Saw this one live. One of the best imo:
The Dance version of Silver Springs is one of the greatest moments in live rock music ever. EVER.

Visiting the GOAT has been on my bucket list since I found out what a bucket list was. Did not disappoint. Chills, man.

Dummy loads are the secret sauce. Switching away from a live amp without some way to absorb the load could ruin your weekend.

$800 at Zzounds. Yikes. There are only a few products on the market that do what Kahayan does, and Kahayan does it cheapest. Their amp selector is tits. The dream is to have one totally weaponized 1960 cab and just collect heads.
I just need to find one on Reverb or eBay...

Running a 10GB LAN with the brains of the whole operation being a Netgear XS716T 10GB switch.
Netgear XS716T switch
Netgear ReadyNAS 626X, 10GB bonded (round robin) connection, stacked with 10TB x 6 WD Red Pros housing media (Plex server), backups, and general storage (including 4k video I am able to edit across the network to a 10GB-enabled PC in my office)
Netgear Nighthawk X10 (R9000), connected via SFP+ to the switch
Netgear EX8000 Extender (Orbi-based mesh)
Google Nest thermostats x 3
7 Smart TVs (6 Samsung) pulling media off the NAS via Plex
Samsung Smart Fridge (Family Hub model with the screen on the door that can show who's at the front door, among other things) and Samsung FlexWash washer and dryer that is accessible by all the TVs (you get notifications on the screen when the refrigerator door is left open or when the clothes have finished their was cycle, for instance)
Rachio 3 smart irrigation controller
Ring Pro doorbell
LTS 5-security camera hub, networked and accessible from anywhere, and Brinks security monitoring everything from the door locks to the garage door, with activity updates pushed to the phones
Pioneer mini-split AC system, wifi enabled, used to maintain and monitor temperature and humidity in a music room with wooden instruments
Amazon Echo Show x 4 (along with smartphones, used to monitor the Ring doorbell, irrigation controller, a split AC system in the music room, and the wall unit in the game room)
Weber Genesis LX II grill with bluetooth temperature probes I check with a tablet on the kitchen counter for monitoring my sweet sweet meats (but an even smarter grill, like some pellet variety, is probably in the near future)
I've been thinking about moving over to a Unifi backbone - The Netgear handles handoffs from the base router to the extender well enough, but I can't help but feel it could be faster. I do love, however, the Nighthawk X10 router, though it is getting long in the tooth. If Netgear, or anyone, made an updated router with SFP+ I'd probably jump on it (If the AX12 had SFP+ this would have been done yesterday, or do I just bite the bullet and upgrade to a 12-stream Wifi6 and aggregate a couple of CAT6's to the switch? Decisions, decisions). As it is, the Nighthawk X10 runs 802.11 ac/ad which still hums right the fuck along.

I was just looking at these, so that hits close to home.

Did Art Garfunkel write ANY of their songs?
No, that was a lie la-lie-lie lie la-lie.

Honestly, other than Mother I don't think I can name another song by him.
Yeah but I should have included RJD in there. Stuff with Rainbow, sabbath, and solo really showed his chops as a singer/performer.
Give Twist of Cain (with backing vocals by James Hetfield, no less), She Rides, and Dirty Black Summer a listen.
Suuuuub-question: Was Thrall-Demonsweatlive the most underrated live release of the early 90s? No? Okay. Regardless, John Christ is one of the most underrated metal guitarists ever. But that is a story for another day, dear reader.

Y'all really going to bat for George Harrison over John Lennon post-Beatles? *checks calendar and sees that it is still 2020* Ah, I get it.

Yeah, you'd quicker be able to count the songs that aren't open G. Keef was big on doing the least amount of work as possible. (Insert some witty Exile on Main St. joke/corollary here.)

Sweetwater has this demo. I bet they will drop it down a bit more. Capri Orange may not be the best Strat color, but the HSS configuration is always great.
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StratPHSSPCO--fender-player-series-stratocaster-hss-capri-orange?cond=StratPHSSPCOd1Saw that. Buttercolor though.
It still surprises me how much guitar you can get for ~$600 these days.

Anyone have the ins on a good Mexican Strat for sale? Have a nephew who wants to start learning...

I would have thought Mike Patton would have gotten more run up in here. Not GOAT status, but if you put some pure frontman proteins in a test tube and scienced it for a bit you might grow a Mike Patton.
EDIT TO ADD: Team Freddie.

My band in high school did one gig not in a garage and it was at the talent show. We ended up having our time ended by what seemed like an army of assistant principals after we ended our scheduled song with Another Brick in the Wall, pt 2, which was not approved, obviously. By the time they knew what was up the audience was singing along with the chorus.
We were banned from performing in any future talent shows, which kinda sucked because I was a junior with one more shot at the big time next year.
We stole the idea from a Pearl Jam bootleg. It made us musical gods for the rest of the year. It was badass. Thank you, Eddie.

Have been able to try out a lot of games these past few weeks. All good stuff. In fact, spent last weekend visiting family and they insisted on playing Detective: City of Angels back-to-back-to-back (I was the Chisel, sort of the game's GM, for all of them) and even I was starting to suck wind.
Rebellion
Horrified
Tiny Towns
Quacks of Quedlinberg
Lisboa
Cloudspire
Glen More II Chronicles
Edge of Darkness
Detective: City of Angels

I'm surprised the Armada didn't become more popular. I thought Ernie Ball really came up with something unique and stylish. I get the Dorito or pizza slice thing, but in black and white livery, as well as a few other color combos, it works. Like, in a if-ZZ-Top-went-to-church kinda way.

Here is my One Year Anniversary Shelfie. Started from the Trivial Pursuit variants and Bed Bugs and now we here.
The Milton Bradley types are not long for the world. Shelf space is becoming precious. Sorry Christmas Story: The Board Game but I'm not the man I used to be.
The 4x4 Expedit is about to get replaced with a 5x5 Kallax to help tame the beast. Pour one out for yet another retired Expedit.
What started with Battleship has become an obsession with grand epics like Nemesis, Tainted Grail, and 7th Continent, thinky Euros like On Mars, The Gallerist, and Barrage, and quirky yet compelling oddities like Too Many Bones and Edge of Darkness. In fact, the latter two are on my desert island list, along with Scythe, Rebellion, and Root. Well, they all bow down to Dungeons and Dragons, but, to me, that's really a different animal.
Here's to the next 365 days.- 6

The 3rd known photograph of Robert Johnson JUST surfaced. It was in the collection of his 94 year old stepsister.
Kind of a big deal.

Gorgeous guitar, Paul.
Full disclosure on the black Strat, it is the '92 Deluxe that came with gold Lace pickups. I liked how they sounded, but I like gainy dirt more, and those single coils were just too noisy when the pedal stack gets more than 1 deep and I need all the crutches I can find. So I opted to swap out the Laces for some Fender Gen4 Noiseless which reviewed well. But, Fender only offer Noiseless pickups in white in the Clapton signature so I went ahead and changed over the plastics to "aged white" to match the pickups and churched up the pick guard too.
I fired it up and it sounds like shit. I'm pretty sure I screwed up the grounding. I'm gonna just tear it all down the redo all the electronics, solder and rewire with thicker gauge while I'm at it.
