  1. RIP Caneel Bay. Perhaps someday it will be back.
  2. Apologies if it seems like I'm trying to dissuade you. There's just a ton of differences in the two islands including the vibe on the island. Enjoy your trip!
  3. Stay in Cruz Bay and you can taxi or ride the taxi bus to beaches. St. John is 60% national forest and covered with trails. St. Thomas is the single most visited cruise ship destination in the world so you get all that comes with that. Yes, it is easy to get to St. J from Red Hook and quick.
  4. It's an easy day trip. Just take the ferry from Red Hook and 15 minutes later you're on St. John. When you spend a little time on St. John you'll wish you'd chosen it as your destination. Yes, it is that much better.
  5. As soon as they released the forgiveness rules. I think it was late April.
  6. Damn, it’s been a while for me. I need to get back there.
  7. Yep, which is why I suggested hitting Mudjin Harbor on Middle Caicos. It's a nice day trip from Providenciales and of course you have that beautiful water to look at.
  8. Bay Bistro is really good. For something different take the ferry to North Caicos and rent a car. Drive across the causeway to Middle Caicos and go to Mudjin Harbor which is the prettiest little harbor you've ever seen (it's not a harbor it's a cove) and explore the aptly named Dragon Cay. There's a restaurant at the top of the hill with an amazing view.
  9. I guess we were one of the lucky ones. That little bank in south Texas already got us the paid note for forgiveness #1 and is working on forgiveness for #2. I wish the SBA was as efficient. We are approved for our increased EIDL loan but they seem to have a huge backlog when it comes to the modification of the loan and disbursement.
  10. The only ones I have found worth a damn are those of vineyards that I love and even those have filler bottles in most shipments.
  11. In preparing for the move I came across a few bottles of this I'd forgotten that I have. It should be right in the wheelhouse about now.
  12. Pirelli chose those tires as the hard for this race. On many other tracks it's a soft tire. Pirelli issued a life of 40 laps. The tires failed 75-80% into the stated life.
  13. His interview showed that at least off the track he hasn't. He's a fantastic driver, no doubt.
  14. LeClerc said in the post qualifying interview that Mercedes and Red Bull have an advantage over him. I really like the way LeClerc has matured over the past three seasons as opposed to Verstappen who now just acts like a petulant child if things don't go his way.
  15. La Fortezza in the castle alongside with the enoteca in Greve are the two best wine rooms I've ever tasted in. About 10% of my wine that is aging is Brunello that came from La Fortezza.
  16. I love driving around Italy when I get to a place that I'll spend a little time in. Be careful of the signs and speed limits. They love to send tickets to foreigners. Trains between metro areas like Florence and Rome and drive in the countryside. Just know that a LOT of Italians are bicyclists so watch those blind curves in the hills. ETA: There is no way I'd drive in Rome or Naples. It's insanity.
  17. I love Venice but I really want to rent an apartment in Montalcino or Montepulciano or Greve right on the piazza for a while and just live like a local. The food, the wine, the views. Amazing.
  18. Pick a region. Italy is far too big and diverse to explore the rest of the country in two weeks.
  19. I enjoyed the race but that was so poorly produced. Fuck NBC.
  20. It’s really fun to see the friendship between Sainz and Norris. Such a competitive environment yet they see past it.
  21. Interviewer, “Carlos, you aren’t even sweating.” Sainz, “I train a lot. Unlike you.”
