  1. Whoa! Omenihu in the Top 50?! That seems pretty high for him. He’s a good player but I don’t see the explosiveness or disruption you would want from a Top 50 pick in his junior film. I do think he’ll show improvement this year though.
  2. Lulz. Regardless of whether these are good offers, they’re backups from our primary targets. Idk if there’s a position I could be less concerned about than WR. We’ll get good talent, but there’s no debating we’re having to move into round 2 or identify and recruiting talent at the position. Edit: I just watched part of his hudl, including the first play ... he’s not that good. Nahlin is full of shit lol.
  3. Hahahaha this is the best shit ever. So much stupid in this post. 1. We didn’t flip most of those guys late. We could’ve had them committed in December if we wanted, but they wanted to shock the world by all announcing on NSD. There were like maaaybe 3 surprises on NSD. 2. Not Uncle Red, dumbfucks. Mark Jackson, a recruit who ended up at OU, accidentally said McCombs when he talked to Perrin at the McCombs business school. The article got scrubbed because the mistake quote was misleading, but what do I care? It created one of the best running jokes we’ve ever had on the recruiting boards.
  4. Aaaaaaand we are officially on the backup offer phase of wide receiver recruiting.
  5. I think so. I know that Peja and Vlade have been very active in funding and promoting basketball in Eastern Europe, so even if those two countries generally don't, I think this would likely be an exception.
  6. They have been. He visited them during the same trip he visited us this last time. I think @golfclap or someone has said Warren's an OU homer and has ties to OU, so I wouldn't worry about it.
  7. Also to add to this, Doncic has been saying that he hasn't decided all year, even before the lottery, so his statement has nothing to do with who won the lottery. Here's an article in spanish from March 29, that says he hasn't decided and then quoted him as saying "we'll know when the season ends." It seems pretty obvious from his statements that he is going to go to the NBA, but doesn't want to announce during the season. Regardless, his position hasn't changed at all since before the lottery, so there's really no reason to think the Kings have anything to do with it. http://www.mundodeportivo.com/baloncesto/otros/20180329/442028285047/doncic-estamos-preparados-para-la-guerra.html
  8. I was looking at a couple mock drafts to see who they had my MLB team taking and figured I'd do quick search for Kyler. Neither Fangraphs nor Perfect game had him going in the top 45 picks, but this MLB one had this to say about him while projecting some other OU sucks guy at 25. Btw, I"m not saying he's right that Kyler is dead set on playing football, I'd bet this writer is not up to date on that aspect. https://www.mlb.com/news/college-players-lead-in-mlb-mock-draft/c-276190214?tid=151437456
  9. After a quick google search, they don't appear to be very similar. Fowler was committed to FSU for months, but he expressed his concern about their depth chart and publicly visited UF multiple times while being committed to FSU. FSU had two returning star DEs and two 5 star DEs already committed. The first article indicates that once Mario Edwards said he was sticking with FSU, Fowler decided to flip. So, it was more of a numbers issue, FSU had plenty of warning, and FSU already had two studs committed at the spot. That's not very similar to the Shavar Manuel situation. https://tampabay.sbnation.com/florida-gators/2012/2/1/2763506/dante-fowler-flips-florida-gators-seminoles-national-signing-day https://www.alligatorarmy.com/2012/2/1/2763671/dante-fowler-jr-florida-football-national-signing-day-2012
  10. In 2015, aggy literally took a demotion to avoid us. They were ahead of Arky and we were ahead of WVU. Then, once SEC announced the bowl matchups, aggy dropped down to the Liberty Bowl, or whatever it was, which placed a lower ranked SEC team than the Texas Bowl even though aggy finished ahead of Arky that year.
  11. But are we actually recruiting him now that his brother has signed?
  12. Speaking of the devil (and I mean this literally), Baylor actually did schedule ACU...but for 2018. lulz.
  13. Seriously putting it as low as 7 and then pushing people over seems weird.
  14. Got ya. Wasn't sure if the improvement was more due to LSU's trash heap of a QB depth chart or Burrow being a big-time impact QB. Sounds more like the firs than the second.
  15. What are your thoughts on Burrow? I've never seen him. Seeing as that he could be on our schedule in the next two years by going to OU or LSU, I'm curious what your thoughts are.
  16. Would love to see the payout on this and the original one in this thread. I'm tempted to bet over on the original and take the under on this one.
  17. Zubia tore up his summer league. I've been excited for him all offseason and he's certainly been worth the wait. Pierce can absolutely evaluate and develop hitting talent. He grabbed Zubia out of Houston when he was at Tulane and then got him to transfer.
  18. See my post on the Texas recruiting board about Shavar Manuel. This kinda shit aint new for Jimbo.
  19. Shavar Manuel was a national-level DE at IMG. Had all the big offers but was a bit of a character/grades risk. He committed to UF 2 weeks before NSD 2016. Then on NSD, he pulled a move that would make anyone not named Nick Saban blush. He flips to FSU out of the blue, leaving UF with no backup at his position and not informing their staff that he would do it. He claimed he planned it with FSU's DL coach about a week before and said he committed to UF 2 weeks prior due to family/others pressure on him. The DL coach for FSU seemed to corroborate this premeditated plan to flip but then JImbo denied having any knowledge of that plan. Plain and simple, you don't get that kind of vindictive planning from a recruit who liked the UF staff enough to commit to them without some added incentive. Guys who go to UT still like aggy position coaches that recruited them, for the most part, and vice versa. These are guys that have been pouring into them for over two years. They're not gonna screw over guys who they have a meaningful relationship with. As an aside, the UF DL coach who got screwed over was Chris Rumph, the man who ditched UT for UF right after NSD leaving "no hablo espanol" feeling muy furioso, and he was also famous for a certain practice photo that made members of the shag immediately go buy lifted F-250s in order to compensate. It all ended up being meaningless as he didn't qualify and went Juco but still. It shows the seemingly improbable flips that Jimbo finds ways to muster out of thin air and shows he gets players who are somewhat known to be up for bidding, just like a lot of those late OOS kids with some red flags he grabbed last year, and also that Jimbo's willing to play extremely dirty against his rivals.
  20. I wrote something about him a little while back. I really like his tape. He's got a great frame, really good burst and long arms. He already knows how to leverage OL well at 220 lbs. Once he bulks up, he'll be a nightmare to handle. I've been critical of this staff's DL recruiting, but they can absolutely evaluate at all positions and, at least on defense, develop. Id' rather him be in addition to, but at least he would be a great replacement for some of the targets we've missed on or are expected to miss on.
  21. Interesting choice. I think Abilene Christian University might be ready to give them a more competitive game by 2025.
  22. While not technically, it's the closest he's ever gotten so...
