Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - This Is Fine
I'm with you on this. It's a pride thing and being a true Blue Blood. A free month to train our guys for next year is huge. Titles mentioned above - well, shit if we could just catch OU, I'd be happy. Alabama - won't happen in my lifetime.

Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - This Is Fine
As a staff we seem to lock up our priority guys in the portal fairly fast in past years. I'm confident there are a few conversations being had. Now, the bullshit that Flood has created ... tamper whatever, fix it. Ideally, we replace Flood and grab 2-3 starting quality OL. WR we recruited 3 or so 4/5* guys a year ago. They can't all be bad? If so, coaching issues. RB - yep we need at least one. The Florida guy seems great for this. If we don't fix Flood's debacle at OL, this won't matter.

well stated @Hank_Hill. My anger isn't towards you or any other Longhorn. I've given too much money, etc to see incompetence.

Portal needs for OL after 4+ years. Would you survive in job with that? I wouldn't. Look at the bread flood recruits and huge misses. That's elite? If I give any employee 4+ years to do a job... it's either perfection or fired on the spot. Lee was a one year training guy. Turntine is a many years and hope.

So we get a 260lb IOL that should be a TE for our next great tackle? Time? Well, Flood has had 4 years to get our next OL in place. If he can't be fired for cause and his terrible recruiting. This is the dumb fook that wasted 3 years developing Stroh and trotted him out as a starter. Does it take 3+years to teach a huge dude - low center of gravity, push the guy in front of you down or at least away. It's not like he had any pulling guard tasks. It's see guy in front move him away. M. Lee was the unicorn this cycle.

Our best bet with Turntine is shed about 10lbs, teach him to catch, run about 5 routes. Bingo TE solved. He can block too. Even if we bloated him up, he's IOL frame. Could be a great pulling guard I guess.

Ouch, seems like a long hard fall for Beck. Now on the Flood bullshit. He had one (his first) good recruiting class. Most if not all the starters will be in the NFL. Since then he has gotten projects and an occasional decent prospect. He had 4 years to develop his 2nd OL here. We got dogshit. His recruiting is now dumpster fire bad. M. Lee was who we needed at all costs. Great, we got a jumbo TE in Turntine that needs 40-50lbs of good weight. Robertson who needs 2 or more years in body shaping. Some of you lifters, tell me how easy adding 40-50lbs of good mass is? It's NOT easy and of course a guy has fast feet when he's 2/3rds of what he needs to weigh. Flood and Akina need to go. The new RB coach seems really solid, great add.

That's some Rosemary Baby shit. Did a creepy old woman give his mom smoothies? Trying to get the facts on this abomination.

Something is really wrong with William. You don't have a misaligned head, eyes, and eyebrows as a normal human. Maybe as a serial killer or rapist? Look in the mirror, any of you fat bastards have all those head trauma issues? Maybe his mom was beaten with a bat when pregnant or drugs?

Has our WR D. Moore ever not been hurt? We pick up Mosley - hurt. If our WR coach can't get a few of these 4/5* freshman ready - fire him. Flood should be replaced for many reasons. Akina - replace. The rest, don't care they aren't complete fuck ups like the above.

Thank you, sir. Helps me wrap my brain around this OL problem in a meaningful way. And once again the Flood problem - bad eval. We can do better. One of the smartest post I've read on here, appreciate it.

@LCHornthank you, sir. My friend, @TexasRenegadeI think with your knowledge. Support our almini. I've given what I can almost 500k. I wish I could do more but my own issues kinda suck.

Guys, I'm just asking for more knowledge. @TexasRenegadeno reason for ad hominem attacks. @BurntOrange&White gave some thoughtful ideas. That is what I wanted to better understand the game. Nothing he said was against you, why attack him? I guess it's fun like a big dick contest but sometimes donating real fans are just asking innocent questions to think about more informed views.

Oh, and that GT RB coach is very interesting imo. Not a chance on Rutgers guy. The GT guy would come into this program in awe and his head on fire to produce.

Legit question. Stroh is 6.6, ~350lbs, a yard wide. In theory if he just gets low it's 2 seconds to get around him. Get a hand on them and it's a bonus 1-2 seconds? What makes a giant like him fail so badly? Speed, T-Rex arms, weak (he's got to have lower body strength just to walk at 350lbs), development, talent? Honest question. 2nd - I know many of you hit the gym. Is it easier to gain 40-50 of decent mass or lose 20-30 of bad mass? I was a swimmer, neither was a concern for me, so I have no idea. I just needed cardio. Thanks for input.

I'd say T. Becton did this with S&C. It took what? 8 games to get the correct personnel in? It's not extreme. Flood and his recruiting after y1 is a disaster. Can we run for 1 yard on a 4 and 1 without Arch? No person on the OL got better other than bigger and stronger.

Here's my Flood hatred summed up. Most here have had or maybe still have jobs. If you are given 4-5 years to get something done, you make a choice. If it's implement SAP - get out asap. Probably will bankrupt the company anyway. Otherwise, your choice is can do this or can't but have a 4 or so year runway to find a landing spot. I'm assuming you can lie to the Board on progress - maybe 2yrs. Flood is an absolute disaster after his first year.

Flood is my #1 target to replace. 4 years for this OL shit? His recruiting is beyond terrible and keeps getting worse. #2 is Akina - just a bad fit. #3 would be Milwee but I've been told that's a no-go. Wtf does he even do or look like? No idea on WR or RB tbh. RB we're using a scatback as an all purpose back. WR - they don't seem to develop like other high rated prospects do.

Yea, Turntine who is closer to TE size than OL. Let me know when he gains 40-50 lbs of good weight and moves to an IOL. Robertson who will need 2 years of body reshaping. Wright decommitting was probably a win.

Flood is our biggest problem. 4 years to get a "next" OL together and this shit? His recruiting is terrible. Pure bread - nothing this class.

Not with Flood coaching and recruiting bread, my friend.
-
2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
I'm hoping Flood is done. Akina is a given. Flood had a great y1 OL class, had 4 years to get a "next" OL ready and we get this shit? Since y1 he has occasionally recruited 1 good prospect and then bread. Last year Brooks was the highlight. This year Robertson may after 2 years of body reshaping. Turntine is a jumbo TE at this point and needs 40-50lbs of good weight. Lee was a huge miss, I'd trade all our OL this class for him. The problem with this is if that if your one decent prospect misses or leaves after multiple years of paying him to ride the bench, you're screwed and relying on bread. I haven't seen anything to suggest OL development other than what T. Becton has done in S&C. Someone above said, maybe some of these guys have peaked? Yep, 3* bread has peaked. The amount of holds, no ability to open lanes or move people, bad pass protection, etc. This shit is on Flood and his shit recruiting of large (basically tall, very out of shape, super slow, fat people) humans.

On their stadium comments. I was at DKR about 10 years ago (before the new Longhorn entrance) and every game from '91-97. I haven't been to as many of the stadiums as many of you. I went to aggy during that time - even that freezing game. My impression on DKR was - holy shit, this place is like the Galleria now. Colored and textured concrete with really classy stuff. Has this not been kept up?

Do we have legit OT after Goosby and Baker? I think we may need an OT also?
