It's becoming apparent he didn't consult anyone on this. He just said "We're leaving" and now expects his will to be done. If we actually pull out of Syria, and he cannot be talked out of this, it will be an epic failure with far reaching consequences.

How should I know? I don't run the theater.
Drool some and talk funny. Maybe it'll work.

My son, who is in 9th grade, has never been much of an athlete (unlike his Jim Thorpe father). He's always given it his best shot but it is what it is and he gets discouraged. But the kid is smart as a whip (unlike his Forrest Gump father) . Gets straight A's at a really demanding prep school. Honestly I can't recall him ever getting a B in any class as far back as I can remember. I told him that success in the classroom will take him lightyears farther than success on a field or in a pool (he plays water polo). Stay focused on that and don't sweat it. I think he gets it.
That's a tough go. When all your friends are apparently killing it on the court/field/pool, it's hard to hear, "You're going to blossom in college. Trust me." College seems like a long way off to a 9th grader. What you said is 100% true, but still. You have to get through moment first.

She's got a nice bum, though.

I can't imagine the Kurds are too happy about this.
The Turks are going to push the Kurds shit in and we're going to be back at home watching on TV.
Thanks allies we'll never need again in a part of the world where we have few allies!

Your mileage may vary, but after years and years of buying different books and chucking them to the side, these spoke to me.

That kid getting hit... that would freak me out if I was driving that car. Even if the kid wasn't seriously hurt.
That kid getting hit freaked me out just sitting here.

^That guy* was a total asshole who deserves everything he has coming to him.
He no more represents BSA than Charles Whitman represents Longhorns.

This post is below your standard. Scouting offers an experience for those kids whose parent(s) aren't intrepid outdoorsmen.
Furthermore, the outdoors is just a milieu for the kids to learn some self-sufficiency, leadership, and organizational dynamics.
Despite its foibles at being tradition-bound, it is a good organization that offers a lot of benefits for kids of all kinds and backgrounds.
This.
I belonged in a Pack in the city, where the Cub Scouts got kids who didn't have access (or means) to get out in the woods a way to do so.
Then I moved to the country, and joined a Boy Scout troop that got a bunch of country boys to not only realize there was a bigger world out there, but to be better woodsmen.
Right now, the school Chad Jr. attends is a bunch of rich kids and poor kids mixed together in the middle of the city. Just getting them out and about would be great, especially when so many have parents that are just working to survive, much less have time to get their kids out in the woods. Not everyone has a family ranch to go weekending/hunting/hiking.

At the unit level, BSA is basically about getting kids outside and learning how to do shit. Like any volunteer org, it's basically what the parents make it. It's just another way to keep kids occupied in positive pursuits and out of trouble.
If the National level BSA files for bankruptcy protection, I highly doubt it will have any significant meaningful affect at the Council or Pack/Troop level.

Under the current system and leadership the deaths of millions are occuring, the financial rape of the AmericAn population is occuring, and you just advocated keeping that going because you don't want a few well targeted individuals (like Mitch McConnel) who are road blocking actual reform for their own greed to be eliminated.
Trump is the sideshow grifter but the real problem is Congress. Once the message is sent that opposition to reform is a death sentence America will take back it's chance to survive long term. Our current path is not financially solvent and will cause our downfall.
Yes, I advocate not murdering people I disagree with politically. Moreover, what you advocate, murdering people who you disagree with will somehow result in a better version of a system based upon peaceful exchange of power, is insane. I'm fine with going on record with that.
The justice system is grinding away at the malefactors. Let it do its' work.

Guess what? NGD at Casa de Fuck. I wasn’t really planning on a new bass, but I just couldn’t pass up the deal. 2012 American Deluxe Jazz Bass:

It has the “new” knocked off of it, which means a deal for me and I don’t have to worry about “ruining” a mint guitar for what will a play-out instrument.
It already has the hip-shot dropped D mod. I’m going to give the N3 pups a try, but if they don’t work out then I’ll just drop in some Lollars.
