Wine
You don’t even want to know how many bottles I have on my racks from La Fortezza. If there’s a better place to taste wine I don’t know where it is although the enoteca in Greve is top notch.

Now you have me interested! I'm heading to my favorite vineyards in Gaiole in Chianti (named the most idyllic place to live in Italy by Forbes) and Piemonte in September. Many cases will be shipped back.

Formula 1 2023
Agreed but a five second penalty on a formation lap? They knew what the result of that would be and they did it anyway. And did it with no penalty to two other drivers who caused major incidents (Sargent and Gasly).

Caitlin Clark …. Seriously
She had $2 million plus in NIL deals before the season started including a Nike shoe contract and deals with Buick and Goldman Sachs among others. The top salary in the WNBA is about $232000. Just stay at Iowa for two more years and rake in the cash.

No, and I would not drive there. It's not a road most Americans would feel safe driving.

We don't get travel insurance. AT&T charges $10 a day for international use. If you don't use the phone one day there's no charge for that day.

Far flung and/or remote globe trotters
1) Don’t go there 2) If you do go there be smart and stay in the best accommodations you can get. For example, if I ever do an African photo safari I will not skimp. I’ll pay to be safe and secure.

Do you have the other series at COTA? At Catalunya we had F2, F3 and the womens races.

Montreal would be really nice but it’s much more expensive and I can get up in the morning, drive to Miami, and then F1 drive back home across the alley.

I'm thinking about gettting a Sunday ticket for Miami. They start at $588 and go way up from there. I just have to drive across Alligator Alley to go so other than the ticket not many expenses.

I use their travel portal to book hotel rooms. Chase UR points do go farther for hotel redemptions but I accumulate Amex MR points at a rapid pace. For flights I always transfer points to the airline.

Miami
We're headed to Miami for a couple of days tomorrow. If you want Cuban food in South Beach go to Sazon. Very good (my wife is Cuban) and huge portions. We'll probably eat at one of the Prime restaurants as I feel Joe's is overrated. Prime Seafood is a good, although very expensive, alternative. For good Mexican Lola's Cantina at the Marriott Stanton South Beach is priced well for food and drink. At the very least it's a place in SOBE where you don't have to spend $25 for a cocktail.

The Italy Thread
I was thinking about doing the Aosta Valley but it felt too ambitious. If it was a three week trip I'd have added that.

The Italy Thread
I was hoping you’d chime in. It looks like day trips from Bologna to Modena and to Verona. We may add a third to Parma or Padua. Probably Parma. The vineyards in Tuscany and Piemonte are the ones I’ve found you need a res for.
