  1. I think Quinn is a good QB and I think he really did enough to win the game yesterday. He had two picks, but he also accounted for the second most passing yards allowed by the Georgia defense all season. And if we don’t have a false start on a field goal, there’s a chance the game never goes to overtime and we walk out with a win. However, I think the biggest knock against Quinn is that in his 3 years here I think you can only count maybe 1 game where he made the throw that won you the game. And that was against a pretty mid TCU team last year. The other chances he’s had to engineer a legacy defining drive, he’s come up short. I think there is a realistic chance that Texas wins a championship this year, but only if Quinn doesn’t have to go on a game winning drive to do so. Otherwise, I fear we’re out of luck. I want to give him grace and I want him to prove me wrong because I want every Longhorn to succeed at the highest level. But right now the gameplan has to be build a lead and then hold on for dear life in the second half.
  2. Oh! They do indeed. For some reason their 5 star column is empty on the team rankings page.
  3. Based on what is available on On3 and 247, it looks like for the first time in conference history the ACC will complete this cycle without signing a single 5 star recruit. This will also be the second time that the Big 12 has finished a cycle without a 5 star with the other year being 2017. 5 stars aren't everything. You don't win a conference title just because you recruited a 5 star player. But to have the entire conference go a cycle without one really points to the perception problem both of these conferences face in football, with the Big 12 in much worse shape than the ACC.
  4. Not to beat a dead horse but the recruiting dynamic has changed so much in the the state of Texas that "what's building in Lubbock" is going to follow up it's best recruiting class of all time by finishing with a worse recruiting class than TCU and Baylor.
  5. I live in Lubbock and the amount of hot air coming from here when Micah committed was crazy. They had radio bites being played over and over again about how the Hudson commitment totally changed the perception of the program overnight and that this was a sign that Tech was on the cusp of greatness because they finally signed their very first 5 star recruit in school history. But they all collectively ignored the fact that the only reason Tech was ever in the race to begin with was because his dad played for them. That was it. And surprise surprise, he didn’t see any playing time and watched as freshman receivers at better programs started being contributors early on and decided to go elsewhere.
  6. A tradition unlike any other.
  7. I can already envision Liucci write up talking about the grit and heart that these farm boys played with against those silly sips. A&M wins their third straight moral victory on the season and that’s all that matters in the eyes of the good Aggie Lord above.
  8. Fun fact, this is the largest crowd in A&M history to watch their offense score 0 points.
  9. Slightly related, but I’m pretty sure that Georgia had never played a non conference game west of the Mississippi before they played Arizona State in 2008.
  10. I know he didn’t record a catch, but do we know if he had any targets or saw the field?
  11. I’m sure I’m wrong, but could it possibly be the case that Thamel had multiple tweets for Oregon, Texas, LSU, and Ohio State ready to publish the moment he committed and he inadvertently published the incorrect one way too early?
  12. The Aggies turning to their 12th man, wearing the number 12, to potentially get their 12th hit in the game and watching him swing and miss was a work of art. The fact that he went 0-2 in the World Series with a walk is peak Aggie.
  13. The fact that the national highlights for the final scheduled game against Tech will forever be accompanied by disappointed Texas Tech announcers is just *chef's kiss*
  14. "One more year with Coach Sark" seems to indicate Bama hasn't lured him away just yet. Things could still change, of course. But at the moment it would appear that Sark is staying put.
  15. I'm Aslan24 with Surly reporting that Josh Pate with CBS is reporting that Dan Lanning hasn't been in Tuscaloosa at all this week. Thanks. Thanks.
  16. It's a digital billboard. So... the Texas media team.
  17. My brother in Christ what positive “implications” could you possibly be referring to.
  18. No Power 5 experience??? SMU is an ACC POWERHOUSE you ignorant Sip.
  19. FWIW Micah Hudson just changed his Twitter Avi to this. Again, read into it what you will.
