  1. Watch the Michigan game with a healthy Ewers. He never fully recovered from ankle sprains and core issues. Lack of velocity and deep throws were already suspect but became an albatross. He was using pure arm on things with no core or foundation. Still did an admirable job. Arch then the next, Dia? Moore? etc Sark knows Qbs.
  2. that tie is pure class. This is a young man that went from walk on to all everything and wants a championship. Recruiting, I'd really like M.Lee in this class and Roseborough. Cooper too. Can a 6'8" guy (Wright) play center? I don't know OL stuff other than seeing Ojo get his ass handed to him by every EDGE guy he faced. That seems bad to me. And his first step was always wrong. Wright is smart, guard or center after development?
  3. And on TT. I sold A PE company near there. Have any of you been in West Texas? You honestly can't drink the water from fracking - all for it I guess but damn. Lubbock is a true shitstain. Oil money has a decent look but that place is below Ukraine on living. Ojo getting put on his ass by every 4-5* guys, well dodged a bullet there. Let's flip M.Lee.
  4. Well. good for aggie. They do have a great recruiting class. I'm curious on how it ends though? I'm sure Elk and that elite coaching staff will bring it home on some Golden Corral developmental program with their S$C coach from WWII. I'll be amazed if this class of aggie doesn't do a 2022. Give them time. Sleeping giant and that.
  5. LOL, Agree! and also agree with @Codaxx. He can stuff the run, rush, or drop back in coverage. There's a reason he's going 1st round after this year. He can do anything. Best I've seen since D. Johnson. He's a monster. Heck, you could play that talent at safety even - he's that damn good. Ok, my China take out place closes soon, bbl after an MSG coma.
  6. I like Bobby but, damn you guys are hook/line/sinker on pure common sense on things. He gives what is easily known. No insiders on this staff.
  7. I agree with @Vertigo, Roseborough with what the Coleman brothers have done first year to body reshape and strengthen (one dropped almost 40 lbs other gained muscle mass) could be maulers in the IOL. Nick Brooks seems to be doing great at learning OT. I'd like to get Atkinson but he's not an Ant Hill and we have a few super studs waiting in LB. Not worth going nuts on money imo. This is a take a break on some areas year (WR especially - developmental time). We've got DT in the works to avoid such harsh portal needs. OL - need to flip Lee imo. Secondary, as long as Smoke has close down corner ability, we are good. If not, we f'ed up on that purchase. Cooper, really would like to get him but under realistic terms.
  8. aggie has done a great job on recruiting. They need basically, everything. One of their main recruiting strategies is similar to their Soviet campus design "isolationism" from what CS is really like. They can buy players ala 2022 but I suspect their current class will, as usual, have massive defections after a year there. Maybe Elko sold them though. Will be interesting. Especially on WR. Reed is not good - watch their Spring game. Turn off volume because every play some goober is talking about how great he runs while he can't hit a WR unless (2nd half) they use 2-3rd string secondary for him. Reed not at SEC media day. The 2nd guy is better and that random guy they brought in looked better but Reed can run! They're going to have trouble keeping those OOS kids once they realize life in CS. They'll start well but at best 8-4 imo would be the top. Recruiting, this relates because we can flip some after November. There's only a couple I'd want though. Never been sold on Krempin, maybe Roseborough? We never seemed to engage Arrington, who knows? Their defense can only improve after wasting NFL talent that Wisner abused. But Elk is taking charge there, so who knows. Defense for them - man coverage and stuff the run with contained blitz on Reed (he can run).
  9. I'm in the Texas has a plan (it's similar to NFL payment validation for positions and players) and hope they follow it. This is a developmental/plug year for us. No recruit other than potentially Wesley will see significant playing time other than maybe special teams from this class for 2 or more years. That's what we need. Backstopping our DL, OL, secondary, a LB or so to develop. Would like to flip M. Lee if reasonable, Cooper would be great - big back but stay sane on it. People aren't looking at our current roster talent enough. We need to keep those guys that have a year or so in our system first (Becton is greatness). We can develop now and have time for it ... unlike the prior 10 or so years. Get the best talent in a reasonable way, develop them, profit with wins. Ojo is a great example of what not to do. He needs the Goosby plan but his TT deal is for 3 years. Ideally he would develop over 2 or so years then contribute. TT has put themselves in a position that he may get a year if lucky and will struggle or may never get it. His recent tape shows this. Every EDGE we looked at or have (Wesley) showed how raw he is on skill. It's geared for the defense on those drills! Wrong. No hips, no flex, no use of power, bad feet, too high, bad first step, etc. Can be coached but needs time. Their deal doesn't allow that. Maybe it works OK in Big 12, not here for that price tag. Good post @SL Xpress.
