  1. Trump: “You’ll take my racist name calling and like it, you dirty rabid animal!”
  2. Trump’s grandpa - the Bavarian draft dodger - was an enterprising guy. He made his fortune, grifting minors and providing them food, lodging, and whores. When he returned to Bavaria, he had the equivalent of $600,000 or more. Bavaria found out he was a draft dodger, revoked his citizenship and kicked him out of the country. With that tradition behind him, no Trump male since the 19th century has ever agreed to military service for their country.
  3. My mom was born and raised in New England. She apparently thought that the use of any spice was of the devil. But if you had a hankering for bland, boiled food, she was your go to source. I will grant you that her Swedish immigrant mother taught her how to make a mean Swedish meatball. And when it was hot in the summer sometimes she would just do a Smorgasbord - with cold cuts, different cheeses, those mimi rye bread loaves, pickled herring, and the meatballs.
  4. Counterpoint: The dude gets to walk around and introduce himself to women saying, “Hi…I’m Hung…No, I’m really Hung”
  5. Well, he’s already the Three eyed Raven.
  6. Somewhere, LBJ is smiling in his grave and nodding as he remembers saying:“Let’s see if we can get the son of a bitch to deny it!”
  7. One of my very best friends is an evangelical in every sense of the word, inerrancy of the Bible believer, homeschooled his kids, conservative politically, etc. He also comes with a healthy dose of being oppressed, because not everyone else believes with him and his smaller group of conservative evangelical friends. Like I said, he is still a good buddy and so I gave him a crap all the time like good buddies do. I can get him on almost anything, but if I challenge any of his core beliefs being out of the mainstream, then he does feel challenged and pushback. Anything that implies they are a tad not-normal is the line in the sand.
  8. You should set up the concert so that they are streamable on Surly in the music forum and advertise the date in advance. At $9.95, when you get 50 of us to agree to pay for the concert to support live music you have close to $500 more bucks to give them. Do you have any female flutists from Band Camp giving concerts? We can move it to the pee in the butt forum and charge real money!
  9. There is a recent video where they sit around making bread cakes from grain they have stolen from Ukrainian farm animals because Russia has not provided them food for 27 days. I guess you can call that ‘some care.’ My understanding is that medical care for the Battlefield wounded is virtually nonexistent. I am positive you are correct that the personal feeling soldiers have for their friends is a real thing. But it is not like three healthy medics will be occupied caring for the wounded Russian soldier. if the medic can hold a gun, he’s dead and lying in the field next to the wounded Russian.
  10. ….because evangelicals and cowboy churches will honor that bargain and leave politics out of the pulpit. Right. We are just a few steps from Trump’s Myrmidons passing bills saying you can only vote if you belong to a few enumerated churches - like the Founders wanted. I see this take as more like Trump rearming his military after the Versailles treaty, but France not growing its own military - because see the Versailles treaty. Sometimes when the other side does not play by the rules, it is not the time to play by the rules. I am more than happy with federal legislation prohibiting electioneering in churches……after we defeat Trump.
  11. Yes. We are a monolith. We all think alike. The Borg has nothing on Bob Evans Early Birds. I’m old enough to remember the Hayes-Tilden election, with Hayes not knowing what brat meant, dimming GOP enthusiasm. Tilden then emerged the winner of the most Electoral College votes in the first vote, only to be overheard that he liked avocado toast more than grits. Hayes played on this gaffe to take the lead with Southern support (with some other minor ‘no more reconstruction’ promise), aided by Tilden’s unfortunate “What’s a 401K?” letter to Debow’s Weekly. The point is, Hayes’s VP looked old as shit, as if the ancestors of Trey Gowdy and Aunt Bea hooked up. …..But Tilden’s Veep called the hawk tuah girl “.. a strumpet with only one petticoat. Would!”, an attack on fair womanhood that cemented the Republican victory. i’m trying to convey that things have not changed.
  12. Yes, it is true that only old people talk about the qualities of a potential political candidate in a crucial race with the fate of the nation hanging by a thread. You got me.
  13. Gov. Walz was just on MSNBC and killed it. He is exactly who we need on the ticket. I’m thinking that the Talking Heads on MSNBC agree - and are making sure he is on often enough to up his chances of Veep selection.
  14. ….. you see……that whole “burden to his own side” thing…that’s not really how they roll in Russia. I don’t want to sound like a history nerd, but I have to point out that Florence Nightingale wasn’t on the Russian side during the Crimean war. To this day, Russian military medical aid Is more like stealing your share of the roasted Ukrainian pet dog while you bleed out a couple clicks to the front.
  15. i’m sure Anna Katerina appreciated your offer of free lodging and on-the-house massages.
  16. Man! Frank Zappa hasn’t aged at all!
  17. I need help with visual content for this tweet. All I know is the punchline: ” JD‘s wife is pretty fly for a white guy..”
  18. If he gets contacts and hits the gym, he can get back to his pre-hamburder indulging self….and Stacy will come around. Nothing gets a young woman wetter than reading aloud your favorite portions of Ayn Rand to her.
