  1. The right wing propaganda arm has been pounding away at El Paso as a city in crisis from illegal immigrants for years. Par for the course for old Ted Cruz to move the goal posts.
  2. From purely basketball winning perspective, his felony arrest made it more difficult to coach current players, recruit new ones to Texas, relate to fans, alumni, faculty, and work with this athletic department. His credibility in Austin and the state (where we have many adversaries) was tarnished to say the least. And it was a huge distraction before conference play. A combo of vitriol against Beard and SEC Texas would be elevated. This impacts winning. His ability to coach here at Texas and have basketball success would be difficult to say the least. Getting a fresh start in Oxford could work. With all that being said, he’d be better off getting his life in order and sitting out a year. Moreover, future success would be at risk given the chances of more offcourt issues and/or new revelations. This affects his ability to coach basketball here and made his success here less optimistic.
  3. Uh oh, black couple on Tapa, including girl with nice jugs, light brown skin, and frizzy hair.
  4. You mean “the sheep”? The show expertly covered that.
  5. Big 12 backcourt talent and experience deterred Shaka from trying that. He smartly abandoned Havoc, though he failed to find identities for his teams.
  6. uh oh - an inclusive ad on Tapa for an app game called Skillz Paging Derka and Ultra DTers
  7. “…OJ Simpson, Rae Carruth. Not that you’re asking but one cant underestimate the impact Phil Spector had on the recording industry. And I’d be remiss not to mention Harvey Weinstein’s contribution to independent cinema. And, what about Roman Polanski and Woody Allen!”
  8. Prior to Bennett kicking ass at Virginia, they were 2nd rate and mostly irrelevant for 25 years. Virginia sans Bennett is without question a step down from Texas. And we’re debating a hypothetical situation where Bennett considers program prestige. And him self-evaluating his own impact and what he could do at Texas.
  9. Using deduction, known facts, and domestic abuse patterns, there’s very little wiggle room for a scenario where the happy couple reconciles and doesnt escalate. Then if they breakup, if this couple doesnt do so amicably, then thats a risk for any future employer given that he’ll be a rich public figure on a college campus. That puts him in a compromising position for extortion (ie texts, photos, lawsuits).
  10. Bennett and Ralph Sampson (freak talent) are two individuals most responsible for their history. Between Bennett and Sampson they were worse than Texas. Historically they have a lower winning % by a significant margin. Remove Bennett from the equation, they instantly become 2nd tier. They’re Clemson or BC. Texas has more to offer recruits and coaches. Bennett is part of their program prestige. With that being said: Great university. Beautiful small town. Think quality of life checkmark goes to Cville.
  11. Beard has no viable future as a head coach (especially for a bigtime program) while he’s in a relationship with Trew. Not sure how this would still be possible.
  12. Yeah Rick Barnes is responsible for 8/11. And late Barnes/Shaka era isnt pretty. But Penders made us more relevant in recruiting and lifetime we have better winning % by about 30 points.
  13. In my lifetime, UVA has had 2 Top 25 finishes without Tony Bennett and Ralph Sampson. Take those dudes away, and they’re wandering the wilderness. 8/15 Top 25 all-time are during Bennett’s tenure, since 1970 when that was a thing.
  14. He could win the next 20 ncaa championships for Texas A&M including one with Kevin Durant, Jr and I’ll always be grateful we fired this piece of shit.
  15. The more likely scenario of “building a roster” is the Colts and Commanders who are wandering the wilderness. They’ve had great talent at times, but are so desperate at QB they took shots at Carson Wentz. Its a fallacy to take a strategy based on the genius of others 4 years ago. There’s no shortcut beyond smart cap management, having the right people in place in your front office who are aligned with the right coaching staff. The Texans are finally able to have a strategy and begin executing a plan beyond building a prayer group. If they think the QB prospects are special, you draft them. I think the defensive prospects are probably better bets. we shall see
  16. Even the name of the town is funny - Santa Poco. Nonsense name translated to “Saint Little”
  17. Our running game was not as consistent as it should have been, hampered by no legit deep threat in passing game and lack of man strength on the line. Later in year you could see us bullying Baylor and Kansas. Bijan was great but also had to be superhuman in half the games, when he should have had more romper room big gains.
  18. The Fall of the Roman Republic included several key acts of political violence committed with impunity by one faction/family against the other. Usually around the transition of power. Rinse. Repeat. It’s really about aggressive factions not wanting to cede power and comply with democratic will. Basically, its the same story of “fuck that bullshit”.
  19. “I had a deal with Hyman Roth and Johnny Ola to turn over Brooklynn to the Rizzo brothers, and we’d get to invest in Cuban hotels, but Michael was playing hardball.” - Fredo
  20. Charles got injured in OU game (sprained ankle or something). It was clear early on he was massively talented. Selvin Young probably should have gotten Henry Melton short yardage carries. Chris O was part of the 2008 backfield. Ramonce was also a special talent. He stepped up later in the season when he learned the position better. Ridiculously good hands. Great group but lets not pretend VY and the great oline didnt add 2ypc to their stats. USC and Texas offenses were all-time great.
