  1. Credit to Jimmy Jazz for at least challenging one of my points, even if I disagree with his assessment. You on the other hand have no coherent input. You appear to understand Bitcoin and monetary policy/history about as well as Steve Sarkisian does halftime adjustments. Congrats on joining the Mount Rushmore of confidently ignorant posters on this thread. Make room, Bullneck and BrickHorn.
  2. The dollar is down 8.3% in purchasing power YoY. Bitcoin is down 13% YoY. As far as cryptography and math backing being bs, you’re still missing the point. That is what secures bitcoin. It’s agnostic. Anyone can use it. Or not. Guns secure fiat currencies and their rules and supply can be changed any time. That’s the difference. Central banking is the scam. A decade of zirp/QE to suppress interest rates and prop up asset (stocks, homes) prices. Scam. Debt monetization enabled money printing. Resulting inflation. Scam. Fed handing out $500B to European banks with no oversight. Scam. All of these things serve moneyed interests above the vast majority of Americans. The decisions are made by unelected officials that are often involved in a revolving door with the financial sector. Scam.
  3. A decent local top signal. Also, when arenas sign contracts with crypto exchanges. If Odell sticks with it he’ll be up long term though.
  4. It’s backed by cryptography/math and a set of defined rules. It’s not controlled by a small group of unaccountable individuals. How has J Powell been doing? Really nailed that inflation call.
  5. Dude. You really have no clue about bitcoin as a whole. Mining isn’t wildly profitable. It is profitable but is quite competitive. Its profitability is limited by price volatility, electricity costs and ever increasing competition as Jimmy Jazz suggested. Most miners that have been in the field are in because they are long term bulls.
  6. Simply mentioning stranded electricity=Talking up its glories. My God y’all have trouble with basic reading comprehension. Own it. Central banking/fiat currency is the real scam we’re dealing with here. You can go buy some right now. Bitcoin is quite egalitarian.
  7. I didn’t imply anything of the sort. Again, I was merely pointing out that Wildcat’s absolute was objectively false. You’re doing that thing where you read more into what I’m saying than what is actually there.
  8. Where did I say it was all stranded electricity? Just was pointing out instances where it’s literally impossible for it to be considered “waste”.
  9. Sorry. Was going off the top of my head. It’s a substantial amount, but in the grand scheme of things not really, given that a good percentage is based off renewables, using stranded energy etc. Using stranded electricity from renewables is wasteful? What about from flares natural gas? Wrong. Honestly we’ve gone around and round with energy FUD.
  10. I have no idea about crypto mining generally, but bitcoin mining uses 0.1% of electricity globally.
  11. I think what some posters here love to say when similar situations come up is fuck around and find out. On the plus side I’m guessing this contributed to the California budget surplus, which is then being used to offset inflation.
  12. not sure if she’s including the $40B aid that’s coming in the amount that is insufficient. For comparison’s sake the Marshall Plan was $125B in 2022 dollars.
  13. I’ll answer a little better here. First of all, you need to separate bitcoin from “crypto”. Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency. It’s by far the most decentralized and most secure. “Crypto” is a catch all term for other cryptocurrencies. These are almost universally very centralized, scammy speculative assets. Bitcoin is a verifiably scarce bearer asset in this time of monetary debasement. When held properly it is both censorship and confiscation resistant. You can transact with it however you please. You can personally possess it, meaning outside of a bank. It’s no one else’s liability. Its value goes up as more people find the above characteristics attractive for either monetary/financial or political reasons. Because it has a fixed supply, surges and falls in demand can cause exaggerated swings in the price, although it has muted slightly over time. Not really sure if you were serious but thought I’d put it out there in case you were being genuine. Now others will chime in and we’ll have the same nocoiner vs bitcoiner arguments. I can expand however you’d like.
  14. Because several times it has crashed that much and gone up multiples from there.
  15. A couple Texas centric items. Cynthia Lummis is his mother in law. Believe he’s responsible for her being a bitcoiner.
  16. With Bitcoin doing another 10x and its influence spreading significantly? We have seen that many times after smart people such as yourself declare it over. One day you’ll learn and you’ll get bitcoin at the price you deserve. I admire your commitment to so boldly displaying your ignorance on this thread. Probably so. These politicians are getting into it because of self interest. Here they are. We’ll see how many get orange pilled.
  17. Really? I’ve only seen him speak negatively of crypto. Siap
  18. This should tell us when the Fed is going to step in. Corporate credit market cracking.
  19. Luna sold almost all its BTC. Good news.
  20. This is where things get interesting. Has really backfired on Putin.
