  1. “Son, some things in life are more important than you. This is one of those things. You might as well learn to enjoy it.”
  2. From cloudy London, boarding a flight to get back to the States in time for the game, FIGHT!!!!
  3. I never realized he was also a hand model with very feminine hands. That makes his gifted throwing even more impressive.
  4. So, the main difference between that and a normal Sooner academic being the blood coming from the ears?
  5. Texas - 45 OU - 28 Prop - 237 yards Bonus: Every year I go into this Saturday fully expecting Texas to win. That’s my best/worst/funniest story all in one.
  6. Just popping in to agree that, yes, OU does indeed suck.
  7. Let’s go stomp the fuckers and take a couple of their recruits back home with us. WR and a DL or LB?
  8. Great catch! Worthy having the game we’ve been waiting for!
  9. Ha, yup, I was not in my right mind when posting that.
  10. My takeaways The Ugly Tech converting 6-8 fourth down attempts. The Bad: Conservative game plan on both sides Run blocking, especially inside Lax defensive effort, especially late Secondary The Good: We are probably 4-0 with Ewers at the helm The Mind-boggling: How the wrapped up QB fumbles and then gets a 1st down because he recovers his own fumble. The Meh: Review booth essentially not reviewing anything, especially that 3rd down whittington catch
  11. I wanted to offer an apology to this thread, @closetojumping, and @sydneycarton. I realize I gave my opinions as a passionate, but casual, fan to guys directly in the weeds with the current recruiting situation and administration. I’m very encouraged by the direction of the team and program and appreciate everyone who has a part in making that happen. I’ll try to be better in the future.
  12. I heard Dusty and Danny call for a march on the NCAA over the Overshown call. It was their first segment this morning. Danny (former FSU QB) called it, “incidental contact.” Helmets are big. Seeing that Auburn one from last year, they look eerily similar, but there might be even less head contact in the Auburn one (but more launching as described above).
  13. Most playground bullies I ran into did exactly as you described without resorting to fists. They shouted, belittled, and tried to berate using profanity their targets into submission. Fists meant they could get hurt, which they avoided. I do thank you and CTJ for your work towards making this happen organically, especially for the O-line and keeping Worthy around last year. I read what CTJ says and take in the info, but we’re allowed to disagree with parts of it, hence my WR room assessment disagreement. However, your Liucci reference is most apropos in that you’re trying to treat this as your little fiefdom. I picked up my burnt ends today FWIW. Carry on.
  14. Stop trying to be a playground bully. This isn’t the forum to discuss CDC further, but bringing up Jimbo as a comparison is pretty dang funny. We currently have a top 2-5 recruiting class per the ranking services (including the number one overall player), it looks like we’re trending for Hale tomorrow, momentum heading into the conference schedule, and we didn’t get killed in last years TP. Recruiting isn’t in a bad place.
  15. Re: it being stupid and shortsighted - Perhaps, but CDC is the CEO and CEOs like to be in control, for better or worse. I also don’t think any of us should accuse CDC of being shortsighted just yet.
  16. I feel like the reticence by CDC to hand over/nudge BMDs towards collectives makes sense. One of his main calling cards at TCU was his fundraising abilities for major projects. He’s dealing with the entire athletics department and probably has long term plans for future projects. Opening the doors to the BMDs puts more hands in the cookie jar, and means less firepower to pull out in big chunks when he needs it. I see it as a wait and see mentality. If we’re humming along without him giving up the ferrari keys, he’s going to hold onto them. So far so good with regards to the recruiting of freshman. The TP arms race, if it is occurs, isn’t upon us yet.
  17. We had a crazy number of pressures vs UTSA if I remember correctly. We’ve just played two very mobile and experienced qbs out of three games. 3 if you count ULMs guy who was more mobile than he was a thrower. Sacks will come, but I’m loving the pressures. They’ll lead to more incompletions, interceptions, and havoc.
  18. No doubt, but they have to get clicks some way. I just think it'd be fun to see the Family Circus style treasure map at the end.
  19. Much like early season rankings, this table suffers from a paucity of information. We'll see wild variation week over week until mid season at the earliest. I'd like to see this later in the season with an individual team tracked week over week.
  20. Sark seems to definitely be building something. The energy in Longhorn nation and takes from national media definitely point to that. Bigger than that, the team sure seems to believe. In the first three games, I’ve been really impressed by his game planning and adjustments when needed. He seems to be able to push the pressure points to the breaking point to create explosive plays. If Ewers is healthy, I’m guessing we lose two of OU, OSU, KSU, and Baylor, but we could also win them all. I don’t see us losing to the lesser teams in the conference this year, and that, in my mind is more important than the overall win total at the end of the year. Please be right!
