  1. The best account of the Mississippi, the Corps of Engineers efforts to harness it, and the many societal changes wreaked by the great flood of 1927 is Riding Tide. I suggest it as a fascinating read. As said before the issues of the river, the delta, and New Orleans are complex and rooted mostly in the destruction of salt marshes and Corp efforts to maintain navigation and the commerce of the port. The issues aren’t from recent “climate change” events but of much older actions. I love New Orleans and the area. It’s important from commerce on the river and culturally as well.
  2. My Nola friends will tell you the best thing that happened to the city was the relocation of many criminals to parts unknown.
  3. Our son lives out in the country outside Shawnee OK. Yesterday someone dumped 10 puppies at their house near their barn. Weaned, great shape, in a nice large kennel. 9 boys 1 girl. They look like lab/ mutts and very nice looking dogs. I think my son will keep one I mean two maybe three. My wife was naming them in the pics and wanted to drive up and get four or five. We’re dogless at the moment and not ready for another. Or five. They know no one with a preggo dog but it’s like they knew they would care for them. A special ring of hell for folks that dump dogs like that.
  4. You make your taters I’ll make mine.
  5. Sturm likes that ghey Aggie whoop whoop they do in the brisket station. So annoying.surprised they’re not wearing those bedazzled overalls.
  6. It’s pretty insane. We’re about 6 shows in. Wife is amazed few men are clipped in the uk; her first husband was not and she don’t like foreskins. These folks are all just normal folks although evidently some have started only fans pages. They are paid nothing to be on the show. If they are in the green room and not used they get like 50 pounds and if actually selected for a date they get about 35 pounds each. If you’re in the booth and dismissed you get nothing. We enjoy starting to guess what these folks might actually look like compared to the face reveal.
  7. I can imagine driving an Auburn in Depression era Texas, checking out my oil patch in Mexia, hauling ass down a dirt road.
  8. Actually both correct. Onions in the bacon grease (plus diced fresh jalapeños) and toss in green onions and chopped parsley at the end.
  9. As much as I’ve fretted about the health of this o line and the need for more bodies, they didn’t do horrible today. I hope these three make it back next week as Belichik will be looking to fuck with them and Dak. Martins groin is a real concern; those usually don’t heal quickly .
  10. She’s going overseas on tour soon. He’s tied up til February. I figure a song is introduced before she leaves Australia.
  11. She was smart enough to not go date Warren Sapp in college.
  12. Diggs shouldn’t be as if the front 7 being intact pressure should still be 2.1 sec. They are getting bamboozled and qb has time.
  13. Pure shit. Be nice to have another o lineman on the roster instead of Trey Lance.
  14. I always watch nfl network. Glad Michael got reinstated. Kyle Brandt guesting today; he is so good on GMFB every morning. The Sunday show is missing Rachel Bonnetta. She was so funny.
  15. Naked Attraction on Max, a British dating show done nekkid. The dater is presented six nude datees, who are first revealed waist down, then torso then face then voice. With an elimination each stage. The dater then gets naked. It’s closeups of everything (no pink). They then go on a clothed date. It’s very different as these are fairly ordinary folks. Tessa is a dental hygienist from Dover, loves hiking and Indian takeaway, and hates picking pubic hair out of her teeth. A lot of the eliminations are driven by feet, various accents, and other things besides the obvious.
  16. When I lived in Portland a coworker built a 427 Cobra kit car in his garage. It was a perfect clone and could be driven instead of a trailer queen. I’ve been in fast cars but that was an absolute beast, a brutally powerful car. It was like you were saddled on the 427.
  17. Were I made of money, were they not already in my collection, I’d get the 35 Auburn, one of the Ford GTs, and that Orangey bronco.
  18. Bo nix runs good for a 42 year old man
  19. His OC is not helping. With that rush he needs a run game and short quick routes. He’s back there trying to see something and is going to get kilt.
  20. Le Margot is also a bit strange. Looks like a mash up between French Room and Cheddars. It seems like these concepts with Graham elliot would be more at home in some pretentious place like highland Park.
  21. I’d enjoy all these screamers and assholes be shot into the sun. As a special treat I would put olbermann in that Tesla Musk shot into space. I enjoy Mina Kimes and that nfl show is about The only show I watch on ESPN. She knows the league plus I dig the American/Korean lady parts too. I really am missing the humor and irreverence of Rachel Bonnetta this season. I wish she would get hired by someone; she was offered GMFB but wouldn’t leave LA. Also thought Kay Adam’s would have landed as well. At least the smart yet lovely Colleen Wolfe is still working.
  22. So Sterling Harjo is done with the story and he is moving on. Originally I was respectful of that but now I’m just pissed off a him. The story is obviously not done and we are going to be left with a bunch of loose ends, what ifs, and but now what’s. I also hate that these remarkable actors are being turned out from this great ensemble and this great platform. I want so much more of this show.
  23. I knew it was three 2 hour eps but I guess I thought they all dropped yesterday. Peacock will automatically go to another program fast and we’re watching a car chase with a motorcycle. Wife is like wow they copied that John wick car chase. I hit pause and it said John Wick 2. We enjoyed it. It will be interesting to see how the young characters become the folks they are in The John wick movies.
  24. When I lived in Portland I worked with a lifelong Eggles fan. He was shocked I’d take my wife or kid to a game at Texas stadium when ii had season tix. He said the Vet was too dangerous and he’d never do that. We were in Jersey on business and they had a Monday night game at the vet so we went. That was back when they had a judge and a jail under the stadium. It was an absolute zoo. Fights, drunks passed out in the aisles, and dudes throwing anything they could find to throw. A dude near us threw his SHOES. He got drug off to jail.
