Impressed by Sainz today. If Ferrari hadn’t hung a 3.7 pit stop on him it may have been him holding off Verstappen. I also question why they didn’t put him on mediums on that last stop because LeClerc was cranking past people on the mediums.
It looks like we are targeting September 2023 to go back. It will be a 12 day trip with friends who haven't been to Italy. We'll probably do Venice, Florence and then Tuscany. I'd like to squeeze Lake Como in as well but with our other destinations I will have to work to sort out travel that makes sense. As long as I get to visit the enoteca in Greve and Montalcino I will be happy along with my favorite little vineyard in Gaiole in Chianti.
It's a 37.4 mile course and the weather can change dramatically over the course of a lap. You can top a hill and all of a sudden you're in rain. Speeds top out around 200 mph. Most of the course is roads with stone walls. There are literally no safe bail out zones.
It's the most insane, most dangerous race in the world. My brother follows it closely. 1982 is the only year in the history of the race where a death didn't occur.
