  1. Never attribute to malice that which may be attributable to stupidity. Seriously though, I wonder how much of this is active Ukrainian work and how much is just Russian incompetence coupled with lack of spares, other stresses on the system.
  2. This is my favorite country disco song. Our band plays it every time.
  3. My Dad's from out there. Mattson. Doesn't exist as a community any longer. My grandmother settled in Weinert after Mattson dried up. She's buried at Haskell.
  4. Warmoth is always having sales and their shit is far better than the cheapo guitars. Just saying. But you can also find guys selling Warmoth parts casters on eBay and reverb all the time for half to 1/3 of the value of the parts. Just saying, if you're just experimenting, that's an option to get good quality at a lower price.
  5. Lawton is a true shithole. It's like Wichita Falls, but it's in Oklahoma. Terribad.
  6. This is the truth. From Sticky Fingers on its mostly Open G, though there were one or two open tuning tunes on Let it Bleed and Beggars Banquet I think.
  7. The thing about these kinds of guys is that they never seem to consider that the hunter can become the hunted. *And for any one who may be…”checking in”…I mean only outing embarrassing stuff about you on the innerwebs.
  8. Man, there's a lot less to that song than I expected. Faded memories of youth, I suppose. Thanks for doing the research.
  9. I can’t recall what song it was, but they were kinda poking fun at his big western hats and kimonos and general stage wear he presented. I wouldn’t call it beef so much as goofy punk kids punking and goofing as they are want to do. Someone here will recall with more detail, but that’s my recollection from say, 1988 or so.
  10. He is very, very weird. But I don’t think making fun of laughing is the direction we want to go right now.
  11. All I can say is that to an 8th grader growing up in East Texas who didn’t know what East Coast punk rebellion sounded like, they were a revelation. Though I was very conflicted about their making fun of SRV. It took me a long time to reconcile that. In my heart of hearts, maybe I still haven’t.
  12. Or using this gif at this time in this context is the perfect tribute to the American treasure that was Richard Simmons.
  13. It’s been done. (That’s a Spitfire doing a wing wiggle under a V-1)
  14. Are those Fender Pros? Looks like a single 15 in each amp.
