  1. Saw them advertising some ghost hunter show.
  2. This is how it’s done (wait for it) - sweet caroline - backyard brawl version https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxTQGU1Rl-X/?igshid=MWZjMTM2ODFkZg== The control freaks at Belmont are scared to death
  3. They are there for the experience. And since they are grouped together, there are countless ways you can entertain them and just them without jumping the shark for all. And one thing you do if there’s lack of interest is decrease their ticket allotment. But since they’re grouped together you wont be seeing that. Because they’ll make their own fun. And that will be the best fun without lame corporate gimmicks. And you wont be seeing that with SEC schools coming in and when demand and FOMO will be all-time high.
  4. Like I said, grouping students together fixes a lot of things. You can then work that crowd with experiences, camera work, general admission policies, spirit groups, phone interaction, prizes, and welltimed stadium interaction. They also entertain themselves and create unique experiences. Alcohol fixes the other issues as does winning and playing bigtime programs. Gimmicks are not why college football is special. The UT gameday experience is bloated to say the least.
  5. Sure. Barry has almost as many TDs in one year as Earl had in his entire college career. Then Bum ran Earl into the ground. Barry averaged almost 100 yds/game for 10 years. He had no off years. And he was dangerous in the passing game. One common trait of Barry and Earl is they both caused defenses to piss their pants (but for different reasons). If you didnt divert all resources to stop them as individual players, you were gonna have a long day.
  6. There’s plenty of concepts that could work and do work for other schools. But for us, open alcohol sales have worked wonders as has putting students altogether. That’s 90% of what was needed to improve things. Fielding a winning team and getting SEC teams in here does this rest. The other stuff is filler.
  7. They did a great job on this. But one thing they did not show (because they focused a hunch on Magic’s struggles), was how much better Magic was over other point guards, starting with the height differential.
  8. Epilogue Do we have cheerleaders? Cameraman would usually get some nice shots. Now we have to see Vic Mackey’s Kiss Girl a dozen times a game.
  9. Good >Wyoming gameplan and oline. They took the air out of the ball, especially in 3rd quarter. Respect. >Tube tops >Xavier Worthy’s TD. He reminds me of Wane McGarity but with worse hands and less tracking ability. >Drones >4th Quarter Bad >Nonstop jock rock and hip hop >Quinn Ewers >Texas Fight instructions Ugly >The overall gameday environment for fans of college football. Very few replays. No band. Sensory overload. It’s clear the experience is designed to appeal to a broader audience. And suck the life out of the crowd. When you long for injury timeouts thats an issue.
  10. Barry Sanders ran for 2600 yards and 37 TDs his Heisman year. Relatively speaking, Mike Gundy was the best QB he ever played with. Wayne Fontes was his NFL coach. We can only pretend Barry Sanders isnt the best RB ever. I’ll accept a Marshall Faulk comp but Bijan’s gotta ways to go. Mind you, Falcons made the right choice drafting Bijan. He’s awesome.
  11. Wall to Wall jock rock and hip hop music at full volume continues to be a crutch and allows the tourists to enjoy themselves. Its lazy. There needs to be some time to breath and organic fan reaction to occur. Night game 4th quarters can be fun. Nice drone show
  12. You’re gonna be retired and worried about state income tax?
  13. Sanders is better than Beck, especially as a big receiver who lines up on the line. Sometimes he manages a stalemate with defensive backs and gets in the way of linebackers. Humphrey was a fucking beast, who had a massive catch radius and was very reliable. He was uncoverable and brutalized DBs. Collin Johnson had an alltime catch radius. The COMBO of Humphrey and Beck was very effective. Id take them over Sanders and Whitt. But for all the peeps with amnesia from the 1st half of the Bama game, you werent screaming at Ewers for throwing deep to Worthy in double coverage as the ball bounced a yard away? Or the multiple times that Worthy dropped a pass in this game? Top 3 WR in history? Sure.
  14. Yes, I remember drops and Bama receivers catching everything that moved like their lives depended on it. The difference in the game was pass protection. If you dont believe me, audit this thread in the first half and you’ll see some hysterical posts about Worthy.
  15. I think it’s pretty obvious at this point that elected officials should not be able to plead the fifth and keep their job. Avoid self-incrimination? Yes. Stay General? No.
  16. As a combo, I’ll take Beck and Humphrey over Sanders and Whitt. Sanders can be a liability in the run game. Beck was knocking fools down and is still in the NFL. And Humphrey was an elite slot and able blocker there. And regarding our current group of receivers, I’ll take the 2018 group. They were reliable and pretty dominant. They got open, caught balls, and put up big numbers. In the Tom Herman passing game and with Ehlinger at QB. And although 2018 Duvernay was not yet the 2019 version, Worthy has a long way to go to approach elite level where he consistently gets open, has some sort of catch radius, and holds onto the ball when he does track passes. He’ll be a slot receiver in the NFL. If he doesnt get more consistent and prove himself, he’ll be a Day 2 pick. While they came through last week, it was another game where Texas receivers were outplayed by their counterparts. Thats been pretty consistent against decent competition since Duvernay left.
  17. Not insane as you placed a caveat yourself on crowning the 2023 group. That was a talented secondary - Brandon Jones, PJ Locke, Kris Boyd, then all the young guns who were better their freshman seasons. I’d also hold off anointing the running game. Havent seen much yet. Ehlinger/Ingram were pretty solid at what they did. I also like Andrew Beck / Humphrey over Sanders / Whit overall.
  18. I’d argue 2018 (unsuccessfully) That year the secondary was loaded, so much so that we went dime much of the time. I’d also take the trio of Lil Jordan, Collin Johnson, and Devin Duvernay. It’s a sound argument until you get to the 2018 defensive line. On one side you had Omenihu and 10 sacks, on the other, you had Breckyn Hager playing with one arm.
  19. He also got obliterated by Dallas Turner lined up by tackle on 4th and short.
  20. Sounds like he’s moderating a talk show
  21. During the ALDS series between Astros and Red Sox where they both knew they were stealing signs and made 10-12 pitching changes, I checked out. Between pitchers taking an extra 15 seconds to “load up”, shaking off signs, pitching changes, and various junk grabs and spitting, MLB determined what real fans liked and sought to shorten games. The best films are tighter and dont have wasted scenes. But even the best like Scorsese do it.
  22. Quinn Ewers - Brutally Bad Touchdown Passes
  23. Good >Ewers, especially 2nd half. I was skeptical on his pro prospects. Looks like 1st rounder. >Texas D. Ethan Burke over Ovie is a massive upgrade. Anthony Hill looks like a beast. >Competent officiating. It’s jarring to see and makes the games much more enjoyable. We’ve endured 2 screw jobs a year for the last decade. Cant wait to get out of this chicken shit outfit. >Bama fans leaving early Bad >Hands. On both sides we dropped and tipped balls >J’Tavian Sanders. Hear me out. Dude must be accounted for in the passing game. But his missed blocks cost us a touchdown and a 4th down conversion. >Our secondary looks slow in coverage. Ugly …
  24. Fansville usually delivers. And they cracked the code: cast smoking hot chicks but downplay their attractiveness a bit
