  1. Dude that’s a straight up rock banger!
  2. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today. Where there's life, there's hope.
  3. I'm saving this for all the assholes in my neighborhood fb page who are spiking the football on this Colombia stupidity.
  4. There was a while there where they were in constant rotation for me. They put on a great show at ACLFest back in the day as well. And somehow I know I've bought their CD multiple times but I still can't lay hands on a copy when I want one - they all just got up and walked off. Testament to their work I suppose.
  5. Man, this is a tough one. I wound up with about three lists and any of them could have worked. Tried to keep it to two per decade of rawk from the 50s through 2010s. I don't feel like we've had any great all time rockers make the list in the 2020s, plus we don't have the benefit of time to look back. With that context: Maybellene - Chuck Berry Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones Revolution (Single version) - The Beatles Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin Back in Black - AC/DC Debaser - Pixies Panama - Van Halen Kiss Off - Violent Femmes Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana Seven Nation Army - White Stripes I had to kick off some of my personal favorite rockers as follows: Rave On - Buddy Holly Whole Lotta Shakin - The Killer Tutti Frutti - Little Richard Cinnamon Girl - Neil Young Are you Gonna Go My way - Lenny Outtasite (Outta Mind) - Wilco Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet Man there are just tons of good rockers that could've made the list.
  6. Shitty way to get a gig, but that isn't Chris's fault. I'm sorry for Steuart and happy for Holt.
  7. Or perhaps they’re protecting methods that are still effective. Maybe both?
  8. Comes with more severe side effects though.
  9. I would keep that pick up cover though.
  10. I’ve said it before, but the ships that do this - and we know who they are - need to mysteriously start exploding and/or sinking.
  11. Which is great for religious folks and why it’s all too familiar to them. They run on faith, not facts. They’re the worlds easiest marks and no one knows his marks better than tfg.
  12. This. This is the reason.
  13. Did they? Or did we all just know it was true and a substantial portion of the population decided either “I can dig it” or “but meine eggs?”
  14. Well then, maybe not essentially the same... One time I invited some elementary friends over for a sleep over for my birthday. About fifth grade. My brother, about three years younger, was just not cool enough to hang with us, so we ostracized him. To get back at me, my brother ate all the electric blue icing off my birthday cake. The next day he laid a giant blue turd. He invited all my friends to gather round and have a look. Then he took a picture of it with his Instamatic 110, just for posterity. Sorry, that's my only blue turd story.
  15. Funny I learned in a 3 speed 1965 Mustang (check out the classics thread) and while essentially the same vehicle as yours, got a different response.

I'd really like to see Frank Black do Teenager of the Year, but I feel like I read somewhere he was otherwise engaged in October.
  17. We have to look to Europe for leadership? I'll take it. They owe us one free get out of fascism card.
  18. I had a Sunday school teacher who was a POW of the Japanese after his B-24 went down early in the war. He had many, many tales to tale. If anyone could have righteously held a grudge against the Japanese, it was him. When I asked him how he felt about Japanese cars (this was the 80s when they were seemingly taking over), he said, "I really doubt anyone who beat me built those cars. And even if they did, so what? I'm not wasting any more of my time on hate." The point being, I sleep easy with a Subaru. Or a Honda, or VW, or whatever the fuck. It's just metal. But he only said that AFTER he had helped eradicate the fascists.
  19. Man we could really use a few of them right now.
  20. Username checks out.
  21. lol this. Whatever he does it’s guaranteed to benefit him, and Russia and fuck us and Ukraine. My fervent hope is to be proven wrong.
  22. Man, it’s a race to the bottom in the former Confederacy. AL, GA and TX all give TN a run for their money. I’d throw in AR, MS and LA, but I’m not sure if they have running water there yet, so I can’t fault them as much for living in the 1860s.
  23. It is second only to NASM. I’ve been a few times, each time better than the last because they really are actively improving it all the time, adding/refreshing exhibits, etc. The best was I got snowed into Dayton for work once but the museum was open. I learned it takes about three days to do it properly. It’s gigantic. The only shame is you can no longer get to see the storage/restoration facilities anymore. That was a treat back in the day.
