  1. First six STARTS for these Texas QBs: Ewers: 110-173 (58%), 1,336 yards, 13 TDs, 5 INTs (***** recruit, 1.000 rating) Card: 92-139 (66%), 1,127 yards, 9 TDs, 1 INT (**** recruit, 0.9721 rating) Thompson: 103-162 (64%), 1,456 yards, 16 TDs, 6 INTs (**** recruit, 0.9021 rating) Ehlinger: 133-239 (56%), 1,658 yards, 7 TDs, 6 INTs (**** recruit, 0.9446 rating) Buechele: 123-193 (64%), 1,500 yards, 13 TDs, 5 INTs (**** recruit, 0.9250 rating) I know I know, we have a long time to go with QE. But his first six starts are definitely underwhelming for a guy who was rated as a "perfect" recruit. I am confident he will get better and can't wait to see it.
  2. Random stats: Last 10 matchups: 7-3 for TCU. Last time they played in Austin: TCU won. Texas is 101st in pass defense. TCU is 21st in passing offense. TCU is 95th in pass defense. Texas is 49th in passing offense. Texas is 32nd against the run. TCU is 13th in rushing offense. TCU is 70th against the run. Texas is 35th in rushing offense. TCU is 38th in 3rd down conversion offense. Texas is 93rd in 3rd down conversion defense. Texas is 51st in 3rd down conversion offense. TCU is 64th in 3rd down conversion defense. TCU ranks 16th nationally in fewest penalties (42 total, 4.67 per game) Texas ranks 71st in fewest penalties (58, 6.44 per game). TCU seems to start slow, finish strong. Texas starts fast, finishes like shit. To me, their main advantage is Duggan. He just makes plays when needed.
  3. Ever since I first saw him throw my first thought was "why doesn't he throw the ball harder?" It always seems like he flicks it instead of throw it. Impressive when you see how far he throws it sometimes, but still. It's like everything is a lob with touch on it. That being said, I am glad he is our QB. He will get better. I guess just "flicking it" doesn't make you a 5* QB and one of the highest rated of all time, so what the hell do I know?
  4. Bored at work and was curious how Quinn's first five games of action compared to other top college QBs. I think these are fairly accurate :): Quinn: 82-142 (57%); 1,139 yards, 11 TDs, 5 INTs (ULM, Alabama, ou, Iowa State, Oklahoma State (a) Caleb Williams: 77-108 (71%); 1,171 yards, 14 TDs, 1 INT (Western Carolina, Texas, TCU, Kansas (a), Texas Tech) (First road game: 15-20, 178, 2/1) Bryce Young: 108-148 (73%); 1,365 yards, 17 TDs, 2 INTs (Games vs: Miami, Mercer, Florida (a), Souther Miss, Ole Miss) (First Road game: 22-35, 240, 3/0) CJ Stroud: 104-161 (65%); 1,699 yards, 21 TDs, 3 INTs (Minnesota (a), Oregon, Tulsa, Rutgers (a), Maryland) (First Road game: 13-22, 294, 4/1) I know a lot of factors go into those numbers. Ohio State and Bama had some of the best WR rooms in the country, hell some of the best all time. Their offensive lines were great too. I think the biggest difference for Texas is the offensive line. VERY young and inexperienced. Let's just hope Quinn doesn't continue what happened against Okie State.
  5. I thought in the preseason we would not do any better than 9-3 this season. We still can do that, but it is not looking great. I think Quinn will get better. There HAD to be something wrong with him during the okie state game. It wasn't just the "first road start" narrative. Who knows what it was. Sark definitely should have seen that Quinn wasn't right and put in Card. Those are the decisions that come with being the head coach.
  6. Forgot to say. PK should be let go tonight.
  7. Why was he wearing gloves in pregame? It was 88 degrees. Why?!?
  8. I’m going off of all the comments “wr played like shit.” Maybe they did, but a qb can’t play like Ewers did and win a game. Hell, the announcers couldn’t get over the fact at how many “overthrows” he had. He was off all game and it was obvious early. Can’t blame the WRs when the QB can’t get the ball to them.
  9. How are people blaming the WRs? Ewers sucked. That is it. The question is: why the FUCK did we throw almost 50 times? Why no handoffs to the guy in motion. The motion was working so well early, then we went away from it. I am beginning to think, for the first time, that Sark isn’t the answer. I am tired of this. Can we PLEASE burn and get rid of all the “All Gas No Brakes” shit? We suck at keeping the lead and everyone knows it.
  10. What a fucking loss. Fuck this shit. We were up 31-17?!!!?!!?
  11. This is over. Okie State about to drive down for a TD and leave maybe 2 minutes left. We can’t do anything and it’ll end 41-34.
  12. Blame the defense all you want, this game is on the offense.
  13. Remember all the “Ewers was warming up with gloves on” tweets? Gotta be a reason. I don’t know what, but interesting that he was using them in warmups and now is really sucking during the game. Don’t know. Just thinking out loud.
  14. We simply cannot throw the ball downfield anymore. What the fuck is going on? Quinn hurt? Seriously.
  15. I’ll say it. Quinn sucks at throwing the deep ball.
  16. FUCKIN ROJJJJOOOOOOO!!!!
  17. Not the point.
  18. Quinn is gonna go for 325 today with 4 TDS. Give or take.
  19. I don’t think ESPN cares if he’s a great musician or not. To me, it is pretty obvious.
  20. McAfee is better than anything ESPN has on that show and it isn’t close. They knew what they were doing when they added him to the show. I’ll add: not sure when they did it, but notice how the theme song/band has added like 30 new singers including a woman and another black man who just repeats what is being said? DIVERSITY DAMMIT! They also barely show John Rich because he is now a vocal conservative voice. Anyway, I haven’t watched it awhile. Big Noon is better.
  21. I've never personally thanked you for your avatar. God Bless you TexasMan.
  22. Oklahoma State: W, 43-35 (close one in Stillwater. Quinn plays well on his first true road game totaling 3 TDs and 275 yards passing) Kansas State: W, 34-27 (Martinez runs for over 100 yards, but so do Bijan AND Rojo. Billingsley gets first TD as a Horn) TCU: W, 41-40 (TCU enters undefeated and with a Top-Five ranking. Sideshow Bert wins it at the buzzer.) Kansas: W, 50-20 (We flick the Bean and pick him off two times. Revenge tour continues. Keilan returns a kickoff for TD and scores one on the ground) Baylor: W, 33-23 (Closer than it should be. Reminds everyone of the ISU game with a few more points.) Hey, why not? I also think we could go 1-4 during the stretch, but what the hell? I think this team has the potential to be really good. Quinn will continue to grow and we have Bijan and Roschon to help carry the load when things aren't going well. Before the season I thought our OL would not be great again, but they have done a pretty good job. They too will continue to get better. The defense? Man, tough watch on 3rd and 4th down, but again, I think they can only get better.
