  1. Guess criminals just need to wear the neon vests before their crime sprees
  2. “When I see five weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.” https://www.texastribune.org/2023/01/31/university-houston-theater-vest-police
  3. He would’ve been an upgrade but 2-3 yrs before he was nailing movie roles. Glad they didnt go Maculey Culkin.
  4. Police dont have precognition. Public policy in this area has taken years to form and not many real people are clamoring for a return to the good ole’ days. And cameras and witnesses arent always around. So to save tens of thousands of lives, you have to temporarily incarcerate accused abusers based on probable cause, which meets constitutional and statutory standards in most cases. If Omenihu, expertly trained in close quarters fighting, a freakishly large, strong, and fast person, shoved or pushed 99.8% of humans, then he shouldnt be surprised if cops are called and he’s booked. The force he’s capable of and any discrepancy between the alleged victim is called evidence. And his experience, size, and age discrepancy can be considered. And the type of injury can be considered or lack thereof. Not worried about Omenihu’s counsel. Shit, he’s probably gonna play this weekend. Think of it this way. You shoulder checking a Sooner at the Cotton Bowl would be nothing, but shoulder checking a 4-year old could result in charges. There’s context to be considered.
  5. Yeah, we’ll wait on your educated take on how other societies handle domestic violence calls when they’re very prevalent and domestic violence murder rates are well above average. This isnt about DA’s. They often cant prosecute these cases. This is about reality. Reality is we need to process violent offenders and separate the accused from the possible victim(s) at least for a few hours. Often the victims are essentially being held hostage and watched at all times. You’re living in a fantasyland if you think the harms of media coverage outweigh domestic violence. It’s not even close. Additionally, I reiterate that individuals that have lethal abilities have a responsibility to avoid laying hands on people (especially smaller, female, elderly, disabled, and/or children) unless they themselves have cause to contact authorities for violence.
  6. 6’5 275lb pro football players have no business laying hands on anyone unless they themselves have reason to call police. The dude is a trained fighter with freakish size and athleticism. Hope justice be served, whatever that may be.
  7. Based on my 3-4 games I’ve seen them play, I like Stroud more than Young. For Young eval, is it more of. plus that he did what he did despite being coached by BOB or is it more of a negative that his growth was retarded by being coached by BOB?
  8. Trump has no idea who Oates, Garfunkel, Ridgeley, Hardy, Lewis, Hutch, and Tanille are. He thinks they’re a single person. He probably thought Diamond’s last name Ansilk.
  9. Jury in a gruesome, quadruple homicide trial of beautiful young women is gonna feel pressure. And on the other side its gonna be real easy to convict that guy based on demeanor. Gonna be a quick deliberation.
  10. The problem is domestic. We have 4% of the world’s population and consume about 1/2 of the world’s drugs. Its big business and cartels are part of a system we established. To put it back on topic, we have a lot of assholes that are baked most of the time and sometimes they are disruptive passengers.
  11. If you’re with your buddies talking classic Hill Street Blues and one of them starts in on wokism, its taken a political turn from your discussion on who wins between Buntz vs Sipowicz.
  12. Had they sold tickets for $5 at Randalls, they still wouldnt have sold out NRG for the past several seasons. The franchise is a drag on the NFL and its worth is based solely on the market.
  13. From what we know and surmising the rest, I’m not sure Texas had a play to keep Beard around given he’s in a toxic relationship and the likelihood of future distractions and embarrassment. I dont see a scenario where he’s rolling with RT at any big name program. And if and when they break up, it will not be clean. Let him break up as an ex-coach of Texas. A&M will absolutely hire his ass with or without the carnival, obviously.
  14. Other media helps glamorize these thugs. One trend Im seeing now on social media are clips showing Tony Soprano as a badass. The viewer, who may have never watched the series, then gets a distorted view of his character, not showing his weaknesses and ugliness.
  15. I was driving my coworkers in San Antonio, where I grew up, and found myself talking like a tour guide explaining all the landmarks and museums. Im my fucking parents. That commercial hits close to home.
  16. We also rushed and missed the XP to avoid replay
  17. It’s not just what happened, its what will happen in the future. Looking at the risk assessment of retaining Beard: 1) How likely is Beard will be violent again, and against staff or students? This incident could put other interactions in a different context. 2) How likely will the relationship blow up? He’s gonna remain engaged with someone who falsely accused him? he’s poised to end it? or He’s the problem no matter who he’s involved with? 3) Are there past incidents, evidence, text messages, 911 calls, photos likely to embarrass/undermine decision to keep him? 4) How this incident impacts Beard’s ability to coach and recruit 5) PR hit is probably the least of the issues if the above risks are low. But a PR campaign to restore Beard’s reputation if you keep him is bound to backfire and represents another risk. Especially if you are dependent on Beard’s fiancee to cooperate. Going to the SEC Texas has inherent advantages that it can leverage - location, resources, branding. Making bad decisions and ignoring slow motion train wrecks is not an advantage going into the SEC. Regarding Beard, I really like his program building and intensity. X’s and O’s seemed solid. But his offenses are not elite. You look at the above and take a shot at doing better. It’s a dick shot for sure. But could pay dividends. I think if the rumors are true and his future wife is volatile, then I can see BMD not wanting the drama and hits to UT’s reputation. Whether Beard dumps her, she blackmails him, she airs all the dirty laundry, etc. Or they fight again. They dont want it.
