  1. Hard for me to say someone that finished ranked 3 out of 4 years at Texas with a top 10 finish and finished #8 in the country at UH after whipping the shit out of Bob Stoops and Jimbo Fisher "sucked" as a head coach. Strong sucked. McWilliams sucked. I look at Herman about like Mackovic. Both did some things at Texas. Mackovic had two conference titles and finished ranked half his years but sucked in bowl games and had a losing season. Herman finished ranked 3/4 of his years and won the Sugar Bowl and all other bowls and never had losing seasons. Both needed to go.
  2. Herman was average to above average. He is not anywhere near a worst coach in history. His tenure at Texas wasn't spectacular. But he went 4-0 in bowl games and finished ranked 3 times in four seasons, including a top 10 finish. He was 32-18 at Texas and 22-13 in conference play (with winning seasons in conference every year). He also went 22-4 at UH and finished #8 in the country. He just does not belong in the conversation as even a bad coach. We wanted better, rightfully. He was never going to get us into a playoff and his recruiting was trending down. His turtling against teams we were a lot better than drove me nuts. Firing him was the right thing. But his tenure was nothing like the embarrassment and disaster of Charlie Strong.
  3. OSHA is going to cite that suit coat button for a workplace safety hazard. That thing is going to put someone's eye out. And does College Station not have a dry cleaners? Or does he not own a steamer? I used to be too heavy though nothing anywhere near Elko. I get it, it's hard to look decent in a suit if you're obese. (And he is morbidly obese by any medical standard). But when you have his money, you can get a tailor to make you look better than a ill-fitting Jos A Banks or DXL suit that it looks like you kept wadded up in the truck of your car. Especially at an event where you are being introduced to hundreds of thousands of people after accepting a job that sets you up financially for life.
  4. Exactly. No idea if he's a good guy. I do know he might be the dumbest bastard to ever coach a p5 school. If he's not, it does not take long to call roll.
  5. Dipshits. Our offense struggled when Quinn got hurt against UH. He was not healthy until Tech, the last game of the regular season. Our offense was lethal when Quinn was healthy. The delta between Ewers and Murphy was massive. The delta between Ewers and RS Sophomore Manning isn't.
  6. You know him? How do you know he's a good guy? Him fucking around on his wife with a booster's wife? Him structuring and backloading his USF contract in bad faith in a way to deliberately fuck over Texas?
  7. Yeah. But that loss made most of that noise fall on deaf ears. It got no traction.
  8. I quit drinking years ago. I will drink a Guinness 0 once a month or so. I like them. Only 60 calories too.
  9. I was pulling for Kansas that game. Knew we needed that one to get rid of that fool without the race card being played by media.
  10. More likely the old divorce diet
  11. Remember the “Charlie is a nice guy, but…..” that many people around here felt they needed as a predicate to any criticism of that imbecile.
  12. Or against Okie State with about 30 seconds left in the half on fourth down with all three timeouts. And we take a delay of game that pushes us past the comfortable range of our kicker.
  13. He also benefitted from playing mostly antiquated and easy to defend acc offenses with mediocre talent while coaching up ridiculous talent Dabo acquired. I’m not certain he’s anything special against modern offenses.
  14. SMU doing a great job keeping it close to a superior team.
  15. Choate is a good football coach
  16. Bailed out.
  17. I detest SMU. Been litigating against them for 5 years. Their admin are scumbags. So go Nevada.
  18. David Carr had years with really high completion percentages. Because he would dump off to a running back on third and long.
  19. And as the mayor in Naked Gun. Mayor : Drebin, I don't want anymore trouble like you had last year on the South Side. Understand? That's my policy. Frank : Yes. Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's *my* policy. Mayor : That was a Shakespeare-In-The-Park production of "Julius Caesar", you moron! You killed 5 actors! Good ones.
  20. The 1969? That shit is more burnt orange than 90% of the garbage posted here lol It did not look good on me. Maybe it is my coloring. But yes. And I love Poncho shirts
  21. My wife does not work. Kids are in school and her life is pretty damn easy. She is a very good wife. She stays in shape, has pretty routine lunches with her friends, and takes care of house/kids after school. Like me she is a licensed attorney and will occasionally work off and on. She also handles kid doctor visits. Yesterday she spent an hour on the phone with health insurance and a couple medical providers about some bills one or both combined to screw up. Like many on hear, I have a stressful job. Deal with problems most all day long. Yesterday was a doozy for me. I am getting ready to have a trial that's going to require me to be out of town for a month. We are locking and loading. I was on phones or zooms all day preparing. Dropped daughter off at school at 7:30 then went to office. Did not get home until 9 or so. She wants to give me a detailed play by play of her multiple extended phone calls. I am never in the mood for that, but especially after the day I just had (and the week). Apparently telling her I do not want her to replay her phone calls makes me an asshole. She gets defensive and pissed when I tell her to just fast forward to the end and don't subject me to every detail of her misery. But no one wants to hear that shit. Tell me you had a long and frustrating call with those folks. Don't give me all the details. I don't ever do that to her, and believe me I deal with inane or frustrating bullshit every day. I am happy to talk about your day and let's focus on positive things and maybe even negative things I can actually do something about. But I don't want to re-live every slightly bad experience you had when the conclusion was everything worked out fine and there was nothing for me to do.
  22. Sent back my Poncho burnt orange western. The color just does not look great, IMO. Did buy the corduroy burnt orange long sleeve and the Earl. Hope the Earl looks better than the plain burnt orange.
  23. Jamaal would have strolled in.
