  1. Piercings are the worst. Why are we talking about this? Hope they don't overturn the fumble
  2. Slow start by Texas? Shocking Lame pass on 3rd even if it should've been defensive PI
  3. OU 4th quarter: Outscored K State 17-0, gained 210 yards, still lost.
  4. Big 4th quarter by OU, but Riley burning his final TO after burning clock just to kick that FG bit him in the ass
  5. Unbelievable. How does that even happen
  6. Mensa move by Riley there. Burn 20 seconds of clock on 4th and short just to call the final TO for a FG.
  7. I think you're confused. Texas has a good offense. Our pass defense is very bad. Our run defense is less bad. We've been outrushed by 3 teams: OU, Ok State, and Kansas. They aren't power rushing teams. We match up well vs. K State.
  8. Texas ranks 16th in total yards and 9th in scoring offense. OU is susceptible to power running. We are susceptible to deep passes. And no.
  9. Power running won't work against us as well as it does OU, for what it's worth. And our offense is pretty good.
  10. K State rushing: CAR YDS AVG TD LONG James Gilbert 11 103 9.4 0 26 Jordon Brown 8 50 6.3 0 22 Skylar Thompson 12 32 2.7 4 15
  11. Rough 3rd quarter for OU: 7 yards, 2 turnovers, 2 punts, outscored 17-0
  12. Now a turnover on the kickoff return. Not a good start to the 3rd by OU
  13. Two scoring drives in a row by K State. OU's 3 & out was a great defensive stand, and K State almost blocked the punt. Momentum all on K State right now
  14. This is a good example of one of those silly 3rd down blitzes we always run. Note the safety blitz. Notice how far the safety was from making any kind of play near the LOS. Also note that the ball went to the hole the safety left. Dumb.
  15. I count 7 players out on defense and at least 2 playing hurt. Cummins, McCulloch, Floyd, Tillman, Green, Thompson, and Brown out. Overshown hurt. Foster is playing hurt. Along the D line we are in decent shape. DL class breakdown looks like this: 4/3/1/6 LB is worse. Our only upperclassman LB is out, and of his 2 freshmen backups one is also out. We are also out a freshman MLB. LB class breakdown looks like this: 1/0/4/6 DBs were a problem area going into the year. We have one senior and 4 juniors in the secondary, and one of them (Brown) is out. Green and Thompson are also out, and Foster and Overshown are hurt. DB class breakdown looks like this: 1/4/8/4 The fact is we are very young (and that is no one on this staff's fault) and we had little margin for injuries, and we've had more than our share. That doesn't excuse our atrocious play. Much of our problem starts with lack of pressure and blitzing too often, and too ineffectively. Our LB corps is young and thin, so when runners get to the second level, or routes go shallow middle, our LBs get exposed. And our secondary is just getting exposed. They have the physical tools, but they're not playing well - especially open field tackling. That's coaching, I believe.
