  1. Congrats on the amp AND the fiancee!

  3. Truth. Found a rig rundown from this tour that covers the pedals. So crisis averted.
  4. Blech. Negatory. A band is more than a name, and if that lineup, with its entirely new direction, voice, and sound, isn't considered a whole new band then the term is near meaningless. That they didn't change the name is immaterial.
  5. Tapa formatting shit all wrong. Had anyone mentioned Stuck in the Middle With You by Stealers Wheel yet? If not, someone should.

Sounds smart, practical, and economical. No thank you.
  7. Saw Ariel Posen tonight. Been following him since seeing him in the Guitar Paradiso episodes on Anderton's YouTube channel. Didn't know he could also sing until his single "Fade" dropped last week. Talented dude. Played a Suhr strat through a Two Rock Classic. Sounded awesome. I ended up talking to him after the show and completely forgot to scope out his pedal board, and that is what I was more interested in!

Wait until you buy your first $1000 stylus. Shit, wait till you buy your first $150 stylus. Lifting the needle to find a mass of gunge sucks donkey dong. Also, generally speaking, cleaning a record, there's something soothing about it - not unlike the whole hobby itself. It's a process that is itself satisfying. Also, the Pro-ject and VPI cleaners are a fucking vacuum in an ugly industrial housing that just screams overkill. I love it when things scream overkill.

After watching a bunch of Pro-ject VCS demos, that one is on the list. But fuck, I could just rebuy the records I would clean several times over instead of buying that cleaner and come out ahead.
  11. Pushmonkey: Pushmonkey is the first name that came to mind. The Hunger: Devil Thumbs a Ride was the second.
  12. I haven't lived all that long, in the grand scheme of things, but I have never seen a tortoise shell toilet seat.
  13. (Side note: I count Bleach, but I don't count Opiate as Tool's first real release. I'm a complicated person.)
  14. Jimi Hendrix: Axis: Bold As Love Fleetwood Mac: Rumours (I don't give a fuck) Carole King: Tapestry (I mean, come on. This might be your leader.) Black Sabbath: Paranoid Metallica: Ride the Lightning The Beatles: With the Beatles (Or Please Please Me depending on how you score My Bonnie) Queen: Queen II Cream: Disraeli Gears RATM: Evil Empire Rush: Fly By Night Nirvana: Nevermind (shrug, I'm counting Bleach!) And my favorite sophomore release Smashing Pumpkins: Siamese Dream
  15. Does someone have that graphic comparing the conference records that includes Mizzou, aggy, and Texas? Help a brother out.
  16. 1. Totally new band, sound, and direction, imo. Clock reset with "Fleetwood Mac." 2. Yeah, you's right. In my mind, Michael pre-Quincy isn't even a thing. But, yeah, he cut some songs before. Mark him off then.
  17. Or Rumours. Or Thriller.
  18. Nut Sauce. For when you're done playing around.
  19. Cosmi needs more love.
  20. Went with Slash because Alice in Chains doesn't exist and I could probably only hang with Keyshia Cole for about 2 songs. Maybe.
  21. The next pedal that's going to fix all that is wrong with my tone is one I've been on the waiting list for since October 2016. It seems the lead time is just at 2 years, so I'm due next month. Does anyone here own or has anyone here played with an Analogman King of Tone? (If so, recommend me some build customization options beyond white casing, cause your boy is def getting that mamma jamma in white) I haven't played with one but the reviews are stellar and the thing is on some king ding-a-ling boards out in the wild. It goes for a $200 premium over retail, and I've come dangerously close to just pussying out and getting one off eBay. The trials and tribulations I've endured during this 2-year wait should prove to you and me and my therapist that I do have self control. Maybe even the greatest self control of all time. Dunno.
  22. Since the football team sucks I had to partake in a little retail therapy. Picked up 2 pedals that will probably fix all that is wrong with my tone. The Amptweaker Tight Metal Pro is a devastating pedal with all kinds of shit built in. As I get older and lamer I'm transitioning more from metal to blues in my playing, and my hope is that I can accomplish most, if not all, the metal tones I want in one box. Solid plan! The Thorpyfx The Dane is a great sounding drive pedal with boost. Danish Pete is something of a YouTube celebrity, but his resume from the real world is quite impressive too. I dig him because he seems like a cool dude and his playing isn't bad either. I ordered the pedal the moment it was released and the first batch have handwritten notes from Pete Honore on the inside of the casing. This is what was written in mine (serial number 10). I don't feel any better about the football team.
  23. Lol. Shaw. FFS, people.
  24. I was going through some high school era boxes and came across some drawings I did. In the stack were some sketches of the musicians I was into. All guitarists, natch. I think I'll hang them in the music room. And, as you can see, I go back to "Diamond." #og #keepingitreal
