I'm wondering why he isn't asking Simmons Prepared Foods. Seems like they'd be interested in having treatment. Probably another one of these, "it'll bring the tax payer jobs, so the taxpayers should fund it!" rip-offs.
The cynic in me thinks he probably has a side deal with Putin to give him a piece of whatever the US gets from Ukrainian mineral extraction. Lets see how the weapons flow.
I've seen this one at a few guitar shows. Rare bird though:

If I've ever seen that late 70s, early 80s looking thing posted upthread, it didn't make an impression.
You'd have thought these braniacs who've done so well making money could've figured out between: a) a solid, high percentage chance to continue on with the 80 year old US lead world order and make a ton of money for sure, or b) a tiny percentage chance to manipulate an uncontrollable person to get all the money. Greed won, they chose (b) and now they're finding out. So fuck them. We get fucked too, but fuck them very much in the goat ass.
Then that reporter would get frog marched out to the front gates of the WH and their spot in the pressroom would be replaced by an RT shill...er, I mean "journalist."
Pretty good interview compilation this thread reminded me of: https://phawker.com/2019/08/14/excerpt-an-oral-history-of-spoon/
Kinda crazy that there wasn't already a Spoon thread?
Even crazier, I remember picking up "Girls Can Tell" while at Waterloo then setting it back down and buying...something else. Because I could only afford to buy one record that day, I figured I'd buy a sure thing rather than what I perceived as a local band surrounded by a fawning local press. That record: I have no recollection. I should've bought Girls Can Tell then. I didn't really get into Spoon until I saw them at ACLFest in 2003.
