  1. I have skied more double blacks in my 40's and 50's than I ever did in my 20's and 30's....I am actually a much better skier in my 50's than at any age - mostly because I have the time/mountain home and funds to ski more than when I was younger. Both my kids are fortunate I afforded them the ski life since they were 3 yrs old and both are very advanced skiers that can ski anything most mountains can offer so they keep me young trying to keep up with them. That being said, I have severely snapped/torn both right and left calf muscles in almost back to back years that occurred 3 years ago. Both injuries were in double blacks and both were tight tree runs. I have fully recovered both calves and I now am back to skiing double blacks but I have limited the tight tree runs and when I do ski them I slow way down and don't try to "rip" them like I used to...Getting old sucks but damn I love to ski so much it is worth the risk and pain that comes with it...I sometimes ski with a guy that is 76 years old and can "rip". He is my hero....I hope to still be making meaningful turns when I am in my 70's.... This! I don't try to slug it out anymore on the double blacks when conditions are not perfect - too old for that. But, when the powder and coverage is there, I will dive in for a taste every now and then.
  2. Fire sucks and hopefully more rain on the way for some of us early next week! For those who haven’t burned up, good luck thIs weekend chasing the Toms. They are looking to be in the mood here of late
  3. A bush pilot we had in Alaska who takes private groups to watch Grizzlies told us that when you hear a griz "click" his jaw it is usually the last thing they do before they charge. It apparently is their last expression of agitation before they act.....I hope I never hear that sound....
  4. Just got back from skiing Taos on Mon and Tues - magical, glorious conditions and weather. 50+ inches in March and snowing again today.....

  14. Wow. Ridiculously big. We just don’t have any that big in our place. Out of hundreds of hogs we have seen or shot, not sure we have any that are 300 lbs....
  15. I agree we have been killing and watching hogs on our place for a few years. Tonight we shot these 3 rascals and before we weighed them I guessed the largest was atleast. 275...WRONG! These weighed in at 220lb, 212lb and 168lbs. The 212 lb was almost 6 feet long when strung up! A 300 lb is Def a freak!!!
  16. Why does it take a women longer to orgasm than a man? Who cares?
  17. Now , if this was a turkey contest, we might have a better chance as they have been eating the hell out of it during the day. Spring turkey will def be game on. They have been killin our sauce piles🦃
  18. 378 will be hard to beat! We are entered into this contest as well. We have been saucing them for 3 weeks now and tomorrow we hunt them for the first time (ice storm f’d is the first weekend) we think we have a few over 300...we will find out tomorrow ! Here are a few we think might be 300+
  19. Very cool. Keep us updated on the progress!
  20. HAHA very true and Lake Como, its people and restaurants were awesome. I was just trying to emphasize the drastic driving conditions compared to well, just about anywhere. We were there in peak touristo time around mid July and it was very busy to say the least😄
  21. Lake Lugano, Verzasca River Valley, and Lake Maggiore are just across the border in Switzerland - Super nice places with many great restaurants. My favorite activity we did while there was swimming and hanging out on the Verzasca River. I highly recommend Restaurante Seven in Ascona on Lake Maggiore - we were there 10 years ago and it was rated one of the top 10 restaurants in Switzerland at that time - not sure now but it was an amazing dining experience. Driving....I see lots of recs for renting and driving and I agree driving is awesome but after driving in Switzerland for a week with a very regimented highway system and very calculated Swiss driving populace, the transition into Italy around Lake Como scared the living shit out of me - very narrow roads, cars parked on both sides, maybe 1' clearance on either side, crazy, less regimented Italians weaving around, and speeding with their hot blooded mannerisms which seemed hotter than the more laid back Swiss so it really put me on edge haha - we still talk and and laugh about it to this day in our family....
