  1. Except imagine a world where whenever DeSantis or Abbott is asked about it, they say “hell yeah I like the N word!” Or “I support priests that molest kids. In fact we need more contact between molesting priests and our children.”
  2. They hate this account because it makes it seem like the non existent might just exist. As a side note, I heard second hand that in Alamo Heights there’s a big hubbub started up over a 4th grader there. Boy allowed to use girl bathroom and the resulting backlash and then legal threats etc.
  3. I mean can you imagine the consequences if that guy had won? Florida locking down more for Covid. Probably other states open less. Less resulting migration across the country because the policies would be more homogenous. What does this lady’s faith have to do with anything? The original Taylor Lorenz piece doxxed her religion as well.
  4. This is so funny. What coincidental timing.
  5. I actually kind of get Brisket’s point, but Twitter isn’t a newspaper. It’s a tech platform. Between all his ventures I’m sure he has some smart, motivated people that would like to work on something like Twitter.
  6. Where’s the Easter Bunny when you need he/him?
  7. Again, if you have kids you know how very easily you can divert conversations you don’t want to have. Teachers obviously can redirect kids or else they wouldn’t be able to get anything done. Doesn’t have to be touched. As for being for small govt, I don’t think having a say in certain aspects of your kids’ education, which you pay for, contradicts that.
  8. Why discuss it anyway? Discussing gender identity stuff, as defined by liberals, with kids is creepy. Who talks about gender or sexuality at all with little kids that aren’t theirs anyway? Answer, creeps.
  9. That’s the funny paradox. 1) Something doesn’t even exist. 2)Pass law banning non existent thing. 3)People throw tantrum about how wrong it is to ban non existent thing (that happens to be creepy). 4)Sane people wonder why you’re wasting energy and airtime defending creepy, yet totally non existent thing.
  10. I’m amazed at how much Ds keep leaning into this. A losing issue that they keep demanding be stuck to them. And they’re amplifying it! Also lol from the replies.
  11. I didn’t say there was anything wrong with it necessarily, it’s just that at the end of the cycle, the bang you get per buck of debt and the inequality that results gets a little out of whack. Things have to get reset. Happening in the next 5-10 years. Crypto is lame.
  12. Don’t lump me in with that weirdo Vitalik. Once you start connecting the dots around the debt cycle and the predictable trends that happen over time, it’s hard to ignore. You can then prepare yourself accordingly. Doesn’t have to be Bitcoin. Dalio has written extensively on this stuff and isn’t a big Bitcoin advocate…yet.
  13. Booms and busts are inherent to capitalism, but the pros vastly outweigh the cons. Unfortunately we are living through the end of a debt super cycle and it will likely be chaotic. These things have happened before. Eventually there will be massive debt restructuring/forgiveness, followed by a brief return to sounder money and we’ll start over the whole thing. By the time we reach the end of the next one, we’ll all be dead and most people living then will think they have it figured out. Rinse, repeat.
  14. The Malthusian argument is a tired one. The planet can sustain a growing population. As to your second point, we may actually agree. Our economy needs an increasing population because it’s a debt based ponzi system. That’s the real reason western countries need immigration in the face of falling birth rates.
  15. He’ll have to re-invent his posting style. Will be tough to hide. He’s on a bender doing blow with DJTJr
  16. This makes sense but I’m not sure how much of a difference it will make. I don’t see it being a big deterrent to Blackrock or whatever other institutional firms are buying so many of these homes. They will just pass those costs on to renters unfortunately.
  17. We all know the solution. This chart pulled from the Tucker Carlson Institute for Health.
  18. Monetary policy has totally fucked the demand side of the housing equation for a while. Then there’s all kinds of ripple effects throughout the economy. A big one is Blackrock buying massive amounts of homes and becoming landlords because they’re looking for decent returns with all their cash. if this continues, only the rich will own homes. Everyone else will be serfs. As the World Economic said, “it’s 2030, you’ll own nothing, and be happy”. This is largely a moot point. In Port Aransas last weekend, the local grocery store prominently advertised they were hiring for multiple positions at $14/hour. Any fast food place is paying that. The effective minimum wage is well above what’s declared.
  19. Dude, I think you may have nailed it. Elon has a known shady side. Say he wants to move out of some of his Tsla stake at these high valuations, but doesn’t want to upset his slavish cult members. Rationalizing it to them, and the market, as a way to facilitate his altruistic Twtr purchase is beautiful. Pocket a few billion while you’re at it. Tsla is a cult investment. The investors are extremely passionate because he’s made them rich and negative arguments do not take hold with them. It’s similar to other investments I might be familiar with. 😂