  10. Yes, but most of us knew that. The inflated market prices would also cause locker room issues. Sark's worked hard to get our team to be a team. Imagine an Ojo coming in to sit the bench with his fool agent spouting a guaranteed $5.1M deal? It doesn't matter the real numbers, that shit may work at TT, not here. The other is that our AD will not make promises they 100% can't back up. The evolving - who knows, legal guardrails for revenue, NIL, etc. We refuse to play in the grey. So far we've taken care most positions we need for developing depth. Would still like a top OL, LB as priorities. A top RB, CB next. Other than that, opinions on what else we need?
  11. Well, Wesley absolutely schooled him. Kinda wondering about missing on Lee tbh.
  12. Damn good insight Sir, thank you. This is what many don't understand. Texas isn't playing this new game until we understand it. Shit can involve FBI investigations since it's Federal now and any funds have a $1 that crossed state lines.. Luckily, we have real lawyers and a real law school. Unlike a poor bred school (aggie) we have to give funds to. And my 40 time (not you SLX) - who knows now, I'm just trying to not die - which is harder than some realize. Positive is Texas gets a few million on my death.
  13. Come-on man. I went from jogging 3 miles 3x a week swimming miles to 51 with zero beer gut no love handles, still a 32in waist and sometimes I need a wheelchair. MS/hemochromatosis/Parkinson who knows but I can say MRI suck, Spinal tap recovery suck, Catscanes easy issues and frankly left arm isn't working
  14. If ever near Atlanta, drinks on me Sir.
  15. Oh, and money is fungible. It takes a single out of state dollar to taint all the House appropriated funds. And thereby draw scrutiny.
  16. @CTJ, you, @campcrunk, @texifonia and others have all given wonderful insights. A simple fact from the House ruling that no one has mentioned yet is that if money from either side crosses a state line, you get the BIG boys in suits involved...that becomes an FBI issue. Texas isn't going to play fast and loose with this. aggie already is and, shit don't they still owe their supposed academic side about 20M? Those fools will bankrupt. LSU takes federal funds to pay players. Nothing new from Louisiana, last state to obey federal laws on drinking, have federal funds for interstates withheld (thankfully, I'll admit I was buying drive thru daiquiris at 15 with extra shots of Everclear - wait, that may have been negative for me). Not cloak room, but you don't fuck with the hammer the FBI can bring. Hell, they recruited me! They didn't like my question on, I get to carry a gun always as an accountant? 1997. We will get the recruits we need as always. We're not playing any cheating games - didn't under DKR even. Some schools beg for relevance and use bags, illegal funds, whatever, Texas doesn't.
  17. My ex- wife went from a size 1-2 under 100lbs super pretty. Aged like a rhino, divorced that shit.
  18. There you go. Send CTJ 9.95 please. He's more plugged in than any of the blowhard clickbait dipshits. Also understands our monetary structure. There's some interview that Sark alludes to it with culture, etc. I'll take 30% cut CTJ 😉
  19. That is a damn fine looking watch 10/10 for sure imo. Classic Daytona with updates.
  20. Our NIL opportunities are first rate, If that's the simple answer you wanted.
  21. See above and CTJ and a few can give more details. We essentially operate like an NFL team. We have salary caps to fiscally manage our roster. It's why we don't have mass player exodus (aggie, etc). You may eventually get a firm NIL deal but it's not our first selling point ever.
  22. Same difference my friend. We don't lead with a money first approach. We sell on what we offer first and then if sold, let NIL take that up.
  23. We can outbid nearly anyone. BUT we have a salary structure. It's why you see roster retention here. The Fausi recruitment is a great example. OU paid a lot. We weren't willing to blow up our roster dynamics for him, rightfully so.
  24. It's June. Yesterday my 14yo son declared eggs are horrible. He ate two scrambled with a touch of curry today. Shocking the 9.95 sites are clueless on recruiting. Wesley came out of nowhere. More will happen.
  25. of course we are IF we really want him.
