  1. I agree with all of this. Especially the roster part. We just don't have the raw talent on this team to overcome a lot of setbacks. And frankly, I believe we've been outcoached the last couple of game by offensive-minded coaches abusing our weaknesses on defense. I am thrilled with Sam's performance this year. We've improved on OL but we don't dominate. Our skill players are above average. I think our offense is going to be rocking next year if avoid injuries. Our defense lacks depth. Our DL is below average and gets pushed around by most of the OLs we're facing. Our LBs are a mixed bag, and the lack of depth and dominant playmakers hurts us. Our secondary isn't bad but there's no room for errors because they aren't getting help up front, and they have to watch the run and the pass. I think our defense improves next year but not by much unless something unexpected happens, like a huge GT or we have a D lineman pull a Gaskamp.
  2. I think Herman will get some grad transfers to plug the gaps. We still have a lot of weak points on the roster but we're getting better. The OL and DL are the biggest concerns for me. Playoff contenders have great lines. No two ways about it.
  3. Great move and run by Sam there.
  4. How weird is it to see Texas and Michigian both top 6 late in the season? Like back in the Mack/Carr days
  5. That's a fact. But it's not just OU. Even with Ohio State it's the same thing. They get smoked by Purdue, (4-3), yet it's assumed that if they win out they're still in the playoff.
  6. head-to-head wins during his tenure
  7. Yeah, we're jumping the gun for sure. It's just the disrespect. It would be like putting Georgia over LSU right now.
  8. I disagree with this. Our O line was pushing them around all day. Our receivers were getting open, and our running game was getting chunks, and Sam was in control and playing a great game. I was close enough to see that before the come back, the OU defense had quit. Yes, they scored 3 times in quick succession with some huge plays and evened up the score. But that was Tom Herman going into a shell way too early. And Davante Davis getting burned on the edge. At the end, when we needed a score, we drove right down and scored again with no problem. If we play OU again we'll beat them again.
  9. SEC teams don't need 'resumes'.
  10. My cousin livestreams movies sometimes. I think it's a thing for people of that age. Or is there something I'm missing?
  11. They beat #7 Auburn last year in the Peach Bowl. Calling Auburn demoralized is a cop out. Beating Florida in a bowl made Charlie Strong's career.
  12. I don't know much about the S&P+ but I know several people that put a lot of stock in it. I think our record is better than we are, and some of our playmakers are pulling us through. Discounting Maryland, we allowed Tulsa to fight back into a game they shouldn't have. Then we mauled USC and TCU because special teams and turnovers blew open close games. Kansas State clawed back into a game they should have been out of. Oklahoma same. Baylor same. Our most dominant play was against Oklahoma, yet we still allowed them to come back from 3 scores down in the 4th quarter. So yeah, we're having a charmed season. Sam avoiding sacks, some playmakers making things happen, and our turnover margin is a big part of it. I can see us dropping a few games. TCU and North Texas should not be ranked above us in any system.

  14. I was excited when we got 10 healthy scholarship O linemen on the roster. Were you people asleep the last 8 years?
  15. A shit win is a win. Did you forget where we come from? Lots of ranked teams struggled and lost to teams they should've handled easily today.
  16. Yeah we won, and he was a part of it. Can't talk bad about him, but he showed his limitations as well. The whole thing really showed how important Sam is for our offense.
  17. Everybody was predicting a big win. Should've known better. I just wanted a win.
