  1. We found most of Spain to be much, much less expensive than where we live in the US. The only exception was Barcelona where real estate and restaurant prices were higher.
  2. They sleep where they want, which is almost always in our bed.
  3. I’m not sure about moving there as we have adult kids and maybe someday grandkids but I wouldn’t mind doing a 90 day visa once a year and base myself in Italy.
  4. Rumor going around that Dijon Johnson will recommit to Ohio State this weekend. Apparently there is a baby on the way but the logistics of that situation may have been worked out. We'll see if it comes to fruition but apparently the Florida boards are not happy,
  5. I don't think there's an argument going on here. You can get Michelin starred very fancy meals as you portrayed or you can get a simple pasta dish with wild boar sauce in Tuscany and have a great eating experience at either place.
  6. Those little restaurants in the countryside are one of the things I love most about Italy and I love a lot about it.
  7. Agreed. I really like the slow food movement in Northern Italy.
  8. Triple and you’ll love it mister! Seriously, you can also eat at any number of restaurants up and down Italy and eat amazing food with an 8 euro bottle of vino dell casa and have a great time. Food capital of the world as far as I’m concerned with no disrespect intended towards France. Great Italian food is my happy place.
  9. Can I has his digits, please? Lol So I want to put together a vertical tasting with some friends this fall. Everyone will put in a set amount of money then the wine gets sourced. I’d like the budget to be up to $1k for the tasting but I may get pushback on that. The tasting will be for 5-6 people. I’m looking for suggestions. It’s definitely a red wine tasting. My tastes run to the classic Italian wines but I’m starting to learn (and greatly enjoying) French wines. While I like California wines they aren’t my favorite but I am also not a fan of fruit bombs though I understand that phase may thankfully be petering out. Thanks for any and all suggestions.
  10. ZoZo has joined the family. It was a long drive home from Charlotte but she's here now. The old lady in the first photo is a saint who's been fostering Giant Schnauzer rescues for over 40 years. And she made herself right at home. This 15 month old girl is one bundle of endless energy. She stayed in this pose about 10 seconds. Her two weeks of board and train are coming up sooner than later.
  11. One of the great things about Italy (and France). You can walk into this tiny little town in the middle of nowhere and find a Michelin restaurant and have a fantastic meal. It happened to us in Radda. The chef/owner greeted us, took our orders, cooked our food and served it. Wonderful meal. Sadly, that little restaurant was a victim on Covid.
  12. Ferrari's primary strategist
  13. Agreed. He was lapping the field in Spain as Ferrari would be for the championships if they weren’t grenading.
  14. It’s been at the top of my list for a while. Swim in the morning and ski in the afternoon. Add in GR20 which is the most difficult trekking trail in Europe and 120 miles long. French and Italian cuisine and wines? Paradise.
  15. They’re five wide! That’s what I want to see
  16. Lake Como? Because that looks like the floating pool on Lake Como.
  17. And British humor. I love British humor.
  18. George Foster, Cesar Geronimo, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, Ken Griffey. What a team.
  19. Damn, did I love The Big Red Machine when I was a kid. I still have nightmares about Brooks Robinson in the 1970 World Series. I'm not sure one single player has played so well in a series since and maybe before. Fielded like he had 8 arms and hit .429. Then I moved to NE Ohio and switched to the Indians. What a dumbass.
  20. It was banned in Spain and I believe there are other circuits that ban it.
  21. I don't believe they have to do the floor adjustment until after the summer break.
  22. So, I'm not sure if I have posted this but Eli is getting a sister on the 30th. We'll be picking ZoZo up and driving her back down. Like Eli, she is a giant schnauzer (our 6th) and the word is that she has a lot more energy than Eli which will be interesting because Eli has a LOT of energy. It's going to be fun.
