  1. It fixes a lot of issues with a 16-team conferences. We play 3 rivals every year. And rotate home and away through the other 12 teams in 4 years. Kind of like how we played the big 12 north back in the old days. It is the best possible scenario for a 16-team conference and prevents absurdities like A&M playing Georgia once in 13 years.
  2. Format needs tweaking. First two rounds should be home games for higher seed. And no auto high seeds for conference winners. Seed properly using power rankings.
  3. It makes more regular season games important, not fewer. In the past if you lost a game or two, season was over. Now many, many games late in year that were otherwise meaningless have relevance.

  5. Wait, how have we played 52 top 25 ranked teams compared to A&M's 43? I have been assured we have played a much weaker schedule than A&M the last 10 years. (Note - I think they played a statistically tougher schedule 2 out of the last 8 seasons)
  6. You'd be all for it if it was a sticker in Old English on the back of a lowrider with a wolf howling at the moon.
  7. Is your point that the additional SEC conference game won't draw as many viewers as a FCS yawner?
  8. I was glad to see that announcement. I hope they are faithful to it. Because there is still some old school thinking with poll voters about not putting a 3 loss team above a 2 loss team. I prefer more of a power ranking approach. Say Ohio State loses to us in a close game late. They really should not drop in the polls due to that loss (unless Texas was somehow a fraud and we end up losing a bunch of games). I hope teams that schedule FCS byes in November are penalized. I'd drop them in the polls for that nonsense.
  9. I am hoping against hope they make A&M come to Texas 2x in a row like we had to do with them. Mainly because them losing their shit would be funny. But also we have a ranch near Navasota and do thanksgiving with my family there on odd years. Would allow us to go to the game in BCS those seasons easily.
  10. Is it really? I guess the Covid year with fake football, no crowds, and them beating no one good kind of skewed things. They still have not had back to back winning records in conference games since the 1990s. They go 4-4 in the SEC and 4-0 in their nonconference cream puffs where in many years their tough game was against some awful team like Colorado pre-Deion and then brag about going 8-4 against a SEC schedule. I am hoping the committee will lead the way and no longer just look at records and give teams with the fewest losses the benefit of the doubt. Because that just rewards weak schedules.
  11. Same. It’s just a much better product. Blue Bell is about the same quality as the generic plastic tub of ice cream poor people buy at Wal Mart. It’s garbage. If I’m going to eat ice cream, which is something I enjoy every so often, I want it to be good.
  12. A&M is a major rival. We need to admit that. Arkansas is our #3.
  13. Yeah don’t recall anything racist from REk. Coe is terrible.
  14. I think it's been very strong so far.
  15. He did not have a great night passing. Hit a couple. But he ran for like 250 yards at ten per carry. We could not stop him. We were lucky they decided to throw late because at a minimum, they could have tied it with a field goal. Instead he tosses a pick to Vasher. Typical soul crushing loss to Texas by Nebraska. No matter which team was a lot better, I think every game save 2003 was close. And Texas would win in some weird way. I loved beating them.
  16. That is no surprise at all. Seems like he has never generated any positive buzz since signing day.
  17. Tech has minted more than a few billionaires and hundred millionaire types from the Midland Basin in the last 10 years. I don't think OU has those types. Some of the Texas Tech billionaires I know personally focus more on politics than sports. But Sellers and Campbell certainly love their sports.
  18. I think there are 5 teams in the SEC that can be regular national title contenders -- Texas, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. I just do not see Alabama falling off unless they hire a terrible coach. They hired a very good one post Saban. OU, Tennessee, A&M, and Auburn are your second tier. Ole Miss kind of is to as long as they have Lane and are willing to push their chips in on portal every few years.
  19. He has really redeemed himself. He was basically Lattimer from the Program at OU. I love a redemption story, so I kind of like the guy now. He is also pretty good at his job in an industry where so many just mail it in.
  20. Joyner was going to be their most explosive player on offense. Really sucks for them. I have always pulled for Tech because I have a lot of West Texas roots. Kind of my (distant) second favorite team. I got annoyed with their fans during the Leach years always bitching about officiating despite their OL being allowed to hold our front 7 with impunity -- 2008 being the worst when that scrub who was a wannabe WWE wrestler with face paint was allowed to wrap his arms around the neck of Orakpo and Kindle all night long. And the one holding call that night was a bad call against Ulatoski when the DE basically lost his balance, and it directly led to the pick 6 by Colt to Daniel Charbonnet.
  21. It was a pretty bad Nebraska team. They went 7-7. Defense let us down a bit. But Lord was a pretty damn good college QB, especially that season when he ran for 1500 yards. He had a career night against us. Offense played very well that night. Passing game really worked. Simms would either throw it to Roy Williams if he was open or check it down to Ivan Williams, who murdered them that night.
  22. Venables has two losing seasons in 3 years. He doesn’t recruit well. I wouldn’t be optimistic if I was them. Maybe arbuckle is a savant and mateer is great. If so, they will still lose at least 4.
  23. Motown -- You should read your posts back to yourself and think about it.
