  1. Owens ended up committing that day. I'm not saying my choice of shirt that day had anything to do with it, but I'm not saying it didn't.
  2. Are we in agreement that Cowboys From Hell is the first album? I am fine being ignorant of those other 4. Lewl.
  3. Funny you mention that. There was a guy, looked like he never left the 80s, going bonkers and I was about to just pull up a stool and watch the show. He was on a Bugera something or other though, which is just about the opposite of a Brown Eye. Still, he made it sing. And they had a BE-100 in white livery in the corner of that back room. Sexy af. Nobody puts Baby in the corner and shit.
  4. Do it. I'd like to start this morning with a good judging.
  5. It's worse than before. It's like they had a plan then changed to a whole new plan midway. I thought the place was closed.
  6. Also at Guitar Center today. In L.A. reppin because we own this town now. If you ever have a chance, the vintage/platinum room in the back of the Sunset location is worth putting up with the crowds and the parking. Found Slash, too.
  7. Oh snap! How could I forget this one! I am disappoint in myself. LOL. Dude.
  8. I don't think Mick Fleetwood, and especially John McVie, have the type of input that define a band's identity like Zappa did. Zappa was a constant, THE constant. Mick and John aren't that type of constant. Maybe if Christine McVie was the primary creative voice to bridge the group's identity before and after Lindsay and Stevie joined you'd have a strong point. But she wasn't.
  9. Congrats on the amp AND the fiancee!
  10. Truth. Found a rig rundown from this tour that covers the pedals. So crisis averted.
  11. Blech. Negatory. A band is more than a name, and if that lineup, with its entirely new direction, voice, and sound, isn't considered a whole new band then the term is near meaningless. That they didn't change the name is immaterial.
  12. Tapa formatting shit all wrong. Had anyone mentioned Stuck in the Middle With You by Stealers Wheel yet? If not, someone should.

Sounds smart, practical, and economical. No thank you.
  14. Saw Ariel Posen tonight. Been following him since seeing him in the Guitar Paradiso episodes on Anderton's YouTube channel. Didn't know he could also sing until his single "Fade" dropped last week. Talented dude. Played a Suhr strat through a Two Rock Classic. Sounded awesome. I ended up talking to him after the show and completely forgot to scope out his pedal board, and that is what I was more interested in!

Wait until you buy your first $1000 stylus. Shit, wait till you buy your first $150 stylus. Lifting the needle to find a mass of gunge sucks donkey dong. Also, generally speaking, cleaning a record, there's something soothing about it - not unlike the whole hobby itself. It's a process that is itself satisfying. Also, the Pro-ject and VPI cleaners are a fucking vacuum in an ugly industrial housing that just screams overkill. I love it when things scream overkill.

After watching a bunch of Pro-ject VCS demos, that one is on the list. But fuck, I could just rebuy the records I would clean several times over instead of buying that cleaner and come out ahead.
  18. Pushmonkey: Pushmonkey is the first name that came to mind. The Hunger: Devil Thumbs a Ride was the second.
  19. I haven't lived all that long, in the grand scheme of things, but I have never seen a tortoise shell toilet seat.
  20. (Side note: I count Bleach, but I don't count Opiate as Tool's first real release. I'm a complicated person.)
  21. Jimi Hendrix: Axis: Bold As Love Fleetwood Mac: Rumours (I don't give a fuck) Carole King: Tapestry (I mean, come on. This might be your leader.) Black Sabbath: Paranoid Metallica: Ride the Lightning The Beatles: With the Beatles (Or Please Please Me depending on how you score My Bonnie) Queen: Queen II Cream: Disraeli Gears RATM: Evil Empire Rush: Fly By Night Nirvana: Nevermind (shrug, I'm counting Bleach!) And my favorite sophomore release Smashing Pumpkins: Siamese Dream
  22. Does someone have that graphic comparing the conference records that includes Mizzou, aggy, and Texas? Help a brother out.
  23. 1. Totally new band, sound, and direction, imo. Clock reset with "Fleetwood Mac." 2. Yeah, you's right. In my mind, Michael pre-Quincy isn't even a thing. But, yeah, he cut some songs before. Mark him off then.
