  1. LeClerc a couple of races ago when he left the course when Checo was challenging him on the last lap.
  2. The beaches in Valencia aren't great. Instead I'd head to the east cost of Mallorca and stay around Alcudia. Palma on the west side is great as well. Nixe Palace seems right up your alley.
  3. Yet they’re 3-3 in the playoffs with a championship. Care to compare that to what Oklahoma has done in the playoffs? Probably not.
  4. It’s about 135k Amex points round trip. That’s not a problem. Why not experience the best once?
  5. Thinking about Emirates first class to Italy next year from JFK. It seems like an experience I want.
  6. The fall Chateau Montelena shipment arrived. Time to put them on their side for a while.
  7. Unfortunately, United miles aren't the best for overseas travel (along with Delta). Both of those airlines charge a lot of miles for those trips. I did see on the United site that if you can get to Dulles you'll have direct flights to Rome and the redemptions weren't terrible at about 60k miles round trip in economy.
  8. I found the F2 or F3 cars to much louder than the F1 cars going down the straight in Spain.
  9. If you're gaming there's no such thing as overkill. 😃
  10. My favorite bass line if all time and yes that is Keith Richards on the bass.
  11. Team Green or Team Black. I am firmly for Team Black. Episode 9 was outstanding. Here's to more of that.
  12. Tate canceled that visit to Tennessee.
  13. My Caribbean list in no particular order. Elvis' Beach Bar - Sandy Ground, Anguilla Soggy Dollar Bar - Jost van Dyke, BVI Cow Wreck Beach - Anegada The Willy T - Norman Island, BVI Sunshines - Nevis, BWI Reggae Beach Bar, St. Kitts, BWI Freedom in Paradise Bar, Cozumel, Mexico Hendo's Hideout - Jost van Dyke, BVI (the best food of these and much higher end) Foxy's - Jost van Dyke, BVI Shark Bite Bar & Grill, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
  14. What? There are different ways to make bolognese. The one pictured is more southern Italian. It becomes more of a meat sauce and lesS of a tomato sauce the further north you go. All are delicious.
  15. Give me a list of the top 50 dive/beach bars and I've probably been to quite a few.
  16. It's 1969 and you decide to take a chance and buy this album. You put the needle down and this is how it begins.
  17. Came home today. We got power and internet back at 7 pm. We are fortunate that even though we live close to the gulf we were far enough away to avoid the devastation that many are dealing with. The wine survived. I opened three bottles with a neighbor and they drank well. I can only consider myself lucky because we have a lot of friends dealing with major damage to total loss of their homes.
  18. They were saying that it's the most exposed area in the US when it comes to storm surge. I just found out no water made it up our block so our house and belongings are intact.
  19. I hope not. Every time I drive past I remind myself I need to go in and get a t-shirt. Yeah, we’re right around the corner from the Ritz.
  20. Update. We evacuated this morning. The good news is that if we get past the 3 am high tide the house will survive as will the wine. We are now safe in Miami. The bad news is that friends across Vanderbilt Beach Road on the fingers have all lost their houses. Total devastation from the surge.

  22. We haven't left yet but I do have a hotel booked in Miami. The stickler is that we have two 80 lb dogs and it's going to be miserable for us either way. Our street can take up to a 9-10 ft surge before it gets wet. We are forecast for 5-8' which I know is a little close for comfort. My friends across Vanderbilt Beach Rd on the fingers are fucked if it gets to 8'.We will continue to watch the forecast and will make a decision by 7 PM. A northward trend would be good for us but then I feel for those poor people up north. A lot of people are going to get fucked by this storm.Right now I am leaning heavily towards going but we do have some time to watch the forecast. The drive to Miami right now is only about 15 minutes longer than normal so that isn't a huge concern yet.
  23. We're sticking it out in Naples. Forecasts have shown us in the tropical storm range but this southerly trend does have me worried. The next county up (Lee County) has an evacuation order in for zone A and B. We are in zone A in Collier County so it's a little close for comfort right now but it would take a significant wobble to the east for us to get the big storm surge. Right now we're predicted at 3-5'.
