    Pink Floyd

Today is the anniversary of the first single released by Pink Floyd, Arnold Layne (1967). Spin some Relics to celebrate, imo.
  2. Is that armoire from Queen Anne's personal collection?
  3. Only vaguely guitar related: So I had a table built. Guy asked what I wanted for the top. I really only know a couple of woods and wood looks and they are all guitar tops. I tell him "flame maple." He asks "WTF is flame maple?" I text him a pic of Slash's guitar. A month later this was delivered. I'm like "Where's the burst, homie?"
  4. "My dad grew up a Jimbo Fisher fan." Lolwut

    Nirvana

    Top 5 All Time.
  6. Black. Just like God intended.
  7. Speaking of speakers, I just dropped this into the Princeton RI because I can't sit still.
  8. I wonder what that RI would have sounded like with the worn in speaker from the '67 (original Oxford?) instead of that brand new Jensen.
  9. Check out the '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. You'll save quite a bit over the '65 RI with the option of the tuned channel in addition to the Blackface channel. It's the best deal Deluxe Reverb going. (The custom channel is a tuned up Bassman stack designed for modern pedal playing.) And it has that sexy sexy drip edge.
  10. Jackson, MS Guitar Center, on multiple visits, had some dudes making me want to pull up a stool and listen.
  11. Probably have people coming in all the time asking to demo a Strymon BigSky, the official reverb of the Southern Baptist Convention.
  12. In unrelated related news, I'm about to restring my M-II with the Floyd Rose. May God be with me in this hour of need. Amen.
  13. The only pic I took at the place was the Ultrafoot I posted in the pedal thread a month or so ago. But, yeah, this place was so stacked they even had an Ultrafoot.
  14. I went to a rando Guitar Center in BFE Ft. Lauderdale that looked like that, an old unassuming strip style that looked like a hold-over from the 70s. I stopped because I always go into GCs when I come across them, but I wasn't expecting much just doing my due diligence. Turned out to be a Platinum Guitar Center with a crazy deep inventory, including more Gibson Custom Shops than I'd ever seen under one roof and an amp wall that went 15 feet high. I still dream of that place. /csb
  15. Feeling called out af right now. https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/joe_bonamassa_thinks_you_dont_need_a_lot_of_money_for_great_sound_says_paul_reed_smith_is_just_another_corporate_guy_now.html?fbclid=IwAR122uwQMnvTZCFKySo05U7ejX-RS_PjO8vCeDh0dYvI8vx7Wx2xBDHzl54 (Side note: I own a Hot Rod DeVille and think every player should own some flavor of Hot Rod. They are near perfect amps.)

    Peter Tork RIP

He was older than I thought. RIP to a member of a favorite group of mine growing up. On the sitcom, Peter often stole the show.
  17. Marshall has made a special run of the Astoria Custom in vintage livery, only available here and at quite a fetching price: https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/180720329884008--marshall-ast2c-astoria-combo-black-with-gold-piping
  18. What a noob, rolling with that Echorec. Hasn't he seen the new hotness, Strymon Volante. (For real do, seeing EJ with any sort of digital modeling would be a sign of the end of days and we would have to prepare accordingly.)
  19. Would. (Side note: I may have put a reserve on that silly Vemuram TS model with the Jan Ray integrated.) (Side side note: I would not have done the same if someone integrated a Timmy. I am a complicated person.)
  20. Lost cat. Goes by the name Saxon. Last seen in the music room. No reward.
  21. I'm sure I don't know what you mean. Should'a known y'all are already on top of things!
  22. Speaking of Princeton: https://guitar.com/news/gear-news/fender-releases-62-princeton-chris-stapleton-edition/
  23. Drop a notification on eBay to watch for 4 Ohm Hot Plates and just sit on it until one comes across for >$150 (the 4 Ohm is the least popular version and has a buyer-friendly resale value). With patience you'll come across one for $125 or so out the door. That's not a lot of scratch to unleash the chained fire-breathing dragon you got sitting in the corner. No offense to Princeton in the slightest, but when a Twin is pushed it's an entirely different animal.
