    Getting old sucks

I can say with almost 100% certainty that when elderly people move into assisted living, they always do it later than they should have. This includes my mom.
  2. About seven months ago, I decided to get more serious about losing weight. Old metabolism; makes it a bit harder. But I’m down 28 pounds so far, and shockingly I feel so much better. I was 222, now 195 this morning. Given the amount of work to do it, I’m not trying to be my 30-year-old weight of 160. My plan is to start weight training when I reach 190. I bought a universal gym and I’m setting it up in a spare bedroom with my treadmill. With weight training, I hope to try to replace remaining 10-15 pounds of fat with 10-15 pounds of muscle and call it a day. I realized that I eat lunch mostly out of habit and to take a break from work. I now realize that the break from work does not mean I have to shove food down my throat at lunch. I’ve been going for a 30 minute walk instead, and I am enjoying the absence of the food coma after eating a big lunch. This lets me cheat a bit at dinner and have slightly larger portions while still slow slowly losing weight. Once I accepted that 2 to 3 pounds a month is an acceptable weight loss I’ve been less inclined to quit because I didn’t have instant success. Congrats to everyone in a similar struggle.
  3. Since God created all of the elements that make up the various gases 6,000 years ago, it is my reluctant duty to inform you that the accident fact pattern makes you subject to the pre-existing condition exclusion.
  4. Wait! I thought he said he would use the art of the deal and stop the war in the first day. I guess the Deep State has invaded Russia too.
  5. Thank God, America is respected around the world again.
  6. Yeah…, but bacon taste good. Pork chops taste good. Fucking foreign women feels good. Getting Social Security payments feels good. I don’t have any grandchildren, so if I ever have them, by the time they reach the age of consent you will be too old to fuck them. But it’s true that a man needs a dream.
  7. I see that I have trapped you in my web of smartness. I am fat, dumb and way old. Which makes you wrong. Sit there in your wrongness and be wrong Mr. wrong guy.
  8. Why is your smooth brain and your tiny gerbil dick telling you to make stupid mouth words on this board?
  9. And yet, when enough people think that the market is going bad and the economy in the future is going to be bad, the collective will can turn into a recession, whether or not the underlying factors warrant it. It makes no difference if the people who do not want to order more goods or buy more things because of fear of a bad economic downturn in the future is correct, the fear that things are going to be bad is just as valid as the accuracy of things going bad. I think that everyone is convinced we are going to have a recession - and so we will.
  10. Dow only down 527. A good day.
  11. I live in a van down by the river and grow my soy beans on bottom land.
  12. So I saw my MAGA congressman and he said, quote: “Buy bullion while you can, change fiat notes before they’re woke!” Sometimes I wonder just what I’m gonna do - there ain’t no cure for the lib-cabal blues.
  13. TTom and Pimphand must have known the secret handshake, and they shared information on how we in the Cabal all work to normalize pedophilia. That was supposed to be our secret, dammit!! What if they find those wreath fund checks made out to PDiddy-Epstein??
  14. He only says “Jesuits” to keep the Knights Templar from knowing that he’s getting really close to the answer.
  15. It’s the best-est-est, for sure

  20. In every state, the Democratic ad should say “Representative or Senator X will not prevent what Trump and Musk are doing to America. Representative or Senator X does not have the spine to oppose Trump or Musk’s, so you effectively have nobody to protect your family from being hurt their bad policies. Just this once, consider voting Democrat. You may not agree with all of Democrat policies, but they will protect your job and the economy by stopping the harmful tariff wars. Democrats will make sure Ukraine can defend its citizens from terrorist attacks by Russia, and will never falsely claim that Ukraine started the war. Democrats will help preserve and protect our environment and our national parks and forests. Democrats will continue to support any state, whether red or blue, that suffers a national disaster. And Democrats will never disband FEMA. Democrats will not fire the government employees who work to keep our drugs - and our food - and our water - and our air safe and clean. If your Senator or Representative won’t stand up to Trump and Musk now, they will not stand up to Trump and Musk and prevent even worse things.”
  21. That pin thing is real. turboTax filing was rejected by IRS the first effort because I did not have the magic IRS pin they apparently mailed to me some time ago. I went to my online IRS account and looked up old correspondence and found the pin information and the second TurboTax filing was accepted.
  22. I believe this is a bit too harsh. This is America. Sometimes it takes a village. Sometimes it takes the entire family to help us through tough times. I do not think you should limit his daughter’s opportunities to participate in Only Fans as a means of saving the farm.
  23. The good news is that just 30 days of tightening tiny screws will provide the funds to buy the cheap bourbon.
  24. on Bloomberg this morning a guest from Kentucky was talking about how all the bourbon producers are about to take it up the ass when the rest of the world quits buying the huge amount of bourbon aging and in storage. Apparently the craft cocktail movement got everybody’s Jimmies rustled so producers started maximizing product volume. A supplied demand problem was already looming, but Canada and Asia and foreign markets not buying bourbon might put a fork in it. Given that the Turtle and Rand represent Kentucky, this does not displease me.
