatness...
  8. How about a song driven by the bass guitar? Johnny Marr's greatness combined with a relentless bass🔥...
  9. 😀just noticed my error - Beauty and Essex-it’s 420 here
  10. In Vegas now...Definitely hopping last night after the UFC fight I’m a poor judge of busy because it’s been over 7 yrs since Ive been here. Our Uber driver said it was average busy in his opinion_ he said the busiest since covid was back in April when the Asian boy band BTS was here. Friday night was Absinthe - fun show. Last night Morrissy , Chris Rock tonight. Dining highlights so far are Beauty and Sussex and Lotus of Siam. Only negative I have thus far is getting my ass handed to me at the craps table:)
  11. Anyone have some good jelly/jam or other recipes? They are not ripe yet but I have heard of some folks using green grapes....
  12. We built our pens at 36' diameter circles - large enough to not have our feeders throw too close to fence to tempt the hogs or cows to lean over or try to get under and fuck up the hog wire. We had a few very athletic cows that could hurdle the 36" hog wire so we went with electric fence on top to curtail the jumping bastards.
  13. These are large feeder pens and we did 5 of them and yes, there is sporadic limestone about 5-6" beneath the surface that we hit on about 1 out of 5....Not pictured is the rock drill we use prior to setting the posts....Yes, my hunting partner is an engineer so spray paint is a requirement-haha! We also string the top of the fence with electric wire to keep the cows from messin with the pen..
  14. We used a 20 gal, 225 psi air compressor and a regular small generator - 4000 kva I think....See below the requirements - looks like 70 psi minimum https://www.rohrermfg.com/post-drivers/98e-basic-man-saver-t-post-driver/
  15. Lats are low on my priority list at this point in my illustrious and well lived life. I'm really into the art of how to work smarter, not harder...Im a slow learner but catching on pretty quick now😄
  16. Well I tried to post a vid but failed so here is a photo...
  17. Installed some new feeder pens this weekend. I introduce you to the “ManSaver” - quite possibly the greatest poor man invention known for driving T posts. It feels like cheating and I love it! (Too bad this thing wasn’t around when I was 18 and spent a whole f’ing summer constructing a horse pen:)
  18. Agreed. There isnt' really any sub par anything in Switzerland;) Ive never even seen a junky house or car while traveling there. I have visited Zermatt, Saas Fe and LAAX. In my experience, Euro skiing is much different than North American skiing in that Euro skiing is more like ski touring as you can ski to and from adjacent towns so there is alot of horizontal skiing rather than the up and down of North America ski resorts. In LAAX, our Swiss friends would plan our day by picking out which restaurants and bars we would be skiing to that day like planning a road trip! Euros love their Carving! Our swiss friends would freak out when I would ski off into some ungroomed moguls or powder off piste:) Euro skiing is a really great experience for the culture and amenities but after skiing there and in South America, I still contend the best snow, best consistent conditions, and terrain, and tree skiing in the world is in the NW and Western North America - you really cant beat what we have in the states....Japan is still on my bucket list. Photos below are from LAAX:
  19. I highly recommend Brushbuck for a guided tour: https://brushbucktours.com/ They have customized mercedes sprinter vans in a small group of 6-8 people with large windows and the guides know where the wildlife is. They took us to several spots outside of YNP on the drive from Jackson Hole to see Moose and antelope. It is a very efficient way to cover the highlights of YNP if you are not familiar with it. The guides can park up front at all tourist areas, they know all the interesting history and tidbits, they have spotting scopes for your use, and we amazingly saw a wolf which is not very common and I am sure we would never have seen one without our guide.
  20. Ascona - Highly recommend Ristorante Seven Ascona on the boardwalk of Lake Maggiore. A Michelin guide pick. Had a really nice meal there almost a decade ago so nothing current but the view of the lake was as good as the food. Super creative menu.
