Any of y’all ever played EMG’s in a Strat?
I haven't, but this dude has:
If they turn out to be the DG20 pickups in the loaded MoTS pickguard and you're looking to swap them out, holler at your boy.

I've heard the Sleepwing Gods campaign is about 20 hours long, which isn't too crazy compared to games like Gloomhaven which can get into triple digits.
In other news, I'm about to get into ANOTHER over-long campaign game and see what all the fuss is about, Kingdom Death: Montster.
Here's the White Lion sorted...
Still need to finish painting the starting survivors, but was too anxious to get statrted.

Finally got Sleeping Gods to the table. A little more side quest focussed than similar titles, like Tainted Grail, but also such a rich, well-realized world that's fun to visit.
And started the Nemesis Untold Stories campaign with some friends. We liked it so much I went and picked up all the Free League Alien RPG stuff, including the Fantasy Grounds module, and started putting together a group to run through that as well. SciFi Horror may be my thing.

Yeah, but Amazon had the 3D version for $140 on a recent sale. Your point stands, it's a pricey experience, however the kids have never asked to play Tainted Grail or Nemesis again and they demanded to play Catan after the first game and the next night. Might have been money well spent after all. I'm for doing whatever to get them excited about spending time together.
I'm still working on getting Etherfields to the table a first time, though not with the kids.
We, the gaming group, have played Nemesis many times, and everyone digs the hell out of it. Carnomorphs are queued up next. -

I’m really both a collector and a player. As a player, the answer is D28. As a collector, it’s still D28 but the LP is a lot closer than the firebird which is wayyy closer than an 04 master built srv. There’s a world where the strat could move up if like… this is my only guitar and I take a pill where I don’t think the vintage element is super cool and at that point I’m ranking “have a strat” vs have a Les Paul. But it’s D28 every time. Also the rick can get in on the action.
The in-house luthier said the Custom Shop Masterbuilt SRV with the Ybarra-made overwound modified Texas Specials was one of the nicest, most sonically impressive guitars he's ever played. The Les Paul had a "killer" tone but was a fight to play. The Martin was a fucking 1944 D-28 and every bit the part.
For making music he picked the SRV.
I still pick the Les Paul because I can't get past the fact it's a primordial Les Paul and I would kill to have something from the top of the family tree.

The Martin was so clean it looked like NOS. It's a single owner guitar that spent most of its life in a closet. The only work done is a replacing of the pegs which developed cracking and a rebracing which was done by Martin. It's the only one on the wall that I played (I only held the Les Paul) and it sounded like angels singing.

This wall has something for everyone, but if you could only pick one, putting aside raw value, which one would you get? ('56 Les Paul, '64 Firebird, '04 Masterbuilt Number One, '44 D-28)
Side note, as part of the provenance papers with the Firebird, it belonged to Nikki Sixx (bassist, I know, but it's the guitar most similar to the bass he's most identified with).-

Agree to disagree (otherwise bona fide hits from the 50s would no longer be hits because no one knows them anymore). This thread creates nothing but exceptions, because this is a list of favorite one-hit wonders, but there is a loooong list of songs that charted to the number 1 spot that have been lost to time in the popular sense.

Technically, Jimi Hendrix was a no-hit wonder.
EDIT: All Along the Watchtower hit 20, though. I guess that counts as a hit (even though I think of hits as top 10 or even top 3 type things) so I guess I'm technically talking out of my ass.

Of the masturbation subgenre of one-hit wonders, in addition to The Safety Dance that was mentioned, I'll add:
"I wonder if the guy who came up with the phrase 'one-hit wonder' ever came up with anything else." - Demetri Martin

Great name!
In other news, on the flight from Austin to L.A. I noticed a dude get on with an old beat up Fender case. When he sat near me I asked him what was in it. He said, "Buddy Holly's Telecaster" and I mentioned how interesting that was since he's so identified with Strats. He mentioned how he went from an Ensquire to the Tele and I was floored. Never heard that before! The guy turned out to be Randall Bell, Leo Fender biographer (whose book with Phyllis Fender is available on Amazon). Very cool guy, (even showed him a pic of the music room to prove I was a kindred spirit) we talked quite a bit and when we arrived at LAX I made a joke about it being a win that we were flying with one of Buddy Holly's guitars and we landed safely. The plane landed better than the joke which surprised me cause that shit's funny.
In the terminal he opened the case to let me see the guitar. He opens it up and it turned out to be Buck Owens' Telecaster! A-ha! His mind mustve been somewhere else and Buddy Holly's name slipped out. All of sudden our conversations made much more sense and all my references seemed less like I was a crazy person who only talks about Buddy Holly to strangers. (Inside the case I noticed an email from Redd Volkaert outlining the provenance, as if this guitar needed it.)
He let me hold it which was surreal. I grew up on Buck Owens and classic country. Bakersfield sound > Nashville sound.
Super cool guy. He's opening a Leo Fender museum in Fullerton where this guitar will be featured.-

I like overwrought super deluxes with everything but the kitchen sink thrown into a large hologramed box of which I'll probably listen to only the title LP which was available stand-alone for a mere fraction of the price. It's how I seem to roll.

To that end, the LZ collection is rounding out...
In my defense, though, I've been pretty good about reading the books. And the Zep books in these super deluxes are phenomenal. Tons of ephemera I've never seen. Love the context that stuff provides.
And you people that dig those dinky old pressings that damn near fold over themselves when you hold them are animals. 180g or gtfo, respectfully.
