  1. Shush. if you don’t tell them to sell now - at any price - to recover some equity - then how am I going to enjoy them all living in a van down by the river with a hand painted sign “Will BJ for Ramen and Spam?”
  2. Well, let me end your guessing and uncertainty Ms. Traylay, Tralaw, Trayloo… You’re fucked. Your kid is fucked. The other parents are fucked. The kids of the other parents are fucked. You did this. Glad to be of service.
  3. “Paid off another claim against Baron with the best non-disclosure clause ever”
  4. This is true of both people who say that….and people who say that as a euphemism.
  5. To that end, Social Security benefits ending sooner is something that a huge number of older voters will care about. I have a little doubt that politically something will be done to support Social Security under any party’s administration. That issue transcends party politics and will galvanize old people not able to meet their bills if Elon and the GOP go full-on stupid ideology and misplaced traitorous loyalty over politics. My initial reaction is always to assume no one could be that stupid, and then I remember it is Donald Trump. The other thing to remember is that MAGA voters honestly never believe something bad will happen to themselves. That is problematic. That is why innOhio they can focus on transgender junior high student athletes in bum fuck Oklahoma. That mindset is derived in part because they have no inkling that their lives could take a disastrous downturn from Trump’s policies. In other words, if you have a straight issue showdown between getting Social Security and transgender issues, old people would knit and gift transgender people sweaters if it meant keeping their Medicare and Social Security. Selfish self interest and an absence of empathy is what got us here, and that same selfish self-interest might work to help the Democrats with older voters - and fired voters - and losing your house because you can’t make a house note voters - and pissing off all of those relatives who have to take in various generations of family members who can’t make it now. Hating on gay and trans people is a luxury these people have enjoyed - that is, so long as their far, far, far more important self-interests are not being negatively impacted. TL;DR This crap just might get some traction from older Trump voters.
  6. Americans have traditionally wanted to fight the king and the kings representatives. I have an ancestor who was captured during the revolutionary war when the British took Fort Washington. The prisoners were sent to rot and die in ships called “Hulks” (if you remember, great expectations that is where the Australian benefactor was housed when he escaped) - all the British Navy ships who had lost their usefulness in the military, but could be used to house prisoners - where disease and malnutrition killed 70% of them. My ancestors survived, and immediately upon being released when colonial troops seized the hulks, he signed up with the continental infantry so that he could go kill as many redcoats as possible. I guess we’ll see if Thomas Jefferson’s quote about watering the tree of liberty was accurate or naïve and we have lost that DNA. I have another ancestor who was a ring leader in Shay’s rebellion. And I have a mother who in the 1940s hid the Japanese mother of one of her classmates in her apartment for several months so she would not be sent to a relocation camp. I hope that enough of us still feel that way.
  7. Sent to your parent’s probate attorney…
  8. There is obviously a point where Democrats need to do a good job explaining the alternatives and why they were lied to, but for right now there is a wave of bad shit heading for MAGA. For now, we hold.
  9. Weird Ani. Some of your post got cut off.
  10. Reagan taught them that the government was the enemy. The fact that they never knew the 24-7 massive benefits their government provided them is a secret about to be revealed to them. i’m actually happy that an army of Karen’s are about to be demanding to “see the manager of the government stuff”
  11. Weirdly, there is an actual chance that they will blame it on their elected GOP candidates and officials not named Trump. Why? Because when things start sliding into the giant shit abyss we are headed for, the only sure thing besides death and taxes is that Trump will be blaming it on everyone but himself - and if the Democrats are no longer in charge of the house, the Senate or the oval office, it will be a harder sell to blame it on Biden. Sure, there will always be mouth breathers to carry his water and blame it on the dems. But as we have seen, they will turn on anyone in the GOP that Trump tells him is an enemy. And we know who Trump has no problem turning on anyone in the GOP if it gives him the slightest advantage. That is what so stupid about going all-in on their shitty policies from day one. As dumb as America is, they can figure out that last month under Biden I had $6 dollar insulin and today under Trump it’s $80. The much smarter play would have been to slow roll the dismantling of the government and preserve their ability to blame bad things on Democrats. But Trump had to replace everyone in government with toadies and Myrmidons within two years to be able to more successfully engineer his real goal- to end elections.
  12. So - you are blaming maintenance?
  13. they have also chosen cruelty - so long as it is cruelty to others. That is why I hope the pain is astronomical. To them. And their loved ones. And their neighbors. Because that will be the only thing that might keep us away from the dark vision of our country that the GOP is trying to create into reality. I’m old, and my parents were depression era kids. People who suffered in the depression and we’re not able to afford food and clothes and shelter knew in the most personal way the value of progressive policies. They knew we should have some form of healthcare for free, they knew we should have some sort of minimum poverty, preventing retirement plan like Social Security. They knew labor unions were important to make sure people had a living wage. 100 years later, people have forgotten all of those hard lessons learned. So apparently we have to learn them again.
  14. I assume this makes investing in hookers and blow somewhat more problematic? That’s why it’s hard to beat the tried and true dependability of the good old .003 APY Christmas Club account.
  15. That’s why they called it “Zoom” “Schwing!!” was taken.
  16. i’m having trouble with my internal dialogue, telling me it would be fantastic if the bat virus crosses the bat-human barrier and requires vaccination to survive it. That could solve multiple problems.
  17. it just dawned on me that the era of drones carrying piles of dog shit to deposit in appropriate places has arrived.
  18. Mystique cos-play sex replacement is difficult. Once you go blue, it belongs to you…
  19. You can sue anyone for anything. Whether you recover is a separate matter than whether you can sue somebody. Now, the moment of threat doctrine says that you as a cop can kill anyone for almost any reason if you say they are a threat to you or others in your . Scotus is actually writing an opinion as I type about whether the moment of threat doctrine will still be applicable. Of course it will. oops. did not see brisket’s response before I vomited my answer.
  20. How very tort reform-y….
  21. “Yeah….so…..I ran. I ran so far away…”
  22. BTW, our controller friend says to tell you, “Jean a de longues moustache…”
