  1. That's my concern, Johnny. There were also linebackers on the field that I didn't expect to see. Were they missing people or did they not win the job?
  2. Couch burned.
  3. When your WR6 transfers to Alabama and becomes WR1 there you know the WR room is ridiculous.
  4. Bought a couch at the thrift shop this afternoon. It's already been soaked in an accelerant and is ready to light.
  5. Hey, that's our job!
  6. Race week. College football starts in earnest. What's not to like?
  7. He also just called a black man a boy on television when addressing the FEMA effort in Louisiana. Every four years I think it can't get worse and it does.
  8. Gotta break them in first. 🙂
  9. Yep. Your stash would be high on the list of wine cellars I'd like to peruse.
  10. Rookie numbers. 🙂 I kid. I'm about the same right now. A trip to Italy or France would up that by about a dozen cases.
  11. Nice setup. When I upgraded to my current setup I gave my son my Tag McLaren AVR32, Anthem 225wpc 2 channel and and my old Denon turntable from back in the day. He got a pair of Klipsch towers (would not have been my choice) and I gave him an SVS sub as a housewarming gift. Nothing like a vintage $5k preamp to build your new system around.
  12. Have you watched TEXAS football over the last ten years?
  13. Race week bitches!!

    Vinyl

Original pressing I purchased as a kid in 1972. Not a snap, crackle or pop on the whole album. Contrary to what my dad (RIP) thought I did take care of some things.
  15. Bump for the original hi-fi thread I've a lot of subtractions and some additions to my system over the past year or so. I also made a rack out of angle iron and cage material that we use at data centers as I have not been able to source a media center that meets my specific needs. You'd think that manufacturers would understand the depth requirements of audio equipment and the need for proper ventilation. I got a granite top for the TV to sit on that I'm happy with and I am now working with a local wood crafter to get two shelves and a back on the cabinet. The back will have 2" holes for cable management. I still need to get new speaker wire as my lengths are off and I want something a little better. Pardon the current cable disaster in the back as that will be rectified.I've gone from two racks full of gear in my old house down to a two channel system and now down to the NAD M33 which is preamp, amp, streamer and has phono input and HDMI ARC input plus a host of other features. A U-Turn turntable and the Dynaudio Special Forty speakers with an 18" Triad sub for oomph. I love the Dynaudio Special Forty speakers. They sound amazing and the finish on them is perfect. I'm still learning.
  16. Damn. Gonna have to have a sip of Watermelon Wine
  17. Understood. Ah, I remember the picky eater thing. Morgan's Mango, while very popular is not among my favorite places either. For lack of a better term I'd call it tourist food. I'm glad you enjoyed the island. I think if you'd stayed in Cruz Bay the ruggedness wouldn't have been so prevalent. Now. Book yourself a damned power cat and do the BVI when it's back up and fully running. 😀
  18. Zozo's, Extra Virgin and 1864 would have blown you away. Zozo's and Extra Virgin are world class restaurants. I've been to Austin. There's some really good food there but it's not a standard I'd put on a silver platter.
  19. John. St John. Fix yer title matey.
  20. Yeah, that side of the island leads to that. Glad you had a great time. BTW: Is there any way to get the thread title corrected? St. Johns is a university. St. John is an island.
  21. GFA, my favorite name for any audio equipment. Stands for Great Fucking Amplifier
  22. One of the interesting takes that I got from Murder Mountain is that the California government has made it so expensive to be legal in the industry that a lot of the growers chose to remain as outlaw growers to survive. ETA: Part of our honeymoon was a week on Maui back in the day. We took a drive one day to the extreme west end of the island where it became very rural very quickly. Every driveway or gate had a sign that stated that trespassers would be shot. I guess we found where the Maui Wowie was grown.
  23. Yeah, I'd pay 350 for that.
  24. True but that's anywhere in California, right?
