  1. From what I understand Schumacher had a helmet on the day of the accident.
  2. I was a casual teenage fan back then, but were the new regs the cause of the issues at Imola, or was it something else? Senna had been complaining about new regs I believe and that the cars were damned near undriveable in his opinion. He was very outspoken about it. What was the mindset of Senna that final day?
  3. Amalfi coast is beautiful but driving there is not for the faint of heart. You also have Capri (Cap-ree) a short ferry ride away. Shopping in Capri is like Rodeo Drive on steroids. It truly is an island hideaway for the ultra-rich and famous. Going to the top of the mountain yields some breath taking views and Anacapri is a quieter town to hang out at for an afternoon.

    Spain

We had to cancel our trip to Spain in May of 2020. I have now booked flights in and out of Madrid direct from Miami for May of 2022. We'll have 20 full days in Spain. Our previous itinerary was Madrid for a night to decompress then Barcelona-Valencia-Mallorca-Seville-Madrid for a night then home. I think we'll look to do something similar. Amex had Iberia Avios at 1000 MR:1400 Avios. Business class is 42500 Avios each way. For about 121000 MR points I got my business class tickets. Love the pod for the ride across the Atlantic. I'm psyched to plan the trip. It was a huge disappointment last May when we had to cancel. I ended up losing 300000 AeroMexico miles on that one as we were starting the trip with a weekend in Mexico City.
  5. Watched Schumacher. I’m now sad.
  6. For sure. It's just that the majority are on the north/northeast side. I'm not sure how choppy the water could get on the south/southeastern side. Hansen looks to be a very long dinghy ride from Cruz Bay.
  7. Cruz Bay has a lot of shops and restaurants. Quite a few of the restaurants are outstanding. As for a dinghy there are marked buoys to guide you in to the allowed beaches dinghy areas. It is the northside beaches you go to. There really aren't any beaches of note on the south side of the island. They're few and far between there.
  8. Which is something I've never understood. USC I get. The school administration just doesn't seem to care at all. Are the BMD's the problem at Texas? It makes no sense to me.
  9. He's talking about Tressel. I think you knew that? Ohio State has been very fortunate with their head coaching tree. Prior to Meyer the last four are all in the college football hall of fame and he's a lock.
  10. Ohio State has had maybe a subpar decade in their history. They certainly have NEVER had a very long stretch of complete irrelevance. They've had nine losing seasons in the last 100 years plus and three of those were in the 1920's.
  11. Yep. Like Lando's start. Everyone talking about his cojones and that he "drove on the grass" to get by Hamilton. I like Lando a lot and racing is racing but his was also a dangerous move. It should apply to all drivers equally. It's yet another good argument for full-time stewards and not volunteers with a different agenda at every race. While I'm on a rant. BRING BACK GRID GIRLS!!!!!!!
  12. Nice extended Tag Heuer ad there on the Red Bull car at the end of the video.
  13. "Daniel, do you have a few words for the Italian fans?" Ricciardo speaks Italian for three minutes. "Well, I didn't know that you speak Italian."
  14. Anegada. Cow Wreck Beach. Great beach bar on a beach with a most interesting name and story. Annie is a sweetheart and if he hasn't gone off to school her son is a talented artist. If you see the biggest whitest perfect piece of coral you've ever seen it was one I found and gave to Annie after Irma so she could start hanging things up again to replace what was lost. Norman Island - snorkel The Indians. One side is sheltered for the more timid and one side is exposed. Both sides have great snorkeling. Pirate's Bight is a beautiful little harbor with a great restaurant. The William Thornton (The WIllie T) is a floating bar on Norman's Island and is likely the raunchiest bar you'll ever visit. The later in the day the worse (or better if you're like me) it gets. Fun fact. William Thornton was among other things an architect. He was designated by George Washington as "the first architect" because it was his design that was chosen as the blueprint for the US Capitol building. Virgin Gorda - You're there for The Baths and to explore the rock and walk the trail through the boulders. Devil's Bay at the end of the short hike is spectacular. Jost van Dyke is all about White Bay. It's where The Soggy Dollar Bar is located which is one of if not the most famous island beach bar in the Caribbean. It's an all day party every day with a different group of people each day. We like to stay on Jost as we have made quite a few friends there over the years. The next bay over is Great Harbor which is where Foxy's is located. Also another famous Caribbean bar. Sadly, you probably won't get a chance to meet Foxy as his health is declining. Before Irma we chartered Foxy's new boat to Anegada for the day and were fortunate enough to have Foxy as our first mate who traveled around Anegada with us for the day. He broke out his guitar at Cow Wreck Beach and played a few songs for us. Bubbly Pool is a short hike from Foxy's Taboo on the west side of the island. DO NOT let your kids climb on the rocks. They are not stable and there was a death there in 2017 when a hiker did what these dumbasses did and climbed on the rocks. If you catch the tides right when you're there the pool turns into a natural sauna. Peter Island is a high end resort. We stayed there in 2016 and loved it. I'd guess that if you're stopping there it is for lunch. I don't know anything about Trellis. A fun little place to stop if your boat can get you in there is Little Jost Van Dyke. The B-Line Beach Bar is a tiny little beach bar and is the only thing on the island. You'll probably have the place to yourself. The people there are very friendly and grateful for your business. That's it for now. Enjoy one of my favorite island chains in the world. You will have a blast.
  15. That's not the pathing right because that pathing would suck. Those are the spots. If you want to know what to hit on specific islands I'm happy to give recommendations. By family do you mean younger kids? If so, there is a certain offshore bar you'd want to avoid after about 3 pm as it gets very raunchy. I say pathing because it makes little sense to hit Jost and then work your way back out to Norman and Peter Islands. I have never ever seen a wave runner out there (which I view as a huge positive). Some islands have dinghy rentals.
  16. They're also getting a lot of money from their German investors who insisted that a German investment meant a German driver in a seat.
  17. I didn't find driving on the other side to be difficult. You do need to focus on entering and exiting roads and roundabouts.
  18. Definitely get a taxi and then ferry from Red Hook to St. John for a day trip. Then, you'll get why so much of the thread focuses on that island. Mountain Top on St. Thomas is worth a visit. Fantastic views from up there and the daicquiris don't suck. Of course, Magen's Bay is a nice spot.
  19. This. Joey Bosa got thrown out of his last game as a Buckeye for essentially slapping the side of the Notre Dame quarterbacks helmet.
  20. That's not nearly all of his stuff. Heavy McIntosh gear and yeah, the speakers cost a lot. He could be exaggerating but it's still a big blow.
