  1. When did any of these guys become good QBs? It seems like none of the QB prospects are all that great but since none can separate from the others, teams have started to act like there's a bunch of QBs worth being taken at the top of the 1st. Kind of reminds me of 2011 when Locker, Ponder, and Gabbert were all taken in the top 12, except that year Cam Newton was actually a QB worth taking #1 overall.
  2. Interesting. I heard Michael Lombardi on the Ringer podcast saying he expects them to take Chubb because they have certain positions they value and RB isn't one of them. Personally, I hope the Giants take a QB, so its starts the run on QBs right away. Id' love to see like three teams trying to trade into the top 10 because 3 QBs have already been taken in the top 5 picks.
  3. it's not a bad hire by any means but it represents aggy catching up with the times, rather than pacing the field, like all the agroids are claiming.
  4. But if you need a property manager for a place like Baltic Avenue, aggy can find plenty of construction science majors looking for a job.
  5. Can't be your mom. She is anything but silent.
  6. Interesting on the Browns. From what I’ve heard, the only QB the Giants like is Darnold so it’ll be interesting to see if they take him if Baker goes 1.
  7. That's right folks. The aggy fan who keeps coming to a UT website to troll has a life.
  8. Pretty great article from the Ringer today. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2018/4/25/17277580/draft-qb-thoughts-baker-mayfield-lamar-jackson-josh-allen "A college football fan offers his thoughts on Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and the rest of the NFL’s incoming quarterback class" Here's the first paragraph. It's super long, so I'm not going to post the whole thing: I don’t understand how the NFL draft works. I am but a simple-minded college football fan, a harebrained fool who wastes my life watching an inferior sports product. Because my mind cannot comprehend the complexity of the National Football League, I spend draft season conjuring stupid thoughts like “Hey, why do NFL people think Mitch Trubisky is better than Deshaun Watson?”; “Hey, why don’t NFL people have faith in Russell Wilson?”; “Hey, why do NFL people believe Blake Bortles is good?”; and “Hey, why are NFL people so enamored of Christian Hackenberg?”
  9. Absolute gold from the Ringer today. The entire article is pretty great, but I'll just post the Josh Allen part here. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2018/4/25/17277580/draft-qb-thoughts-baker-mayfield-lamar-jackson-josh-allen
  10. It appears I’m not the only one with a broken sarcasm meter today. My sock. Obviously.
  11. I think it's very clear from my posting on this board that I understand sarcasm perfectly every time and I'm not the kind of guy who always has to get the last word.
  12. lulz. Idk what your deal is on this one. We weren't bashing the guy or saying Orlando made a mistake. I guess your opinion is that Adeoye can be put out in every situation and that you also believe Orlando thinks that as well. Hard to tell considering all you've thrown out are sarcastic generalizations without ever offering your opinion.
  13. You didnt' provide anything to the discussion. Neither of us ever said Orlando made a mistake, and you never said anything about Orlando's opinion of the player. I generally like you as a poster, but this stuff seems lazy and off-base. In fact, we both said he would be a good and useful player and indicated we think Orlando will use him well. I think Orlando recognizes that Adeoye has some limitations in the B12. I highly doubt he thinks he can just throw Adeoye out there no matter the opponent or alignment, like he can for guys like Malik and GJ. We were just having a discussion about how Orlando might utilize a guy who's not a perfect scheme fit in the B12. You act as if we said Adeoye sucks and the staff made a mistake in taking him. Here's what we actually said: BB: I trust our defensive staff to build a defense until proven otherwise. I’m just curious how they intend to play him. UTL: He would've been better off in the Big Ten, but I'm glad we got him. He has better instincts than Wheeler, and a Wheeler with better instincts is a very useful player.
  14. Schmidt has an entire summer to inflict rhabdo on even more players. They will experience plenty of attrition.
  15. This is a very deep and insightful post. Thank you for your contributions to further discussing Texas football.
  16. This is a good idea. I have both but haven't tasted them in succession. I shall do that soon, probably tonight.
  17. I'm with you. I think the staff will put him at Mac and probably sub him out quite a bit due to our insane secondary depht. I expect us to have a heavy S, be it Foster or Overshown playing in the box regularly, starting in 2019, which would limit Adeoye's usage. I think he'll always have his limitations against B12 offenses, but I see a route to him being a useful player. We'll definitely need the ILB who starts alongside him to not have any weakness though, can't protect 2 LBs. On the bright side, he'll give us versatility when we face Playoff opponents who like to play heavy, like UGA.
  18. That was incredible. Goff was freaking hilarious. He just moved up in my book.
  19. He would've been better off in the Big Ten, but I'm glad we got him. He has better instincts than Wheeler, and a Wheeler with better instincts is a very useful player. He will help with teams like Maryland, USC, and K-State, and I think in a year, he will have enough experience to reliably diagnose plays fast enough to make up for his speed limitations. He'll never be an ideal fit, but he's a good player that could thrive in specific facets of the game if the DC can protect him most of the time.
  20. He's not a JAG, but he seems to have some concerns or minor red flags and he also doesn't seem to fit the profile of what this staff wants in OL. It's pretty clear that staff has not been going all out for him during this recruiting process, and I'm good with the staff's position. We've gotten burned in the past going for too many guys who could only play Guard. Combine his positional limitations with his concerns, and he has a very high bust potential that would eat up a scholarship for many years.
